Use of Business Intelligence to Support Decision-Making Processes
Staněk, Jakub ; Luhan, Jan (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
Business intelligence is beginning to be an inseparable part of different sizes of companies and can help with several decisions by processing and evaluating company data. Main goal of this thesis is to implement this BI solution into a growing company that operates an internet network in Brno in a way that will effectively help decisionmaking processes. The thesis begins by introducing BI from a theoretical point of view than analyses default state of the company and ends with resulting proposed solution which is consisted of four reports one of which renders building in 3D space, possible measures, and description of data transformation.
Psychology in the context of progaming
STANĚK, Jakub
The aim of dissertation thesis is to map the challenging situations that professional, and semi-professional digital game players may encounter and which create psychological pressure on them, and at the same time to reveal whether there are any psychological specificities in performance gamers, i.e. to try to map their psychological profile. Closely linked to both of these themes are the psychological needs of gamers and psychological support. Data were collected using a battery of psychodiagnostic methods, a self-constructed questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with players and coaches from Czech professional organizations. In total, the research sample consisted of 45 professional and semi-professional players and 5 coaches. The comparison group was composed of 183 leisure players. The results showed that professional players are mostly introverted with a high orientation towards the outcome of their efforts and a high-performance orientation. At the same time, they showed lower levels of social interactions outside their team. It was also possible to identify challenging situations that stem from training, matches, the team and the player's career. To cope with these, the skills of managing stress, communicating effectively, controlling emotions and acting in a disciplined manner are crucial for players. Psychologists can help players with these aspects, and their work in progaming should consist of individual consultations with players and coaches, group work with the team, and education and skills training. A comparison of studying and nonstudying progamers showed that full-time study supports the social component of players' lives, but the current parameters of schooling and the conditions for obtaining an individual study plan are not suitable for a combination of study and professional gaming.
The Labyrinth of the City and the Paradise of Parking
Vestenická, Marie ; Slavík, Antonín (advisor) ; Staněk, Jakub (referee)
The Labyrinth of the City and the Paradise of Parking Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to familiarize the reader with the notion of parking functions. The following section is dedicated to Rényi's parking problem. Theory goes hand in hand with examples and programs that better explain individual parking problems.
Adversarial principle in Czech criminal procedure
Staněk, Jakub ; Mulák, Jiří (advisor) ; Beranová, Andrea (referee)
Adversarial principle in Czech criminal procedure Abstract Although the principle of adversarial proceedings is not explicitly enshrined in Section 2 of the Criminal Procedure Code, it is one of the fundamental principles of criminal proceedings, as it provides the accused with the opportunity to actively participate in the ongoing criminal proceedings and, through the presentation of his version of the "truth", to influence the court's decision on his guilt and possible punishment. Based on this premise, the case law of the European Court of Human Rights considers it to be an integral part of the right to a fair trial and, in defining it, emphasises both the right to be informed of all the opinions and evidence discussed in the proceedings and the right to comment on them. However, alongside this subjective conception of adversarial principle, there is a more objective approach, which focuses on adversarial principle as a dispute of opinions of the parties to the criminal proceedings, constituting the very essence of the judicial process and providing the court with an effective means of finding the "truth". The subject of this thesis is therefore an analysis of the various conceptions and functions of the adversarial principle and a critical assessment of the scope and limits of its application at the...
Strange functions in mathematical analysis
Frantál, Jiří ; Rmoutil, Martin (advisor) ; Staněk, Jakub (referee)
This work contains a collection of strange functions that, with their properties, break the school intuition of students in some way. In the first part of this work, an analysis of the available teaching materials (textbooks, summary collections and educational videos) is carried out. The results of this analysis are subsequently a guide for the selection of specific functions in the second part. Functions are divided into three groups according to whether their properties contradict the intuition of continuity, derivative or integral. Important part of the work are graphs of the functions drawn by the Wolfram Mathematica.
Duels and truels in mathematics
Matis, Anton ; Slavík, Antonín (advisor) ; Staněk, Jakub (referee)
The bachelor thesis describes and analyzes a game in which two or three players compete against each other with the task of eliminating opponents. The game has several variants, which differ in the specified rules. The aim of the work is to review the optimal strategy and calculate the probabilities of success for individual players. 1

Volume of solids
Tvrdá, Monika ; Halas, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Staněk, Jakub (referee)
This didactic oriented bachelor project helps to approach an origin of relations for the volumes of solids taught at high school. It is focused on high school and university students. At the beginning the project shows historical meaning of the volumes of solids and the processes which were used to enumerate them in the ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. Further, the project deals with the definition of volume of solids; it is based on Jordan's measure. The relations for volumes of the sorted solids are derived using the integral calculus. In the end the other ways of deriving of these relations are shown. At first, it is the method that Archimedes from Syracuse invented, furthermore by the visual imaginations and the Cavalieri's principle. 1
Elementary mathematics from an advanced standpoint
Kučera, Jiří ; Bečvář, Jindřich (advisor) ; Staněk, Jakub (referee)
Mine thesis is written for self-study of secondary school graduates students which prepare for the mathematically oriented high schools. It clarifies theoretical approach to mathematics. It was chosen topics exponents, square roots, logarithms and equations that contain these objects for this purpose. For this reason students are given the opportunity to gain stance to university mathematics knowledge that should be known from high school. In addition, his work allows him to enlarge knowledge of those topics and learn heavier and unusual examples.
Deterministic and Stochastic Epidemic Models
Staněk, Jakub ; Štěpán, Josef (advisor) ; Hlubinka, Daniel (referee) ; Dohnal, Gejza (referee)
Kermack-McKendrick model and its version with vaccination are presented. First, we introduce a model with vaccination and then a numerical study that includes comparison of di erent vaccination strategies and searching for optimal vaccination strategy is presented. We proceed to introduce a stochastic model with migration and consequently we suggest its generalization and prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution to the stochastic di erential equation (henceforth SDE) describing this model. Three stochastic versions of Kermack-McKendrick model with vaccination are suggested and compared. A procedure of nding the optimal vaccination strategy is presented. We also prove the theorem on the existence and uniqueness of a solution to the SDE that drives a model with multiple pathogens. Finally, the stochastic di erential equation describing the general model is presented. We study properties of a solution to this SDE and present sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution that is absorbed by the natural barrier of the model.
