Pospíšilová, Anna ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Špačková, Klára (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the sibling relationships of children with autism spectrum disorder from the perspective of parents. The theoretical part defines the concept of autism spectrum disorders, its historical development, etiology and the main areas in which autism spectrum disorders manifest themselves. The following chapter deals with a family with a child with autism spectrum disorders and the main problems these families face. The third chapter first describes the characteristics of sibling relationships, sibling rivalry and sibling constellations, then the chapter deals with the specifics of the sibling relationship with a child with a disability and the impact of autism spectrum disorders on the sibling relationship. Last but not least, the possibilities of supporting healthy siblings are briefly outlined. The empirical part presents the research, which was carried out using a questionnaire survey. Research goals and questions, research methodology and characteristics of the research sample are presented. The results are first presented using descriptive data analysis, then correlation analysis, more specifically Spearman's correlation coefficient, was used to verify the established hypotheses. In the discussion, the results are placed in a broader context by comparison with the...
Foster care of unaccompanied minors in the Czech Republic
Korcová, Terezie ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
1 ABSTRACT The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find the principle of host care of unaccompanied foreigner minors in the Czech Republic and describe its main benefits and drawbacks. The theoretical part summarizes the main characteristics of host care and describes the main benefit according to the authors of field literature. The empirical part of the work presents the results of a research survey, which took place in the form of semi-structured interviews with hosts whose families provide care to unaccompanied minors, as well as with a refugee aid organization which seeks to create a system of accompaniment, counselling and other elements that provide the necessary support and enable the treatment of potential risks. The analysis of the interviews shows that this system is currently planned in detail within the project of the mentioned non-profit organization and the individual parts of the project are gradually being implemented. From the comparison of the analysis of interviews with the literature, it is clear that the hosts need quality preparation and subsequent support, given that this form of care involves certain risks, both for minors and for the hosts themselves. At the same time, it is clear from the analysis that for both parties, host care means significant enrichment, especially thanks to the...
Comparison of usage of selected apperception techniques in children aged 6 to 7 years
Adámková, Jana ; Soukupová, Tereza (advisor) ; Preiss, Marek (referee) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
The main topic of this dissertation is the usage of apperception techniques in diagnosing children aged 6 to 7 years, with an emphasis on the practice of School Psychology. The theoretical part focuses primarily on psychological diagnosis in School Psychology with the emphasis on apperception techniques, their benefits, and downfalls. The other focus is on the Thematic Apperception Test and Roberts-2, as well as selected assessment systems. The practical part is introduced by the research methodology. Both diagnostic methods were administered to 30 children aged 6 to 7 years, whose responses were assessed using standardized systems, and subsequently compared both quantitatively and qualitatively. The main finding is that the stories evoked by Roberts-2 cards exceeds the stories evoked by TAT cards in developmental quality, the latter of which the children find too overloading to produce an optimal reaction, with varied results in their adaptability. The dissertation also presents the specifics of administering these methods to children. Based on the data derived from 50 children, the Czech norms for Roberts-2 method for children aged 6 to 7 were created in their working stage, and than compared with the original American norms.
Changes in the self-concept of parents who have adopted a child
Ransdorfová, Jana ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
The thesis is dedicated to changing the self-concept of parents who have adopted a child. The aim of the thesis is to explore how parents who have adopted a child perceive and evaluate changes in their self-concept. How these changes are perceived by mothers and fathers. How the perception of self-concept changed throughout adoption decisions, adoption processes, and adaptation to parenthood. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with parenting, substitute family care and the adoption process. It also describes the identity, role and self-concept of the parent, then the adaptation and the specifics of adoptive parenting. The practical part represents qualitative research that is done through semi-structured interviews with parents who have adopted a child. The results of the research resulting from the data analysis are interpreted and compared with specialist literature. Self-perception changed due to the burden that respondents had to cope with, from coping with childlessness to adaptation and becoming the parent of an adopted child. Perceived changes in the self-concept of fathers and mothers are somewhat different, but they basically result from different positions in the family and their role. Keywords: parenting, adoption, self-concept, substitute family care
Development of the relationship of adult intact individuals with siblings with autism spectrum disorder
Havelková, Alžběta ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
The diploma thesis aims to map the lived reality of adult intact siblings of people with autism spectrum disorders in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part provides an insight into the current knowledge in the field of autism spectrum disorders and the manifestations thereof, sibling relationships and the impact of autism spectrum disorders on the family in general, and with respect to intact siblings, in particular. In the empirical part I focus on the description and analysis of qualitative research involving five intact siblings of people with autism spectrum disorders aged 28-29. For the purposes of the research, a semi-structured interview had been chosen, subsequently analyzed and interpreted. The interview topics concerned the past and present relationship of the informants to their siblings with ASD, ideas about their common future, the personality of an intact sibling or certain life choices of the informants. The results of the diploma thesis showed an interesting picture of the development of the sibling relationships with people with ASD, which are strongly affected by the nature of the disorder. The research confirmed a severe amount of stress in intact siblings of people with ASD, which stems from many different areas of their living together. It also turned out that living with...
