Havlíková, Anna ; Strnadová, Alice (advisor) ; Kulhavá, Miluše (referee)
In my Bachelor Thesis, I was focused on the issue of preterm birth in the group of general nurses. I aimed to compare the incidence of preterm birth in the group of general nurses with that of the background population. Further, I intended to specify whether there are differences in the preterm birth occurrence between the group of general nurses that were redeployed to a work with lower risk during the pregnancy and the group of general nurses that were not redeployed and still used to do shift work (working in non-daylight hours). I used scientific literature, international studies and articles in professional journals to obtain data to create a theoretical part. In this part I was focused on pregnancy; childbirth; preterm birth; the risk factors related to work of the nurse; and finally to the labour law concerning pregnancy. In the experimental section, I present the analysis and evaluations of data I obtained in the form of tables and graphs. All these presentations are described and annotated. The data for analysis were obtained from the questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was constructed by me. The survey took place at the two clinics of the Všeobecná fakultní nemocnice. In my Bachelor Thesis, the statistical analysis of the obtained data did not prove that there is significantly higher...

The second part is empirically focused on qualitative research. There were two case studies created and compared. The objective is to find evidence that quality of nursing care can affect serious complications associated with artificial pulmonary ventilation. Another objective is to determine the proper nursing care for airway. The qualitative research was conducted at the Department of Anestesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine through data collection, analysis of documents, observation and interviews with two patients. After the studies with both patients we have confirmed that nursing care is as important as doctor's care. In nursing care these patients was not revealed any misconduct on the part of nurses that would result in the emergence of possible complication. Nursing care for a patient on combined dialysis treatment
Vlčkovová, Jana ; Marková, Eva (advisor) ; Strnadová, Alice (referee)
We have chosen as the topic of the BSc thesis "Nursing care for a patient on combined dialysis treatment". During our care for the patient, who had been originally put on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, the patient was transferred onto haemodialysis. Based on this exceptional case of a patient with chronic renal failure, the aim of the thesis was to demonstrate complex nature and specific aspects of nursing care and educational needs of both treatment methods and to compare number of complications associated with each. We chose the form of a case report which appeared to us appropriate for specification of the nursing care. Principal finding of our work is the fact that incidence of complications in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis is much higher than is usually stated in educational materials and other works dealing with similar topics. Education is therefore a very important component of nursing care for the patient. Keywords: Hemodialysis. Renal insufficiency. Peritoneal dialysis. Case study. The nursing model Marjory Gordon.
