Comparison of Study-Related Fees at Public Universities
Píšová, Jasmína ; Soukup, Jindřich (advisor) ; Dvořák, Petr (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis addresses the issue of study-related fees at public universities in the Czech Republic. The first theoretical part describes the function and the performance of a university. It also divides universities into different types by their characteristics. Furthermore, the concept of a fee is explored, which is the main point of the thesis. The thesis then explains the fee's components and functions, paying special attention to the types of study-related fees: admission-related fees, fees for exceeding the standard study period and the tuition fee for study in a foreign language. It also examines the charges, conditions under which they are assessed, and the procedure for appeal against the decree. The practical part compares the study-related fees at several public universities in the Czech Republic. The thesis includes a survey among students of University of economics in Prague, who already pay fees for exceeding the standard study period and focus on their views of the study-related fees at universities.
Analýza hospodářské recese 2014 v Ruské federaci
Sergeev, Vladimir ; Soukup, Jindřich (advisor) ; Kulbakov, Nikolay (referee)
The aim of bachelor´s thesis is analyzing of the most important aspects connected with economic crisis in Russian Federation in 2014, defining the basic causes of recession, description of main manifestation in Russian economy, its impact on the economic system and following reaction of the government. The first part of thesis theoretically describes the topic from the perspective of negative economic cycle and trends and processes related with it. Also, thesis presents important characteristics of current Russian economy. Second part starts with main reasons which caused the recession, describes the course of the crisis in years 2014 and 2015, its impact from the perspective of several important macroeconomic indicators and government measures aimed at recovery of damaged economic sectors.
Medical image registration
Lacmanová, Zdeňka ; Soukup, Jindřich (advisor) ; Hnětynková, Iveta (referee)
This thesis deals with the registration of images, which differ only in the shift and rotation, taken from CT angiography. The term of registration and transformation between the images are explained here. Three methods are used for registration. The first method is based on Fourier transform and it is called the phase correlation. The other two methods use the measured data by phase correlation and then the data is processed using the least squares method or singular value decomposition. There is given detailed theoretical foundation, the methods are mathematically derived and then implemented and tested in Matlab. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Segmentation of cells from microscopic images
Lašan, Michal ; Soukup, Jindřich (advisor) ; Blažek, Jan (referee)
In this thesis, we present a new method for the automatic segmentation of mammalian cancer cells from time-lapse images obtained by a microscope based on phase contrast. This method is a pipeline composed of basic techniques from the field of image processing, mathematical morphology and the theory of graphs. Its main idea is to utilize the presence of halo artifacts around the cells, which cause the boundaries between the cells to be lighter than the rest of the image. It follows up to the method proposed by Jindřich Soukup which is able to separate the cells from the background. We compare this method to the watershed - a publicly available algorithm from the field of mathematical morphology. We use segmentation by a human expert as the ground truth. The presented method is implemented in MATLAB and Java with a simple and intuitive interface. We also attach a straightforward GUI editor of segmentation written in Java, with the help of which a user can correct imprecisions in the segmentation, or even create their own manual segmentation. Computational study of initial stages of metal film growth
Soukup, Jindřich
This work deals with the description and analysis of image data, which related to the initial stages of the thin film growth. The introductory retrieval section includes a description of thin films and methods of their deposition. The following part is an overview of the growth models of thin layers. The heart of my thesis is the analysis and modification of morphological methods and interpretation of their results. The emphasis is placed on the statistical aspect of methods and their optimal implementation due to the accuracy of the results. The work shows how to modify the radial distribution function and methods based on so-called Voronoi and Delaunay triangulation tessellation so that they can better affect the character of test data. New methods are tested both on the experimental and model data. Then we examine their robustness, sensitivity and their mutual independence. At the conclusion it is introduced and analyzed a new model of thin film growth.
Extracting Control Points from Image Pairs for Perspective Transformation
Hajič, Jakub ; Blažek, Jan (advisor) ; Soukup, Jindřich (referee)
Image registration is a part of many higher level image processing tasks. This thesis presents a novel approach to control point extraction as part of pairwise image registration. In combination with a suitable matching and model estimation algorithm, the extracted points could be used for estimating a global perspective transformation between the images. Our method extracts several features from image patches surrounding every point, and calculates an interest measure based on them. We use a supervised learning algorithm to obtain parameters of this extraction method. A control point matching algorithm is presented which considers the surrounding image patches of the control points and calculates a rotationally invariant similarity measure. We compare the results between our method of control point extraction and the Harris corner detector, and discuss the results of the matching and methods to improve both the matching and the control point extraction.

Fiscal policy of the Czech Republic in the first decade of the 21st century and its influence to business sector
Bejčková, Radka ; Soukup, Jindřich (advisor) ; Follprecht, Štěpán (referee)
The subject of this Bachelor's thesis is the analysis of the fiscal policy of the Czech Republic in the period from 2000 till 2012 focused on the revenue side of the state budget, especially then on the corporate income tax. The first part theoretically describes the issue of fiscal policy and tax system. The next part analyses the development of individual fiscal measures in corporate income tax in the selected time period, the reason why they have been established and how they might have affected the behaviour of taxpayers. The structure of the state budget is shown on the specific data and the last part examines the impact of the fiscal measures on the development of macroeconomic indicators.
Analysis of regional disparities in unemployment in Slovakia and their causes
Pavlík, Peter ; Dobrylovský, Jiří (advisor) ; Soukup, Jindřich (referee)
The thesis is focused on the assessment of the state of unemployment in the regions of Slovakia. The aim is through the analysis of population structure by education or nationality, their economic activity or employment by economic sectors, to identify the main causes of significant differences in the reported unemployment rates between eight state regions. The thesis also provides an overview of basic theoretical concepts related to unemployment and an overview of the prior macro-economic and political development in Slovakia.
