Acquaintanceship of the catholics with the problem of assisted reproduction
Daly, Jana ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Skoblík, Jiří (referee)
How informed are Catholics about assisted reproduction Infertility is on the increase and alongside this problem thre has been a growth in the number of clinics offering assisted reproduction mainly in the developed world. More and more people who are unable to give birth naturally are deciding on artificial insemination. The goal of this thesis was to find out the standing of the Catholic people with regards to this phenomenon, how much they are aware of it, what is the source of their knowledge and how much they agree with the church's teaching. The first part introduces the techniques of reproductive medicine and, in particular, their negative circumstances. The following part describes the research whose focus was groups of Catholics in Prague, outside Prague and also students at theological colleges. Its results to a large extent answer the questions that the author asks herself in the introduction. KEYWORDS: Assisted Reproduction, Artificial Insemination, Catholics, Embryo, Infertility.
Moral Aspects of Piety towards Dead Bodies
Mrzílková, Jana ; Skoblík, Jiří (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
This study in details reflects upon moral aspects of piety towards dead bodies. It discusses reasons, why should man keep etical discipline in relation to dead bodies. In the form of overview are listed possible sources and preconditions for piety towards the life, from the biology, philosophy and religion point of view. The most attention is given to religious view and its biblical, eschatological and antropological aspects. Also questions of funerals and dissections are addressed in the light of challanges in the modern history. On the contrary are given practical examples of disrespect towards dead bodies (corpse, corpse leftovers and organs robbery, necrophilia, disputable human behavior in the hospitals and in undertaking services). Finally, teological aspects of the human body, having piety source in the God and in His creation, incarnation and in the Jesus Crist redemption are discussed. Keywords: smrt, duše, tělo, teologie, pitva Keywords: death, soul, body, theology, dissection

The Development of Funeral Practices in the Context of the Evolution of Ideological framework of the Czechoslovak(Hussite) Church.

10 Abstract The Development of Funeral Practices in the Context of the Evolution of Ideological framework of the Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church. Author: Mgr. Richard Ferčík Our work resulted in finding that since the very beginning of its existence, the Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church approached the question of funeral rituals as a practical, pastoral question, not academic and theoretical. The Czechoslovak Church became a pioneer and promoter of cremation and operator of the most extensive network of columbaries in Czechoslovakia. The major moment of Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church particulars was the shift from the mechanical-magical concept of funeral in popular Catholicism, by which it tried to confront with a purified and understandable ritual based on the gospel and the desire to enculturate the gospel and translate it into a "live" language. Judging by the theological view of death and funeral, the basis from which it stemmed is quite clear - catholic modernism and liberal democratic thinking. In the first generation of Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church theologians we could observe significant "scholastic" fundament. Theological consideration was never priority in these matters, but the church only dealt with it when solving complex tasks. It was not until the middle of 1940s, when the Copernical Revolution...
Theology and economics: A theological reflection of the principles of classical liberalism

THEOLOGY AND ECONOMICS: A THEOLOGICAL REFLECTION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF CLASSICAL LIBERALISM Disertační práce. Mgr. Věra Vaníčková Abstract This dissertation presents the basic knowledge of the Austrian school and puts it in contexts with both biblical images of the world and man and with the theological basis of biblical personalism which forms the basis of the so-called Hussite theology. Representatives of the Austrian school, classical economists, and the philosophers of law, carry the ideas of classical liberalism that has no ambition to substitute either religion (it is empty of dogma) or worldview (it does not interpret the cosmos from a single principle) but possesses valuable knowledge of human behavior in social affairs and principles, to which all the societies of the compound individuals are subject, the Church included. Simply put: We can act in any way, but we cannot choose the consequences of our actions. By this the Austrian school indirectly reminds Christian theology of the need to take more seriously the message of the Old Testament, which by its prescientific means (by the speech of myth), reaches the same conclusions. The Old Testament, with its true relationship to earthly affairs, is the root of a tree whose crown is the New Testament with a message about the redemptive work of Jesus...
