Soukupová Ivančíková, Jitka ; Šturma, Pavel (advisor) ; Balaš, Vladimír (referee) ; Švarc, Zbyněk (referee)
The World Trade Organization ("WTO") and its dispute resolution systém is unique in the international economic law, reasons are following: (i) enforcement, (ii) two-level proceding, (iii) exclusive jurisdiction of the Dispute Settlement Body ("DSU"). DSU continues to follow the case law based on GATT 1947 however develops more complex rule of law. How successful DSB is in this task is subject of examination of the thesis. Thesis is divided into two parts: theoritecal and practical. First chapter explains aim of the DSU, comparison of procedural rules with GATT 1947. Following, the second chapter explains the hard law and procedural rules, function and aim of WTO, followed by ideas for improvement of the dispute settlement. Last chapter of this parts is dedicated to methods of interpretation. The second part, practical, analyses the case law of DSU from its establishment in 1995 until now. It analyses possible conflicts between agreements of WTO or conflicts that arise during acting based on the agreements. Among the first cases belong the discrepancies between main 3 agreements - GATT 1994, GATS and TRIPS and cases such as Canada - Periodicals or Argentina- Textiles and Apparel, Indonesia - Auto; another group of cases represents isme of conflict between WTO agreement and other agreement of public...
Design and synthesis of BCA2 inhibitors.
Soukupová, Jitka ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Musílek, Kamil (referee) ; Westwell, Andrew D. (referee)
BCA 2 (Breast Cancer Associated Protein2) is a novel monomeric RING (Really Interesting New Gene 2) - type ubiquitin E3 ligase. It was found to be overexpressed in 56 % of invasive breast cancers and its expression is correlated with a positive estrogen receptor status. The RING-type family of proteins possesses ubiquitin ligase activity and involves in protein degradation. Ubiquitylation is used to target proteins of different biological processes including proteosomal degradation or endocytosis. Polyubiquitination of target protein substrates is carried out by three classes of ubiquitin ligase enzymes, of which the diverse E3 ligase family catalyse the final step of ubiquitin transfer to specific lysyl residues of target proteins prior to proteosomal destruction. The RING-type proteins can be defined as unique linear series of conserved cysteine and histidin residues and binds two zinc atoms in a cross-brace arrangement. Studies of zinc-ejecting compounds have led to the identification of disulfiram, which has been used for alcohol aversion therapy for alcohol aversion therapy as an alcohol dehydrogenase inhibitor. In this thesis I describe the synthesis of three series of novel zinc-affinic compounds, in order to optimise selectivity of BCA2 inhibitors which could lead to the identification of...
Employees motivation in selected company
SOUKUPOVÁ, Jitka
I have concentrated my diploma work to the system of motivation and stimulation. As a subject of my study I chose the company AISIN EUROPE MANUFACTURING CZECH s.r.o. that currently employs 270 people. Its motivation and stimulation system has got very sofisticated structure for motivation and stimulation of the employees. As a method of my work I have chosen investigation by questionnaire, interview and observation. The questionnaire that became a starting point of my study was based on theoretical knowledge and features important for evaluation. The goal of the investigation was to analyze attitude of the employees to the individual motives and motivators and herewith to find out how they perceive fulfilment of those factors by the company. Answers to each question are displayed in a graph and a chart which are accompanied by the results and discussion. Inquired group of employees covered all the departments in the company. Getting to know the wide range of motivation and stimulation means in the company, I found out that the company AISIN EUROPE MANUFACTURING CZECH s.r.o. prefers material remuneration and offering benefits to the employees. Regarding remuneration, I would propose to apply flexible component of the salary that a manager could use to valuate a subordinate more often, respectively in one month period. Regarding communication and information flow, I would recommend to install digital mean of sharing information and also to place it close to the employee entrance in order to announce the changes to the employees as soon as they enter the plant. Another proposal for improvement is to start operation of company buses for the employees. Thereby the company might recruit qualified manpower also from locations close to premises of the company but currently without good trasportation service.
