Lithium battery accumulation system testing
Straka, Jan ; Koval, Filip (referee) ; Morávek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with properties, parameters and testing of lithium battery systems available on the market. It describes basic parameters of battery cells, which are used to make batteries and battery systems, equivalent electrical models of batteries for the purpose of conversion of their properties to an electrical circuit and stating and comparing commercial battery systems of different manufacturers. What follows is the introduction of tests to measure the parameters of battery systems. The experimental part of this thesis describes the used testing platform and evaluates results of carried out measurements.
Proposal of shearing tool for the manufacture of shaped blank
Straka, Jan ; Řiháček, Jan (referee) ; Peterková, Eva (advisor)
The thesis presents a design of a progressive cutting tool for the production of shaped blanks from sheet metal Usibor 1500 (22MnB5) with a thickness of 1.5 mm. The tool is designed by using CATIA V5 software in cooperation with Žďas, a.s. company. Based on the literature review of the cutting process, cutters were designed, shear clearance and order of operations in the tool were determined. The proposed cutting tool consists of both manufactured and standardized parts. Tool parts fall out of the chute onto the conveyor belt. The tool is designed to operate on an AIDA 1000 excentric press with a nominal force of 10,000 kN. Cutters that are not standardized are made of tool steel and heat treated according to drawing documentation.
Sheets bonding and their testing
Straka, Jan ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Dvořák, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design selected load tests for bonded joints at specified steel sheet DC01 under laboratory conditions and to compare the strength of the degreased joints with technical alcohol and uncrushed joints. The basic methods of joining thin sheets are presented in the thesis. The following is an overview of test methods for bonded sheets according to the relevant technical standards. The results of the selected tests are the specific numerical values that have been compared with those reported by the manufacturer of the particular adhesive.

Contexts of emergence of freedom in the philosophy of Jean Paul Sartre
Straka, Jan ; Pelcová, Naděžda (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to map Jean Paul Sartre's ontological inquiry into the concept of freedom. We will view Sartre as an influential modern ontologist. Therefore the concept of freedom will be apprehend within the framework of inquiry into the being of things, which in this perspective means the human being. The intelectual productivity of Sartre during the 1930s and 1940s finds its original ontological base for exploring the modes of being of human existence mainly within the perspective of Husserl's Phenomenology. That is true at least for his most influential work from this period called Being and nothigness (1943). This phenomenological basis of Sartre's inquiry are changing in the following decades towards the social ontology that originally connects his former existentialism with marxism viewed through fresh and original perspectives. This kind of ontology obtains its most coherent form in Sartre's extensive work called The Critique of Dialectical Reason (1960). Finally, we consider as necessary to reflect Sartre's work through the perspective of following generation of french philosophical thinking influenced mainly by structuralism. Structuralist readings of thinkers like Nietzsche, Freud, Marx or Sartre alone by this following generation of thinkers (Derrida, Levi Strauss,...

To be or not to be a teacher: Czech teachers’ salaries from an opportunity costs perspective in a broader context
Münich, Daniel ; Straka, Jan
In this paper we present new evidence on how very low the teaching profession’s wage attractiveness is in primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. We show that 70-90% of university educated employees receive higher salaries than an average teacher. Teachers with 15 years’ experience earn only half of what their university educated peers do. The low financial attractiveness of the teaching profession is reflected in the low interest among young people, especially talented ones, in becoming teachers. We present our findings within a broader and longerterm economic context, showing the causal chain from the level of motivation to become a teacher, to the quality of teachers, quality of education, level of education of the population and, as a result, the long-term growth of the economy and the country’s well-being in general.
Impact of education on long-term economic growth and pension system deficits
Münich, Daniel ; Ondko, Peter ; Straka, Jan
Long-term economic growth has a significant impact on the quality of life in a country. The education of its citizens is an important factor influencing the growth. Nevertheless, the relationship between economic growth and education is very long-term and not apparent at the first glance. However, this long-term relation can be illuminated with the help of quantitative projections. For this purpose, we use empirical estimates presented in the recent OECD report by Erik Hanushek and Ludger Woessmann. If the Czech Republic puts in place educational reform that leads to the increase of average cognitive skill level of 15 year old pupils (as measured by PISA survey) by a mere 25 points - hence only a fourth of the standard deviation, GDP in the current value is estimated to cumulatively increase by 12 trillion CZK over the next 80 years, thus 357 percent of the current annual GDP of the country. Unfortunately, the decrease in average cognitive skills levels that took place in the Czech Republic in the last decade leads to a similar GDP loss. If we were able to improve the average cognitive skills levels to Finnish standards, the additional production would even reach 707% of today’s GDP. If the average cognitive skills levels of the children of parents without high school degrees could be brought up to the level of those whose parents have high school degrees, it would increase production by 152% of the current GDP. The potential benefits recalculated in terms of annual budget exceed the current state budget deficit or budget for education. Finally, the higher GDP growth would significantly reduce the cumulated pension deficit.
