Political profiles of Czech Prime Ministers since 2002

The Topic of dissertation is creating political profiles of czech prime ministers since 2002. The thesis uses the leadership theory of James Burns and Bernard Bass and the theory of presidentialization according to Thomas Poguntke and Paul Webb. Based on these two theories, the profile of the Prime Minister is created. This is based on an examination of the three "faces" presented by T. Poguntke and P. Webb. In a party face is the theory of leadership used. The theory of presidentialization is used in the other two faces - governmental and electoral. For electoral face I also use the theory of personalization in support from Lauri Karvonen. Prime ministers are examined in terms of position in the party, government and election campaign, including an analysis of their election results. Except of theoretical concepts, a scale has been created for diploma thesis and comparison by which the dominant position is measured across all three faces. This thesis contains profiles of three chairmen from the CSSD - Vladimir Spidla, Jiri Paroubek and Bohuslav Sobotka, two chairmen from the ODS - Mirek Topolanek and Petr Necas and Andrej Babis from the ANO.
