Didactic Methods used in Botany Teaching at Elementary Schools

Didactic Methods used in Botany Teaching at Elementary Schools Diploma thesis concerns the topic of utilizing didactic methods in the education of botanic at the grammar schools. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part, there are described chosen didactic methods and current classification of botanic in the "General education programme of the basic education system". Furthermore, there is described past classification of the botanic in the "Education programme of Grammar school, General school and National school". Second part contains questionnaire results - pupils and teachers of botanic in the 7. grade of grammar school. The goal of the questionnaire was to find out, which teaching methods are used during the education of botanic, which methods are popular and unpopular with teachers as well as students and which methods are, according to the opinions of the teachers, effective and ineffective. Other goal of the questionnaire was to find out, if the teachers are using education programmes during lessons. In the third part of the thesis, there is listed my own proposal of a lesson of a chosen topic in botanic, which I have based on the results of the questionnaires. School project focused on sexually transmitted diseases ABSTRACT This Thesis forms two segments: theoretically oriented and practically oriented. Theoretical background doesn't only deal with development of project-based learning from history to the present but characteristics of project-based learning as such. There is an emphasis on positives at work but also cons that this innovative method brings, analysis of different types of project, important role of a student and a teacher and planning of the project itself. Second segment of theoretical part forms basic information about bacterial and viral diseases (chlamydia, gonorrhea, chancroid, syphilis, hepatitis B, genital herpes, AIDS, genital warts and cervical cancer). Practical part is dedicated to application of theory of project-based learning itself into practice. The result is a formation of a particular project called Sexually transmitted diseases, which is then completed on higher level of high school. Further there is thoroughly described project planning, realization and its evaluation. Knowledge of plants of grammar-school students in Ústí region

In the theoretical part I summarized nowadays Framework educational program at schools in the Czech republic and nowadays educational methods to teaching plants. Also, the thesis describes basic characteristics of plants, methods of plant preservation and research methods that have been used during writing the thesis. The research part indicates the results of the research conducted at grammar-schools in Ústí region and indicates the level of the pupils' knowledge of plants. Furthermore, I have tried to suggest how to make the plant identification tests more intriguing and comprehensible. The thesis uses information obtained from interviews with teachers and survey research carried out among the pupils of Ústí region grammar-schools. Based on the research results I have laid out an optimal number of plant species for teaching the plant identification. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of publications, so I exploited the knowledge and experience of Biology teachers at grammar-schools, and I followed their advice when creating worksheets.
Evaluation of ecological education in Ecocentre Vlašim

The main topic of this thesis is the CUNC basic organization unit and Podblanické Ecocentre CUNC in Vlašim. The first part of the thesis presents the Czech Union for Nature Conservation (CUNC) followed by an overview of its Environmental Centres. The next section contains a summary of all the activities carried out by the CUNC basic organization unit and Podblanické Ecocentre CUNC in Vlašim from their establishment to the present and recapitulates the formation of these organisations themselves. The thesis also covers a characteristic of all the one-day as well as residential teaching programmes for secondary schools, technical schools and grammar schools carried out by the Ecocentre. The greatest emphasis is laid on four selected one-day teaching programmes, for which a research was conducted by using a questionnaire method. Its aim was to determine the influence on pupils and students of the educational programmes from secondary schools, technical schools and grammar schools.
Options of Approach to Teaching of Morphology of Leaf at Lower Secondary School

The thesis deals with the options of approach to teaching leaf morphology at lower secondary schools from both theoretical and emprical point of view. The empirical part is then verified on-site within the teaching process. The theoretical part is dedicated to the topic of leaf and particular aspects of the teaching process. The empirical part at first attempts to conduct a survey of the methods and organization forms of teaching applied at particular lower secondary schools within the teaching of leaf morfology. Afterwards, it analyses selected textbooks used for teaching biology. Next part describes suggested methods and organization forms of teaching applied less frequently during the education. The second goal of the thesis is to put in practice the methods and organization forms of teaching within an educational experiment. Afterwards, a didactic test is used at representative schools to verify the efficiency. At the end of the thesis, the results of the following are presented: the observation of teaching leaf morphology, the analysis of the biology textbooks content, and the didactic test. Recultivations within Mostecko Region and Their Integration to Basic School Education

The aim of this work is to describe North Bohemia brown coal (lignite) basin, as well as history of coal mining, development of this landscape and particulary the restoration of damaged landscape and nature. Theoretical part of my work summarizes the issueof recultivations, included history, types of reclamation, vanished settlements and significant exaples of recultivation. All of it is focused on region around North Bohemian city Most. Practical part's goal is to create an educational programme to increase knowledge of second degree Grammar school pupils about recultivations and to involve them in care about surrounding nature. Research-like education in primary schools

In this thesis, we assume a pan-European issue of the decline of interest in science and science education. In connection with this issue we conducted a literature search. We have also mapped the literature related to the issue of education research in the Czech Republic and the rest of the world. In an effort to increase pupils' interest, increase enthusiasm for science, we deal with activation teaching methods that compare with frontal teaching. As a motivational method we chose a research method of teaching. We prepared a lesson, which we tested among pupils of secondary school. In this work we watched 16 hours in 6 classes. Those lectures were inquiry and frontal way led. The results are presented in the practical part of this thesis. During lectures we wanted to stimulate students' interest in science and science research. Relationship of the secondary schools of pedagogy students to biological curriculum

This diploma thesis deals with the relationship of the secondary schools of pedagogy students to the subject of biology and its particular areas. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical section. The theoretical section surveys the teaching of biology at the secondary schools of teaching based on the Framework educational program for the specialization in preschool and extracurricular pedagogy and pedagogical lyceum and based on the scholastic educational programs of the schools involved in the research. Further, this section also deals with the teaching of biology based on the Framework educational program for preschool education and based on the scholastic educational programs of kindergarten, afterschools and extracurricular facilities. The practical sections deals with the relationship of the secondary schools of pedagogy students to the subject of biology. This is done by using a questionnaire in which the students evaluate their relationship and readiness within their specialization for the practice with respect to biology as a whole on one hand and with respect to its particular areas on the other hand.
