Antoš, Pavel ; Uruba, Václav ; Jonáš, Pavel ; Procházka, Pavel P. ; Skála, Vladislav ; Hoznedl, M. ; Sedlák, K.
The aim of the paper is to demonstrate a use of the hot-wire anemometry for measurement of turbulent fluctuation in a steam turbine. Measurement technique and used methods are presented in the paper. An experimental research was performed in the last stage of LP (lowpressure) part of the 1090 MW steam turbine in nuclear power-plant turbine. The last moving steel blade has a length of 1220 mm. The experiment was carried out by Institute of Thermomechanics of Czech Academy of Science (IT CAS) in cooperation with Doosan Škoda Power s.r.o. (DSPW), the manufacturer of the turbine.
Turbulence Measurement in the Model Turbine Škoda
Jonáš, Pavel ; Uruba, Václav ; Antoš, Pavel ; Hoznedl, M. ; Sedlák, K.
Time-averaged unsteady flow characteristics were investigated by CTA thermoanemometer with a rotary hot-wire downstream the LP stage of the 10 MW experimental turbine ŠKODA. The direction and the magnitude of mean velocity vector, the components of turbulent heat transfer vector and the components of Reynolds stress tensor were evaluated from the measurement in the superheated water steam.
BOUNDARY LAYER SEPARATION IN DIFFUSER
Uruba, Václav ; Sedlák, K.
Boundary layer separation in diffuser is studied experimentally using time resolved PIV technique. Space and time velocity field correlations are studied in context of mean pressure distribution.
Proudění v okolí Ahmedova tělesa
Uruba, Václav ; Sedlák, K.
Flow in wake of a car model was studied experimentally in a wind channel. The model was designed on the basis of so called Ahmed body in ratio 3 : 20, width of the model was from wall to wall, no gap, prismatic shape. We concentrated out our attention on upper rear part of the model, separation of the boundary layer from roof and formation of the wake. The upper part of the wake forming a free shear layer was studied in detail. Two variants of the model with slant angles = 25° and 35° was examined respectively. Angle 25° shows more or less attached flow, while angle 35° generates fully detached flow from the ramp.
Vortical Structures in a Boundary Layer Separation Region
Uruba, Václav ; Sedlák, K.
Boundary layer separation in adverse pressure gradient flow is examined experimentally using time resolved PIV technique. Appearance and behavior of vortical structures is studied using spatiotemporal analysis methods. Strong vortices are detected close to outer border of the separation zone.
