Folktale, dream and their connections
Vídršperková, Lenka ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee) ; Voldřich, Michal (referee)
The dissertation discusses the similarities or even possible relatedness of folktales and dreams. The theoretical framework of this research is mainly psychoanalytical - in accordance with psychoanalytic theory, the assumption is accepted that manifestations of the unconscious can be observed in folktales, as well as in dreams. Manifest and latent content can be found in both, folktales and dreams, and therefore they can be interpreted. Some authors, such as the Hungarian folklorist G. Róheim, propose that a folktale originally comes from an individual dream, which was told by a dreamer and gradually enriched with cultural specifics. M. Kučera's theory of induction follows from this - folktales induce dreams that would have been dreamed anyway, because their content is based on child's unconscious needs and conflicts. The first part presents the theoretical basis. In the next part, a possible procedure for interpreting a folktale is shown on the folktale type ATU 510B (Princess with a Golden Star on her Forehead from B. Němcová). The available versions of the folktale are searched and compared; the basic timeline of the folktale is defined. The most famous interpretations are presented: According to some of them, the folktale deals with the psyche of an abused woman, according to others, the...

Škanderová, Taťána ; Machovcová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee)
This master thesis investigates how student identity of college students whose parents do not have university degree is constructed and further developed. The aim is to find out what meanings, factors, resources, actors and identities enter and influence the process of building and developing their student identity. It focuses on turning points, which are accompanied by a change in their own identity and uncertainty in their own social and cultural world. The theoretical part of the work is focused on defining and describing the specific characteristics of college students with parents without a college degree, the problem of a deficit perspective on them and the specifics of first-generation students in more prestigious fields of study. The following sections deal with social and educational inequalities from a historical point of view in the Czech context and from the point of view of critical social psychology. The conclusion is devoted to identity, which is viewed from three theoretical perspectives, namely from the perspective of social identity theory, from the perspective of social constructivism, and from the sociocultural developmental perspective on identity changes. In the empirical part, repeated semi-structured in-depth interviews and photo diaries were used to collect data. The...

Kameníková, Denisa ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Frombergerová, Anna (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on exploring teachers' attitudes towards LGBT+ students and LGBT+ issues within schools. The theoretical section of the thesis establishes fundamental concepts and phenomena related to LGBT+ adolescents, as well as attitudes and prejudices towards LGBT+ students. The primary emphasis is on LGBT+ students and issues in the school environment. The objective of this study is to investigate the attitudes of secondary school teachers towards their LGBT+ students. For the research, a qualitative approach was employed, and data collection was carried out through individual semi-structured interviews, using pre- prepared question set. The interviews involved 5 female and 3 male respondents. The data gathered was then analyzed using thematic analysis, leading to the identification of 13 themes and 20 sub-themes. These findings are visually represented to enhance clarity and to demonstrate potential interrelationships among them. The results of this study eveal the complexity of teachers' attitudes, highlighting the diverse components that contribute to their perception of a singular subject. Furthermore, the research explores additional themes such as the inclusion of LGBT+ topics in the classroom, specific actions taken by teachers to support LGBT+ learners, and recommendations...

