Pumps designed to replace the human heart
Šedivý, Dominik ; Nováková, Naděžda (referee) ; Soukup, Lubomír (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor’s thesis is pumps designed to replace the human heart. The thesis contains historic development of pumps, which are used for pumping the blood. Further there are described technical parameters of different pump types for supporting human organs. One part of the thesis is focused on hemodynamic.
Balancing of hydraulic machines
Buben, Marek ; Soukup, Lubomír (referee) ; Nováková, Naděžda (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is technical research dealing with issues of static and dynamic balancing of rotors. The first part of this work is devoted to explaining basic concepts associated with problems of balancing. As for the next part, this work defines types of imbalances and basic methods of balancing. The last part is devoted to describing machines for static and dynamic balancing and their operation in practice.
Possible ways of reduction of the resistance of a body moving in liquids inspired by nature
Krejčiřík, Stanislav ; Soukup, Lubomír (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis follows up the possible ways of body drag reduction, and it is inspired by nature. In the first part, basic theoretical concepts regarding bodies moving in liquids are described. Furthermore the thesis presents particular marine animals with developed mechanism for drag reduction. This includes dolphins, sharks and humpback whales. Possible technical and other applications are shown on these examples.
High pressure hydraulics in agricultural machinery
Pavlík, Václav ; Kárník, Jan (referee) ; Soukup, Lubomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis provides an overview of the most used ways of converting kinetic energy into pressure energy and the other way around by using hydrostatic converters. It is focused on the issue of high-pressure hydraulic mechanisms in agricultural machinery. In the next section I focused on getting an overview of the function of sophisticated hydraulic systems in current tractors and calculation of heat losses of lifting weight by front three-point hitch. For solving was used Bernoulli equation for real flow in pipes.
Analysis of working operation hydroelectric power plant Kníničky and Komín
Novotný, Vojtěch ; Soukup, Lubomír (referee) ; Hudec, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to describe hydroelectric power plant system Kníničky – Komín and optimize its operation with suitable mathematical model. For an introduction to the topic there is at the beginning of the thesis a chapter that describes and divides small hydro power plants and their machinery.
Ordinary differential equations and their applications in physics
Soukup, Lubomír ; Kisela, Tomáš (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
Numerous tasks of engineering practice lead to ordinary differential equations. In many cases these equations exist as mathematic formalization of appropriate physical laws. The aim of this thesis is to mention some of these problems especially with regard to the topic discussed within the studies at FSI VUT in Brno.
The Application of the Ground-based InSAR technique for the deformation monitoring of concrete hydropower dam Orlík on Vltava river
Talich, Milan ; Glöckner, M. ; Böhm, Ondřej ; Antoš, Filip ; Soukup, Lubomír ; Havrlant, Jan ; Šolc, Jakub
GB InSAR technique plays an increasingly important role in determining the deformation of dams. The paper describes the use of GB InSAR technique for monitoring deformations of the Czech largest concrete dam Orlík on the Vltava river. After analyzing one month-long continuous measurement of the dam were detected non-linear movements. The relation between acting water level and resulting deformations were investigated in detail. The results confirm that GB InSAR technique is very suitable for monitoring deformations of this type of constructions. At the same time, the results may serve as a valuable source of data and information for further analysis in area of stability and for early warning systems.
Bayesian classification of digital images by web application
Talich, M. ; Böhm, O. ; Soukup, Lubomír
The contribution introduces web application for image classification that has been developed at the Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography and Cartography in the framework of grant project InGeoCalc (supported by Ministry of education of the Czech Republic). The web application is aimed to display, examine and classify digital image data. The data are expected to be obtained from Internet by means of Web Map Services (WMS) or from other sources (possibly non-registered). Image data from different sources can be combined and presented as composition of layers (coverage) with adjustable degrees of transparency. After gathering the data, Bayesian (supervised) classification is applied to distinguish separate regions in the image. User can choose between several classification methods and adjust pertinent parameters. Furthermore, several subsequent basic analytical tools are offered, namely computation of distances, areas or perimeters related to the classified regions, simple statistical summaries about classification results (e.g. distribution of classes, percentage of non-classified regions, etc.). The classification results and registration parameters can be saved for further use. The web application is based on common Internet standards (HTML, Javascript, SVG). The only requirement for running the application is an up-to-date Internet browser supporting SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Typical usage of the web application can involve land cover mapping based on satellite or aerial images. The application is available free of charge for any Internet user.
Possibilities and Limits of Affine Transformation Application to Georeferencing
Soukup, Lubomír
Affine transform is one of the most common transforms having been applied for several purposes in such branches as geodesy, cartography, GIS, remote sensing, computer graphics etc. Its application in some specific case is, however, limited by requirements on positional precision of transformed points in a given area of interest. This contribution therefore deals with accuracy analysis of affine transform. The aim of the analysis is to provide objective arguments for a decision whether affine transform is suitable for some specific purpose (eg. georeferencing of historical maps, matching of satellite or aerial images). Some generalizations of affine transform are also mentioned, namely method of collocation, Jung's transform, Coons plate, Thin Plate Spline, polynomial transform. Purely probabilistic and statistic approach is applied throughout the accuracy analysis, transformation parameters are estimated by Bayesian approach.
