Electoral Geography of Post-communist Countries

The thesis "Electoral Geography of Postcommunist Countries in Central and Eastern Europe" deals with the topic of electoral geography, which is a part of the political geography. The basic hypothesis of the paper is based on opinion that the postcommunist countries experienced the twenty years of development in the postcommunist period which made their electoral geography very similar to one in Western Europe. This hypothesis is proved by three different areas of electoral geography. The first part is composed by the analysis of the electoral geography of the founding elections in the 17 postcommunist countries (including the GDR). In the paper is proposed after the research of all 17 countries the categorization of founding elections on the basis of electoral geography. The second part examines the electoral geography of capitals. The research is focused on the size of the lectorate in the capital compare to the whole country, on the diverhgence of electoral results in the capital and in the whole state and on strength of the party families in capitals. Folowing these three areas is proposed the catehorisation of the postcommunist capitals into the five groups. The third part deals with variability of the electoral results inside the state.

Optimalization in allocation drivers at bus service

The thesis is focused on suggesting an algorithm for planning of optimal assignment drivers and vehicles to scheme of expeditions. When we make the assignment, we aspire to minimize the total transportation costs. By the same mail we push for well-balanced assignment, with respect to utilization of drivers and vehicles . The structure of the planning problem there is describing by making out of a wide linear model, whose parts are algebraic formulations of restrictions, which one must in traffic abide. In this model we can see binary and real variables that mean we draw up a model of mixed integer programming. We can say, that the integer programming is in general more complicated, then integer programming. We used optimization software named GAMS for solution this problem. The software uses Branch and Bound algorithm for the integer number problems. We draw up a program in GAMS, which is able to set an optimal pian for assignment drivers and vehicles to expeditions. A part of this work is couple of exemplary tasks, with their solution.

The Position of the Presidents in Political Systems of Poland, Lithuania and Romania

Postavenípresidentů vpolitickém systému Polska, Litvy a Rumunska After the fall of communism in East Central Europe many countries introduced, during the transitional period, the direct election of the president. This represents a solid reason to consider them being semi-presidential, since popular election of the head of state is a main component in all of the definitions of this regime type. The shape of institutions and internal logic of semi-presidentialism differs more or less from presidential or parliametary systems. Alike presidentialism, semi-presidential type of government is also based on dual legitimacy - both executive (at least its part, the president) and legislative are elected by people and can call for democratic legitimity - while parliamentarism is chiefly based on dominance of the legislation and lacks the separation of powers. This diploma work, titled The position o f the presidents in political systelms o f Poland, Lithuania and Romania, tries to underline main aspects of role of the presidents in three East Central European countries. The New Zealand's Policy in the South Pacific from Geopolitical Point of View

This master thesis "The N e w Z e a l a n d ' s P o l i c y in the South P acific fr o m G e o p o l i t i c a l Point o f View" is focused on the role of the New Zealand in the South Pacific and the relationship with other countries in the given area. It briefly describes the history of the region - Polynesian and European voyages, the European trespass and their consequences on the evolution of the state New Zealand. It continues with the overview of the New Zealand's history until the World War II. Second part concentrates on the relationship between New Zealand and its dependencies - Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau and Ross Dependency - and changes in the identity, which occurred during the last century in New Zealand society. The European identity has been slowly disappearing in favour of South Pacific identity. The last outpost of Europe is turning into the Polynesian country. The major topic of the thesis is focused on the South Pacific after the World War II. - it describes the process of decolonization and the number of problems related to its independence, the politics of "clean Pacific", the matter of migration and finally the regional organizations.

Cooperation of Political Parties in the European Level and its Developtment

The European political parties and cooperation of national parties in the parliamentary groups in the European Parliament are very important aspect of the European Union. Here is list of them: One of the most successful organizations is the European People's Party. This party has long tradition of collaboration between conservative, liberal and Christian democratic parties. She is the only the only one party, which allows individual membership. Thought they have inner disputes about the finalité of the EU, they keep their enthusiasm towards the united Europe. The Party of European Socialist is the second biggest in the European Parliament. They are slightly less cohesive about the future of the EU, but since approval of their basic program in the year of 1992 they are more capable of acting due to remove of the national veto. They have organized "Network Europe", organization of party activists, which helps to bring the PES closer to citizens. The European Liberal Democratic and Reform Party is also party with long tradition. This party has included both parts of liberal scene - social as well as free market liberals.
