Teaching of Foreign Languages on Mobile Devices
Janča, David ; Samek, Jan (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of foreign language teaching applications for mobile devices. The applications teach phrases and words using effective adaptive algorithms. Educational algorithms adapt to the user by using information from the course of learning in order to maximize teaching effectiveness. The thesis presents educational algorithms and programming in XCode for iOS. The creation of an educational application is composed of several disciplines and so the thesis deals with topics such as the theory of teaching, choice of target mobile platforms, an overview of popular educational applications and user testing.
Trust and Reputation in Distributed Systems
Samek, Jan ; Návrat,, Pavol (referee) ; Šafařík,, Jiří (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
This Ph.D. thesis deals with trust modelling for distributed systems especially to multi-context trust modelling for multi-agent distributed systems. There exists many trust and reputation models but most of them do not dealt with the multi-context property of trust or reputation. Therefore, the main focus of this thesis is on analysis of multi-context trust based models and provides main assumptions for new fully multi-contextual trust model on the bases of them. The main part of this thesis is in providing new formal multi-context trust model which are able to build, update and maintain trust value for different aspects (contexts) of the single entity in the multi-agent system. In our proposal, trust value can be built on the bases of direct interactions or on the bases on recommendations and reputation. Moreover we assume that some context of one agent is not fully independent and on the bases of trust about one of them we are able to infer trust to another's. Main contribution of this new model is increasing the efficiency in agent decision making in terms of optimal partner selection for interactions. Proposed model was verified by implementing prototype of multi-agent system when trust was used for agents' decision making and acting.
Flight Simulator Based on Jason Multi-Agent System
Punčochářová, Pavlína ; Zbořil, František (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a 2D flight simulator using Jason multi-agent system and AgentSpeak language. In this simulator, the aircrafts will be represented by agents and their behavior will be described by plans implemented in AgentSpeak language. Agents will use these plans to demonstrate different types of behavior such as detection and collision avoidance, the taking of a position or persecution. The final application consists of two parts - the simulation module and the user interface. Simulation module is the core of simulator and it is created in the Jason system. The user interface provides the possibility to control simulations and creating user simulation models.
Program for Calibrated Raster Maps
Kalčík, Vojtěch ; Samek, Jan (referee) ; Horáček, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the displaying of calibrated maps and with the processing of the points of interest. Points of interest can be obtained from the images with Exif information about the position of photographing. The thesis describes the basic concepts of Geoinformatics, the principle of GPS, format of calibrated maps, some other data formats such as Exif, GPX and the resulting program.
Real-time text translation with using mobile devices
Sztefek, Lukáš ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is design and implementation of Android application which will serve as real-time translator from one language to another, including several world languages and Czech. The text obtained from image is translated and replaces the original one with keeping its visual look as much as possible. The reader gradually gets familiar with getting text from images, text translation, displaying text on mobile device and Android OS implementation. In conclusion, the experiments with multiple input images and comparison of existings applications have been done.
Multi-Context Reputation System for WWW
Kadlec, Petr ; Zbořil, František (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
This Diploma Thesis introduces the basic concepts of reputation and trust, reputation systems and problems of multi-contextual models of reputation. It also describes practical aspects of multi-contextual models in web environment. Described contextual models are then used for design and implementation of real web application.
Application Development for Wireless Sensor Networks Using TOSSIM
Žídek, Petr ; Samek, Jan (referee) ; Zbořil, František (advisor)
This bachelors thesis is focused on wireless sensor networks  implementation tools based on programming language NesC  solution specific operation system TinyOS. It describes, simulates  and implements two crutial net protocols Dissemination and  Collection in detail. Last but not least it delinates method how to  practically install applications into MicaZ nodes with support of  TinyOS.
Web Interface for Data Administration
Samek, Jan ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of proposing and implementing a web application designed for data administration. This application enables the administrator to create and graphically modify presentations of data configurations, which are consequently presented to the end users. The application also contains a template subsystem that makes the process of creating the presentations more efficient. This system provides the end users with tools by dint of which it is easy to organize the displayed information and to manipulate it. The logical part of the application is implemented in the PHP programming language and the database uses the MySQL technology. The programming languages utilized for realization of user space consist of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Solving Optimization Tasks by ACO Algorithms
Habrnál, Matěj ; Samek, Jan (referee) ; Zbořil, František (advisor)
The presented thesis puts its main focus on the basic optimization algorithms ACO (Ant Colony Optimization) and their development and seeks the inspiration in the ants live. The aim is to demonstrate the activity of these algorithms on optimization problems - the traveling salesman problem and the finding food sources problem and optimal routes between an anthill and food. The thesis also describes experiments that try to determine the influence of adjustable parameters of ant algorithms. First, ACO algorithms theory is described followed then by the application of these algorithms on both selected optimization problems. The conclusion sums up experiments analysis with established applications and evaluating prospective results.
Auto-Generation of Examples for Assembly Languages Course
Tomeček, Aleš ; Žák, Jakub (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
{This study analyses approaches to generation of unique assignments for teaching purposes and their potential usefulness for computer labs of assemblers course. Based on that research we design and implement system for creating pseudo unique assignments. As part of the work is also included web application for use directly during course and other tools aiding further work with system itself.
