ABSTRACT: This thesis deals with teaching Computing subjects at secondary schools in England as a model for transformation of teaching ICT at schools in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on the portability of aspects of teaching Computing to the Czech environment and endeavours to identify the possible barriers to implementation processes. The aim of the thesis is to bring new stimuli for changes in the Czech ICT curriculum that are based on the experience of teaching ICT and Computing in the UK. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of the analysis and comparison of the Czech and British curricular documents and the study of academic and journalistic texts. The empirical part uses questionnaires focused on opinions of Czech and English experts on teaching ICT or Computing. It also uses interviews with English teachers of Computing and observations of Computing and ICT lessons at English secondary schools. The New Zealand's Policy in the South Pacific from Geopolitical Point of View

This master thesis "The N e w Z e a l a n d ' s P o l i c y in the South P acific fr o m G e o p o l i t i c a l Point o f View" is focused on the role of the New Zealand in the South Pacific and the relationship with other countries in the given area. It briefly describes the history of the region - Polynesian and European voyages, the European trespass and their consequences on the evolution of the state New Zealand. It continues with the overview of the New Zealand's history until the World War II. Second part concentrates on the relationship between New Zealand and its dependencies - Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau and Ross Dependency - and changes in the identity, which occurred during the last century in New Zealand society. The European identity has been slowly disappearing in favour of South Pacific identity. The last outpost of Europe is turning into the Polynesian country. The major topic of the thesis is focused on the South Pacific after the World War II. - it describes the process of decolonization and the number of problems related to its independence, the politics of "clean Pacific", the matter of migration and finally the regional organizations.
Foreign exchange rate and its impacts on the competitiveness of the czech economy

Thesis deals with the exchange rate and how it effects the competitiveness of the czech economy. In the thesis are described basic characteristics, structure and role of the exchange rate. In the first part are characterized teoretical basics of the given problem and necessary bases for the practical part of the thesis. Practical part is focused on the development of the exchange rate in the Czech Republic, its changes and the causes of these changes. The development of the exchange rate is organized into several periods since the foundation of the Czech Republic and on the charts are described the events that accompanied this development. It is outlined how its changes and fluctuations are reflected in the economic development of the country and in its competitiveness.
Luxembourg in international relations

This thesis deals with the general topic of small states in international relations based on a case study of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The case study analyses the behaviour of Luxembourg as a small state in international relations from 1839 up to 1960s. It concentrates on seven main periods and phases in the history of this small country - membership in the German Customs Union as a member and as a non-member of the German Confederation, the neutralisation of Luxembourg, WWI and the violation of neutrality, membership in the Belgium-Luxembourg economic union, WWII, and the membership in the Benelux Union and the European Communities. The main aim of this thesis is to come to a conclusion, which aspects of the behaviour of Luxembourg can be described as universal behaviour patterns of small states and which aspects were specific only to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
