The Creation and Primary History of the Early and Hight Middle Ages Sacral Center of Romanesque Galleried Church of St. Jacob the Greater in Vroutek u Podbořan

Name of work: The Creation and Primary History of the Early and Hight Middle Ages Sacral Center of Romanesque Galleried Church of St. Jacob Větší in Vroutek u Podbořan Summary: In the first chapter I resume the existing art-historical, historyographycal and archeological finding of theme "Church of St. Jacob Větší in Vroutek". Next I deal with colonisation of teritory around Vroutek and with history of village Vroutek. In the next chapter I deal with Hrabišici, especially with Kojata Hrabišic, with which the beginning of the church is associated. I deal with the testaments, by which Kojata buqueathed Vroutek for the monastery of Křižovníci in Zderaz in Prague. Next I describe the interior, the exterior and the vicinage of the church. In the next chapter I try to do the reconstruction of original condition of the church and I catch rebuildings of the church. Especially I describe the reconstruction in the end of 16th century and the reconstruction in the second half of 20th century. I deal with analogies to the church in Vroutek too. Finally I try to describe the creation of sacral center of the church.
Folk religiosity during High Middle Ages and Early Modern times as reflected in material culture

Folk religiosity during High Middle Ages and Early Modern times as reflected in material culture (the example of small ceramic sculpture) This work focuses on study of religious practice and urban everyday life of urban folk groups in Prague Towns from High Middle Ages till Early Modern times. The most common archaeological artifacts reflecting religious practice are small clay figurines found both in urban and in rural environment. These figurines made of fired clay depict in most cases Madonna with Christ-child and various saints, nevertheless profane figurines and various zoomorphic artifacts can be found too. This work is focused mainly on findings of clay figurines obtained during the large archeological excavation on Republic Square in Prague, which offered a unique collection of artifacts dated from 1250 to 1600. Analogies from the Central Europe will be considered in the process of evaluation of the assemblage mentioned above. It is not known exactly what the purpose of these artifacts was and it is still a subject of discussion, into which we will try to bring some new light. Right iconographic interpretation requires a comparation with some other objects of folk religiosity and urban everyday life (such as medallions and other small holy objects, pilgrim signs, pilgrimage pictures,...
The origins of the sacral center in Stara Boleslav in the early 10th century

This bachelor thesis, "The Establishment of the Stara Boleslav at the beginning of the 10th century", is devoted to the establishment of Stara Boleslav and the first sacral center in this area, curch of St. Cosma and Damian. First of all it deals with the founding of the Přemysslid castle , chat was the ground plan, if it was fortificated and what was the type of the fortification, what kind of buildings were situated in this area. Finally, this chapter deals with the legends of St. Wenceslav, in which the authors afer to the Stara Boleslav or just to the Boleslav's castle. This is followed by chapter which is dealing with the church of St. Cosma and Damian, where it was situated, waht it looked like, from what material it was built. In connection with the material of hic construction, the thesis also deals with analogies from the same period. The last chapter then deals with the archeological researches of the the area, the beginnigs of researches, researches in the church of St. Wenceslav and above all with the churchyard findings in the area of the castle and its bailey.
The try of reconstruction sacral topography with special attention of church st. James the Greater in Jihlava in Middle Ages

RESUME The concern of this thesis is one of the sacred building of Jihlava town, the parish church of St. Jacob the Bigger. The main object of interest is the oldest history of this temple, which extends to the time of forming of its own city. It attempts to summarize the known knowledge and also to consider the new findings, mostly the character of archaeology. Therein, it is needed to mention, that most of the founded situations were not appropriately to the moment of usage accessed, concerning the state of actual examination, which is limited by building reconstructions. Generally, it is possible to state, that the actual results seem to be aligned with the historical development of the temple. The attention was dedicated also to church building, which is thought to be built before the today's temple, we consider this from different angles of point of views. The one of them was the intention to examinate the possibility of destruction by the fire, which is indicated in pope list as well as the susceptibility measures of construction parts originated from this building, later on used on the actual church building. Monastery Rosa Coeli - the oldest noble foundation in Moravia

Name of thesis Convent Rosa Coeli - the eldest noble foundation in Moravia This interdisciplinary thesis is focused on Rosa Coeli, the Gothic ruin, located in Dolni Kounice near by Brno. It is the oldest female Premonstratensian monastery in Moravia, which is at the same time example of the oldest noble foundation which is dated back to 1181. The thesis is based on a solid Heuristic analysis of the various written sources, which are additionally confronted with the various scientific disciplines. The first part condenses an overview of current research developments which includes inventory of various sources. It is followed by a architectonic description of the monastery and by the hypotheses about its development. It is continued by analysis of three (previously) unreleased documents, which provide particular insight into the development and construction of the monastery. The very fundamental source is the Pope Boniface's document which was issued in 1390. It states that the construction of the monastery had to happen after the year 1390 so it do es not coincide with the analysis of some architectural fragments -this conclusion is still open. The Establishment and Constructional History of St. Nicolas Church in the High and Late Middle Ages and during Early Modernity in the City of České Budějovice

I. Název bakalářské práce: Foundation and building history of St. Nicholas Church in the period of top and late Middle Ages and early modern period in the town České Budějovice1 II. Anotace: In my work I deal with not only the oldest period of building of St. Nicholas Church in the town České Budějovice in the 13-th and 14-th century, but I include new information into regional and church- administrative context. According new connections from literature written and non-written sources and new information I devide the building history into 3 periods connected with economical power and policy of town and reformatory transformation of the Church. The first period defines years 1265-1279, i.e. beginning of building the Church and date of it's interruption of money shortage. Maybe before 1297 was consecrated not finished. The second period defines years 1297-1335 and during this period was building of the Church. Last period is after 1335. And since that we have big source fund showing us Church area, altar beneficious and stay of clergy. We can see, that these historical periods are connected with economical and political power, which after 1265 looked for it's home. Resumé: The Establishment and Primal Development of Sacral Centre by the Saint Nicolas Church {today St. Egidius} in Royal Town Nymburk The study is based on cross-disciplinary methodic, on work with written and unwritten founts relating to beginnings and development of sacral centre by the St. Nicolas Church in Nymburk in the 13th and 14th century. St. Nicolas Church {today St. Egidius} has not already regular constructional and historical research. The study endeavors to ascertain amount of presumable appearance of the presbytery of the church. It aims to size up, which ones from the architectonical wholes or details should be original, historical and what times they could have been from. Long-term transformation of the church building can be research from the unwritten founts and single building. The latest discovering of old remains of constructional phases of the church appertains to Hilbert's restoration. The quantity of his plans and drawings has not already been studied in detail and there have not been any criticism of them. The creation of ecclesiastic organization in Jihlava and its surroundings in early and high middle ages

Resume This bachelor thesis considers the vast theme of habitation and first Church organization in Jihlava and its close surroundings in early and peak period of the Middle Age. First of all it pursues to summarize the up to now findings and to create the compact view on this theme. The resources were the literature, written and image sources, as well the building of the St. Jan Křtitel church to which the roots of pre-location habitation of Jihlava town are definitely related. The most original appearance of the church is unknown, thus the reconstruction of the original appearance is more likely the working hypothesis that uses the knowledge and researches from the year 1984. In part, this thesis also considers the aspect of the natural conditions that undoubtedly influenced the habitation process. The attempt of the definition of old Jihlava parish and localization of its villages coheres very closely with it. The possible questions for the future research are proposed in the conclusion.
