Econometric analysis of sales of toilet paper in Tesco Stores ČR a.s.
Záhorovský, Radek ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
The purpose of this work is to quantify the influences that affect the sales of selected products for toilet paper segment in the retail chain Tesco Czech Republic. The model is based on a long-term observation of the time series of sales and average prices for selected products. For the quantification is used an estimation of exponential function fot model which is subsequently verified. Parameter estimation is calculated by using the software EViews. The work compares the results of the model for different products and searching for the most effective way of promotion for each brand. The calculated parameters can be implemented for the planning of sales for toilet paper segment. The results show differences between branded and private toilet paper brand, that are caused by differences in the perception of quality by consumers.
Evaluation of effectiveness of renewable energy sources
Vrobel, Marcel ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Bíza Bisová, Sára (referee)
The problem of comparing different sectors, companies, or projects occurs very often. This problem arises of poorly chosen metodics or requirements for results. The results of such comparisons are inconclusive and then useless. The contribution of this work is a practical guide which focuses on using of data envelopment models for evaluation of different options. In this thesis DEA models are presented on renewable energy sources. For proper understanding of the problems it is necessary to define what the data envelopment models (also known as DEA models) are. The purpose of this thesis is to inform about their creation and origins and also the description of their function. There is also an introduction into the teory of renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources are evaluated based on their input. In this thesis is a comparison of biomass with solar, water and wind energy.
Analysis of selected hypermarket chain in the cosmetics category by using operation research analysis
Jiroutová, Aneta ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the application of certain operation research methods on a practical example. The main objective is to evaluate and compare hypermarkets of selected retail company on the basis of data from cosmetics department for the year 2013. In the thesis are firstly described theoretical assumptions necessary for understanding the decision theory and DEA models, next part is then focused on selected company and its history, current market position and the different types of store formats. Following practical part shows the application of multicriteria evaluation methods (WSA, TOPSIS, ELECTRE III) and DEA models (CCR and BCC) on concrete intern data and results which are then commented, compared and completed with recommendations, how to eliminate store or stores weaknesses, if needed. All calculations in the practical part of this thesis were done by the supplement of MS Excel -- Sanna and optimalization software LINGO.
Comparison of current accounts by methods of the operational research
Kánová, Eliška ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is a selection of the best current account. This thesis describes how the bank system functions in the Czech Republic. The characteristics of the banking institutions which provide current accounts and the characteristics of the compared current accounts are presented in this thesis. The Monte Carlo method and the methods multi-criteria assessment of variants are described theoretically. The selection is based on the methods of the operational research. The first part of the practical chapter focuses on the Monte Carlo method which selects the best account by charges for different types of clients. The methods of multi-criteria assessment of variants, specifically methods TOPSIS and PROMETHEE, are also applied. The calculations are carried out by add-in SANNA for MS Excel. In conclusion, both approaches to solution are compared and the current account according to the preferences of each client type is recommended.
Multicriterial variants evaluation of financing the property obtained from the tender
Sosnovcová, Lucie ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
The most important aspect in the financial decsion making in buying the property is the financing method, price of the property and how much you need to borrow. The goal of this thesis is to show to the reader at least a basics theories of entering and process of the public procurement and formulate complex process from the assign of procurement through the realization to methods of financing. The goal is the utilization of the methods of multicriterial variants evaluation when evaluating particular products, financing options for the specific property won in the public procurement and researching suitability of individual multicriterial methods. The goal is theoretical description and practical analysis of fundamental mortgage loans with fixed rate and also description of today's mortgage market. The core of this thesis is the chapter with results of the multicriterial optimalization used to the organization and evaluation of individual variants for selected type of loan. In the onclusion is chosen generally the best product.
A selecting of the company’s clients
Jirousková, Nikola ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
This thesis describes the issue of selecting of the company's clients Fragile media s. r. o. The company looks at the financial benefits and time. The target of this thesis is to determine what kind of clients brings to Fragile media s. r. o. the greatest benefit. This issue I will discuss in the practical part of this thesis by using multi-criteria decision making. In next step I will deal with what effect will have other methods of estimating weights of the criteria for the results.
Multi-criteria portfolio analysis in conjunction with parametric programming
Hofmanová, Andrea ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
The presented diploma thesis deals with the issue of multi-criteria decision making in practice. The main aim is to demonstrate the possibilities of involvement the parametric programming in multi-criteria linear programming (MCLP). The first, theoretically oriented chapter, describes the necessary theoretical knowledge. In this chapter is presented the role of financial planning together with essential relationships, by which is determined the rest of the work. This chapter also discusses the issue of multi-criteria linear programming including a description of selected a priori methods. The selected a priori methods are lexicographic method, utility function method, minimization of the distance from the ideal solution and minimal component method. The second chapter is devoted to the practical application of multi-criteria optimization portfolio with a parametric budget. For all the analyzed methods are firstly discussed models without integer conditions, and consequently their modification with these conditions. For the purpose of this work was used solver in MS Excel spreadsheet along with the created macro.
Selection of of electricity supplier for household using methods of operations research
Hesounová, Kristýna ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
Main task of the thesis, as it is clear from its name, is the application of operations research methods, which could be used for selecting suppliers of electricity for the home. In the first part of thesis the functioning of the electricity market in the Czech Republic is explained and the theoretical assumptions, which are necessary for understanding the issue is described. The results of each method are explained in detail and they are compared with results of other methods.
Multiple criteria evaluation of alternatives support systems and their comparison
Kvasničková, Marie ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
Multiple criteria decision making can be divided into two categories, concretely to multiple criteria evaluation of alternatives and multiple criteria programming. This bachelor thesis deals with the easier one -- multiple criteria evaluation of alternatives. Analysis of these problems is in general made with the use of software support, which is vital in these days. Range of this software is wide, whether it's MS Excel application, individual program or web-based application. Aim of submitted thesis is to try out this software. It also deals with brief description of these systems together with their comparison.
Application of methods of inventory optimization in supply chains
Červenka, Daniel ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
As in the stock of trading business is allocated a large part of the capital resources, it is necessary to determine the manner of their control. For this purpose a number of models were developed. Before application to the specific case, these models must be properly adjusted to ensure conformity with reality. The aim of this thesis is to optimize the inventory management of electronic commerce. The stochastic model with loss from unfulfilled orders was chosen as default. First, the necessary adjustments were made to the model and defined input parameters. After filling model with real data, the optimum values of the monitored variables were obtained. The last part deals with the influence of changes in input parameters on the optimal value of variables. Use of the model is not limited to this particular case. Without major modifications, the model is also applicable to other similar problems.
