Drug addiction and perinatal stress

Introduction: Methamphetamine (MA) belongs to the psychostimulants with a central stimulating and anorectic effect. It has been found that MA is the most frequently abused drug of drug-addicted pregnant women. Drug abuse of mother can cause worsening maternal behavior and delayed offspring development. Prenatal application of MA can also lead to long- term changes in behavior, cognition and social interaction. It was also shown that maternal injections induce long-lasting effects on stress responsiveness in adult progeny. Stress and drug addiction are therefore closely connected. In children, perinatal stress is associated with cognitive, behavioral, physical and emotional problems as well as with autism. In adults, it is linked to depression and schizophrenia. In animals, perinatal stress reduces social play and social behavior, increases anxiety and impairs cognitive functions. Aim: The aim of this thesis was to determine the effect of perinatal factors such as prenatal MA/stress and/or early postnatal stress on sensorimotor development of pups and their mothers' behavior during lactation period, social behavior and oxytocin levels in juvenile age and subsequently on cognitive functions and behavior of exposed offspring in adulthood. ZBROJOVKA BRNO - Opportunity for the city Strategies for Zbrojovka Brno, the third largest brownfield in the city. Urban policy and the process of integration of the site into the city and connection with his organism. Creating a territorial strategy or tactical urbanism procedure that tries successive interventions re- incorporate this into the organism of the city , in a way that fully reflect the needs , possibilities and polarity in the territory. It is essential that the established process allowed for long-term gradual regeneration, which can be interrupted by economic pressure, and in its every moment of creating a working environment that sudden interruption of restorative work in their stride. The entire process of restoring the site is divided into several phases , but at each flexibly connected and can run such a large area partially independently . Based on the current state of the complex, which is gradually opened , are removed objects that are in disrepair , and those that hinder the development of the area and its smooth functioning. Subsequently, traffic control , area connected to public transport. As a result, the situation will stabilize and rehabilitate the total area of the factory and its surroundings. All through individual interventions in its structure and public space. The whole process is documented on the basic objectives and approaches of the phases that are subsequently documented reference interventions and achievements typical of the condition of the site. All complemented by an analysis of the phenomenon of the basic tasks of rehabilitation of the site.

Compact City - or what new is able to yet be done in Brno among railway stations

Project deals with the Brno main railway station and a large area behind this station, including the broader context of a railway junction in Brno and the suburban area. Station is located in the user-friendly and operationally advantageous location in the city center. „Zanádraží“, from the city center point of view, remains behind the station, but it isn`t the city inside periphery anymore. Proximity to city center, train and bus station and the river „Svratka“ give uniquely positioned for the generation of attractive neighborhoods. Author rejects functionalist arrangement of cities and vertical segregation of communications. The new city district is formed by use traditional urban repertoire: streets, squares and waterfronts defined by closed block development. The emphasis is on functional public transportation system, favorable conditions for pedestrian movement and the sustainability of private transport, which is providing a facility for ensuring the service areas, but not for undirected growth threatening urban environment.

BUILDING OF TWO BLOCKS IN THE CITY MONUMENT RESERVATION IN JIHLAVA

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is an urban and architectural study of the completion of two rehabilitated blocks in the historic center of Jihlava. In the solved area there is an intertwining of two districts with predominant functions - work and housing. The design works with the urban context of the development of the historic center. Mass regulation and a functional solution of a new development is proposed, which closes both disturbed blocks. The development of the northern block is addressed in detail in the architectural study of four independently functioning buildings - two apartment buildings, an office building and a parking house in the courtyard. The apartment building connected to the existing development is further elaborated in technical and architectural detail. Part of the design is also the solution of the chamber public space newly defined by the proposed development.

ZBROJOVKA FACTORY BRNO

Subject of master thesis is urbanist-architecture study of the postindustrial site of former factory Zbrojovka Brno. The outcome of study is focused around further construction, new functional utilisation of existing buildings and novel spacial arrangement that take into the account currently under-utilised areas of the site. Study is focused on urban poly-functionality, quality of public spaces and application of sustainable urban development principles.

Block Cejl – Svitava RIver Waterfront

This thesis explores possibilities of postindustrial area in Brno, between Cejl street and Svitava river. It presents a hint on author's understanding of architecture and urbanism as well as his oppinion on solved problems. Thesis consists of three parts. First part analyzes possibilities, values and limits of the area. Second part presents proposed urban concept for solved area. Last part further solves concept for three building from beforementioned urban concept.

The objective of the bachelor thesis is an urban and architectonic study of two uneffectively used blocks in historical centre of Jihlava. The product is design of built of residential house, public house, parking house and several administrational buildings in context of public space. The design shows concrete solution of the residential house in connection to the public house and parking house.