Polách, Dominik ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Topolovská, Tereza (referee)
This thesis "LGBT+ topics as curricula in foreign language education in the Czech schools" deals with the issue of integrating LGBT+ and gender-related topics into foreign language teaching. This thesis builds on previous research in the field of LGBT+ in Czech schools. Through a qualitative study in the form of semi-structured interviews with foreign language teachers in Czech primary and secondary schools, answers are sought to the questions of how are LGBT+ and gender topics integrated into foreign language teaching and how are these topics dealt with in foreign language classes. Teachers' perspectives on the integration of these topics into language teaching and possible problems that may arise when integrating these topics into language teaching are also researched. It was found that in most cases these topics arise spontaneously in foreign language classes, usually from the learners' side, who find these issues present and interesting. Teachers perceive certain shortcomings in the teaching materials in terms of integrating these topics, but they find the incorporation in the curriculum sufficient in terms of the general theme of tolerance and respect. And in relation to the theme of tolerance and respect, they consider the integration of LGBT+ and gender issues into language teaching to be...
The Experience of Nonbinary Individuals with Self-Presentation and Gender Expression (from a Phenomenological Perspective)
Novotný, Ondřej ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Macháčková, Marcela (referee)
This bachelor's thesis explores lived experiences of individuals who identify as non-binary, both in personal spheres and social interactions. It defines the concept of gender and examines related concepts such as its development, roles, stereotypes, and its socially constructed nature, as well as its interaction with social and personal identity. It briefly touches on androgyny and gender-aschematicity and their potential positive impact on society through reducing the salience of gender stereotypes, by promoting more flexible notions of gender. In the empirical section, the thesis analyses the narratives of four non- binary informants (obtained through semi-structured interviews) using interpretive phenomenological analysis. It specifically focuses on self-presentation and gender expression in relation to authenticity, studying the interaction between the self and the social environment. The thesis highlights the variability in experiences among these four individuals and summarizes their experiences into emergent themes and subthemes. Through description and interpretation, it seeks to elucidate and explain the individual experiences of the informants. Various common themes arise, such as: (1) the relationship between pressure exerted on the individual and the perceived need to challenge...
Classrooms with LGBT students: case studies
Vlková, Veronika ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Frombergerová, Anna (referee)
AJ This diploma thesis deals with secondary school class groups, where are students with a minority sexual orientation/students from the LGBT+ community. In the class collectives, peer relationships and the functioning of this entire class collective is examined with the attitude towards the LGBT community. In this diploma thesis, the focus is on the entire class collectives, not only on students with a minority sexual orientation/from the LGBT+ community or, conversely, students with a heterosexual orientation/cisgender identity. The research was conducted in the form of 2 case studies, specifically, a questionnaire survey, semi-structured interviews with a few randomly selected students and semi-structured interviews with class teachers were used. The goal of the research was not only to describe the entire class group, but also to grasp the LGBT+ topic more comprehensively and understand the situation that is based on the presence of a student from the LGBT+ community in the class group - from the point of view of students from the LGBT+ community, as well as students with a majority sexual orientation/identity. The research shows that good or functional peer relationships do not necessarily mean a positive attitude towards the LGBT+ community and vice versa. Students in both class groups...

Drahovzalová, Dominika ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Chrz, Vladimír (referee) ; Hoskovcová, Simona (referee)
Currently, Corporate education does not only have to be used to transfer know-how, but also to develop the required values and moral principles that help employees to better navigate and succeed in the organizational culture. For the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic, this coexistence with the internal culture and values of the organisation is essential because it is required of employees and officers not only internally but also by legislative regulations. It is fundamentally linked to the purpose of the service: to protect the lives and health of people, the environment, animals and property from fires and other emergencies and crises. This research paper provides insight into the internal education of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and the value setting of the firefighter organizational culture. It aims to map how the value orientation and moral responsibility of officers and employees develop or change and whether these changes are related to the internal education received. In order to achieve this goal, exploratory research was conducted on 231 respondents from among firefighters and students divided according to their completed professional education, who answered a set of self-assessment scales, dilemma situations and questions mapping their moral-value orientations. Beyond...
The identity and social interactions of nonbinary adolescents
Divišová, Nikola ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Taušová, Jitka (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on the identity, gender experience, and social interactions of young nonbinary people in the Czech Republic. The research aims to contribute to filling a gap in Czech scientific literature and to improve our understanding of nonbinary people's experiences, which is necessary for psychological practice with nonbinary clients. In relation to this aim, the thesis has three objectives. To understand the concept of gender and one's own gender identity among young nonbinary persons in the Czech Republic. To explore what factors play a role in the choice of a label for one's gender identity and how nonbinary persons think about different identities. As for our final goal, we set out to explore the effects of choosing a specific label on social interactions. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on identity, nonbinary gender, language, and the social experiences of nonbinary people. As part of the empirical part, we conducted eleven interviews with non-binary people aged 18-23, which were then analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. This resulted in four themes: "I exist the way I want," "To make it easier," "It's an option," and "Relationship with masculinity and femininity." Based on our analysis, the research questions were then answered. The thesis showed that...
Novice teachers and educational inclusion: impact of attitudes and self-efficacy
Vozková, Anna ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Štech, Stanislav (referee) ; Denglerová, Denisa (referee)
This thesis focuses on novice teachers, their attitudes towards educational inclusion, and the impact of teacher self-efficacy. The theoretical part is divided into five main sections devoted to various aspects of a teacher's work, addressing the development and enhancement of their professional identity and teacher self-efficacy at the outset of their career. The last two chapters describe the concept of inclusion within the context of the Czech educational system and summarize the current research on teachers' attitudes towards inclusion. The empirical part presents a mixed-methods research study examining Czech novice teachers' attitudes towards and experiences with inclusion. The study also investigates factors potentially influencing the implementation of inclusion, including teacher self-efficacy, social environment, and perceived support. The research was conducted in three waves; however, due to attrition, only data collected during the first two waves were analyzed. In each stage, participants completed three types of questionnaires and participated in semi-structured interviews. The data were processed using statistical methods and thematic analysis as appropriate. This resulted in the development of a new model, proposing that teacher professional identity mediates the relationship...
