The World Rice Market

The thesis researches the world rice market and the related international trade with this commodity. It analyzes the worldwide production and consumption of rice and its economic benefits in the global economy. The paper also describes the development and current situation of the international rice trade and the progress of demand, supply and price is examined as well. Another chapter deals with the trade policy of the main importers and exporters and its impacts on the world rice market. The last chapter investigates the forms of international regulations that have been requested by the global rice trade.

The text is supplemented by numerical and graphical data to demonstrate the presented information effectively. The conclusion highlights the goals and motives of China's foreign trade policy, as well as a prediction of the potential role and importance of regionalism in the future.
Development of the balance of payments of the Czech Republic in the last ten years

This bachelor thesis describes the gradual evolution of the balance of payments of Czech Republic in the last ten years, ergo between years 2002 and 2011. It contains a theoretical part which deals with the fundamental characteristics of the balance of payments. The practical part analyzes the specific evolution of the balance of payments of Czech Republic in period 2002-2011. The conclusion is dedicated to the external economic balance of the country, within which focuses on the investment position, foreign debt and the most important balances of the balance of payments.
Zimbabwe - direction of economic developement?

This thesis deals with the economic development of Zimbabwe. It outlines the historical development and describes the factors reflected in the development of independent Zimbabwe, especially in terms of political development of country and its impact on the economic development of the economy. It focuses on the government of Robert Mugabe, the basic features of his government and the subsequent, reforms that led Zimbabwe into a disastrous situation. In particular it tries to describe directions of economic development to both major elections in 2008 and in 2013. It is divided into various decades, which reflects economic and political factors that influenced Zimbabwe. It also explains the influence of these factors on the economy and living standards. At the beginning of its independence, Zimbabwe had good conditions for its further development. Over the years, the Zimbabwean government has adopted several measures and take some decisions that determined the future development of the country.
The trade relationship between the USA and China

Between Chinese and American economy was created a huge trade symbiosis in the last 10 years. This relationship, often called "Chimerica" is not only influencing the situation in the home economies anymore but it is also setting the direction of the world economy. China runs a huge trade surplus with the USA and is indefinitely blamed for this. Contrary to the trade, the USA runs with China a surplus in in the trade in services. Chinese economy is catching up with the American one and in the near future it will become the biggest economy in the whole world. Nevertheless American economy is still more advanced, more productive and based mainly on the service sector. The current trade relationship is mostly based on American consumerism and Chinese production. This is one of the reasons why China became a "banker" to the USA
Impact of the current economic crisis on development aid

The Bachelor Thesis is focused on the impact of current economic crisis on development aid. Both views -- the recipients' and the donors' -- are taken into consideration. The work is divided into three parts. The first chapter deals with the UN programme called Millenium Development Goals and looks into the impact of the crisis on its achieving. The second chapter describes the attitude of developed countries to the problem of development aid during crisis. The last chapter is devoted to two humanitarian organisations: People In Need and Doctors Without Borders; it presents their financial sources and a seriousness of the impact of crisis on their work.
Specific Aspects of the Basque Economy

The thesis focuses on specific economic aspects of the Basque Country, one of the 17 autonomous regions of Spain. Macroeconomic data characterizing the Basque Country are mentioned at the beginning. They form the basis for the evaluation of the Basque position within Spanish economy and comparison with other regions. The main objective is to find the reasons why the Basque Country became one of the most economically successful regions. The conclusion outlines the historical context of Basque separatism and possible solutions of future political situation.
The development and current position of BRICS within the international trade, politics and investment relations

Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) are identified as key countries on the development of the world economy. The post-crisis economic situation evolves in those countries favorably than in the current world centers. The question remains, however, the long-term sustainability of this growth, which is subject to joint cooperation by countries in addressing political, trade and investment issues. The thesis, therefore, addresses the common features in these areas leading to a coherent cooperation in solving their current development and future positioning in the world economy. The thesis is structured in three chapters of the above-mentioned areas, which give us an objective view of the current position of BRICS and define common characteristics and interests of a unified collaboration to sustain their development.
Approaches to solving hunger in selected countries of Sub-Saharan Africa

This thesis discusses the methods of solving hunger in the two selected countries of Sub-Saharan Africa (Ghana, Burundi). Its aim is to introduce the various possibilities of solving the problem of hunger in the world and than comparing these two contrasting economies assess, whether the states use only the different methods of combating hunger, or not. The thesis also suggestes what the selected countries should focus on in the future in order to quickly reduce the number of hungry people. Given the extent of the work the topic is examined only on a small sample of methods.
Oboe in the Chamber Music by Bohuslav Martinů

This master´s thesis is focused on the chamber works by Bohuslav Martinů in which the oboe takes a part in an ensemble. After introduction containing composer´s biography there are chapters dedicated to the specified works with their historical context and compositional techniques. The biggest part of this thesis is about the composition Fanthasy for Theremin, Oboe, String Quartet and Piano H301 and showing history of the first contactless electronic musical instrument theremin as well as information about its inventor Lev Sergejevich Theremin. There is also a comparition between playing this Fantasy with either theremin or Martenot waves because of the similarity of these instruments. Main purpose and motivation to focus this thesis on this composition was personal experience which included playing and recording this piece with german thereminist Carolina Eyck.