Teaching focused on the development of foreigners' language skills - benefits and disadvantages at work with class in Science in 2nd grade
Čanigová, Gabriela ; Špačková, Klára (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Gabriela Čanigová Teaching focused on the development of foreigners` language skills - benefits and disadvantages at work with class in Science in 2nd grade ABSTRACT The work will deal with the development of language skills of pupils with different mother tongue and evaluation of the possible benefits of including such focused activities in teaching the whole class. As many research surveys show, weakened language skills in the mother tongue are not only for pupils with a different mother tongue. Adjusting teaching to pupils with different foreigners language could enrich other pupils as well. On the other hand, it is possible that these activities will be too simple for most pupils, which could lead to a loss of interest. Another possible risk appears to be time consuming, which could lead to the need to reduce the scope and possibly the content of education. The research will be carried out in two research groups in the form of experimental teaching of selected topics of the subject Prvouka. In the experimental group the teaching (explanation, work with text, etc.) will be adapted to the language skills of pupils with different foreigners language. Such oriented education will emphasize an increased level of graphic visualization of the content of teaching and creation of space for communication and...
Self-harm in children
Tvrdoňová, Anna ; Procházková, Jana (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Title: Self-harm in children Abstract This thesis deals with the topic of self-injury of adolescents. Its goal is to analyze the adolescents' view of self-injury, how the youth themselves define self-injury and what they perceive to be self-injurious behavior. The work is divided into two core parts. The first section focuses on the definition of the self-injury and reviews both current Czech and international literature. Particular attention is devoted to the inconsistent terminology, definitions and presentation of the recent classification system of self- injury. The second part is devoted to the research of explorative character. The data have been collected through a survey using anonymous self report questionnaire from 73 pupils between the ages of 13-15 and they were analysed using categorization and the method of factor and cluster analysis. Factor analysis extracted ten factors which served as the meaningful units and can be interpreted as adolescents' viewpoints of self- injury. Findings suggest the adolescents consider not only direct destruction of one's own body as example self-injury but also behavior that indirectly leads to negative health outcomes (eating disorders, smoking, abuse of alcohol). Interestingly, the youth reported ambivalent viewpoint of self-injury. They reported not only the...

Solnařová, Jana ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Rigorózní práce Psychometric quality of the classroom relationship questionnaire and it's modification ABSTRACT The rigorous thesis follows the topic of a diploma thesis which deals with relations in gender-unbalanced classes. A non-standardized questionnaire of relationships in classes was used in the diploma thesis and possible gaps and shortcomings appeared during its elaboration. The questionnaire is the subject of this thesis. The theoretical part maps the influence of gender stereotypes on development of individuals and character of relationships in coeducated and separated classes. The empirical part works with 324 collected questionnaires, and concist of two parts. Questionnaires in the first part were psychometrically processed and a due to insufficient reliability of some items, a modification of the questionnaire was proposed. The second part consists of detailed analysis of the collected data. Results show the influence of several variables on relationships in the classes. Pupils have the best relationships with each other in primary schools while the worst relationships are in vocational and secondary vocational schools. Relationships between individuals worsen with age, especially in a subgroup of girls. Girls are considerably influenced by gender composition of the class. They have the best...

Belhajová, Hana ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Kacafírková, Petra (referee)
This work aims to analyze and describe how the inclusion of pupils with Asperger's syndrome takes place in a regular school and to verify the success of inclusion in practice through qualitative research. The theoretical part deals mainly with the possibilities of inclusion and its benefits in the school system, manifestations, and disorders associated with Asperger's syndrome, but also by defining basic concepts such as autism spectrum disorder, Asperger's syndrome, integration, and inclusion. Furthermore, the diagnosis of this spectrum of disorders according to the world criteria ICD 10 and DSM5 and ICD 11, which will come into force in the Czech Republic in 2022. The theoretical part also discusses the methods of approach and the position of teaching assistant. The empirical part of the thesis contains two case studies and evaluation of the success of the inclusion of pupils in mainstream schools based on qualitative research, in which I apply the knowledge from the theoretical part. The methods that were used for data collection and analysis include observation, interview, and expert documents. The research showed interesting results when most of the information and knowledge from the theoretical part was confirmed KEYWORDS Inclusion, Asperger's syndrome, elementary school, first grade, method...
Analysis of Solving Math Problems in Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (and its relation to cognitive processing of students)
Sotáková, Hana ; Rendl, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pavelková, Isabella (referee) ; Bazalová, Barbora (referee)
The dissertation thesis addresses the topic of mathematical tasks processing in students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and problematic points of their solution. The aim of this work is to delineate methods that ASD students use to approach these tasks and solve them. We focus primarily on whether it is possible to identify different procedures than those used by typically developing students, and whether these procedures show specifics corresponding to distinct cognitive processes. In the theoretical part we provide a theoretical background for the study. Firstly, we create a frame to understand the complexity of autism, furthermore we deal with psychological theories examining the topic, and describe specifics of development of ASD students during their adolescence. Thereafter, we reflect on studies addressing mathematical skills of ASD students. Mathematics is considered as their great strength, however is not sufficiently scrutinized, as highlighted by various international studies (for example Oswald et al., 2016). The empiric part is based on qualitative methodology and pursues comparisons of mathematical tasks processing between six ASD students and typically developing peers. We strive to document differences and common points in solutions as well as to analyze cognitive processes of...
