Coproducing in Opera
Kamenická, Kristýna ; SRSTKA, Jiří (advisor) ; HORČIČKOVÁ, Jana (referee)
The thesis Coproducing in Opera discusses opera productions and opera joint projects that are based on the cooperation between theatres or festivals. While the thesis provides an insight into various issues of contemporary Czech opera scene, it comments on positive impact of the coproduction. For the respective theatres, the coproduction decreases the costs of the production, as well as it broadens the repertory. Yet, the coproduction shows are still quite rare. The thesis describes a process of a creation of such a project in the theatre operated by more than one theatre company; it discusses it's specific management and contractual relationships. The thesis also mentions other types of cooperation, e.g. purchase of the production or lease of the production. The opera coproduction is the future of the Czech opera theatre.
Prague theaters in the profit sector
Jordan, Hanuš ; PROKOP, Petr (advisor) ; SRSTKA, Jiří (referee)
This thesis is mainly focused on a detailed study of three theatres in profitable bussiness sector in Prague. Considering sensitive nature of the economic data, some of the information about the for-profit theatres presented below are actually published for the first time. The author also studies Mestska divadla prazska (City Theatres of Prague), a contributory organisation of the city of Prague. On academic level, the author of this work suggests a dissolution of the union of the City Theatres of Prague. He proposes that the space of once freed ABC Theatre should be rented to a new keeper with a profitable legal personality. Thanks to this, the city of Prague would get considerable financial savings and could keep maintenance of the representative theatre in the very center of metropolis at the same time. The author actually offers three possible models of operations for this newly-emerged subject. He prepared programming and budgets for two theatre seasons for the three cases. In the last chapter he considers the most eligible model. Is it possible to run this bussiness model with profit? On what conditions?

Battěk, Jan ; SRSTKA, Jiří (advisor) ; JEŽEK, Vlastimil (referee)
Czech dubbing is in crisis. The current situation has been provoked by the Czech Actors' Association's respectable effort to equalize the terms of salaries and raise them following the example of neighbouring Germany. Yet does the quality of dubbing correlate with the size of performers' salaries? Is it possible to unify wages in the private sector? Are dubbing distributors interested in higher quality at higher production costs?

Košařová, Eva ; SRSTKA, Jiří (advisor) ; SVOBODOVÁ, Doubravka (referee)
Annotation The thesis "Economy of theatre foundation" aims to show all the contingencies that should be done before founding the theater, but not in the sense of artistic vision or permission from the competent authorities, but on the basis of calculations, analyzes, calculations and considerations, how the theater should be working effectively. The work is mainly focused on the part of the budget devoted to the main activity, which is further divided into fixed costs and the variable factors such as number of artistic and technical employees, the number of seats in the auditorium, ticket price, number of playing days and attendance. Then, based on these funds, we can see, how big the influence of the different variables is on the overall result of the budget theater. One chapter is also devoted to human resources that are closely connected to the budget, not only because they often represent more than two thirds of its value. For your convenience, as an example we worked out a plan of a new private theater in Pilsen, which should be provided with facilities for the activity from a private investor. In conclusion of the thesis we can see proposal of an ideal solution to the situation.
Protection of personal rights in theatre practice
Topinka, Jan ; SRSTKA, Jiří (advisor) ; CHLOUPEK, Vojtěch (referee)
In this thesis I have described historical development of the right to the protection of personal rights from their establishment up to the present legal regulations. I paid great attention to description of particular elements of the personal rights both in the area of general rights and special ones. Those elements of personal rights are the ones I often encounter in the frame of artistic production. I tried to interpret basic principles and rules related to the elements of personal rights. Today, we can see many cases in public life directly affected by these issues, so I consider this topic to be a very hot issue. This thesis aims at making this area of legal aspects related to conducting theatre activities more transparent to a wider population of theatre managers.

Urbánková, Monika ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (advisor) ; SRSTKA, Jiří (referee)
Diploma thesis "Director of the National Theatre - statute development" was primarily created as a historically-explorational work, which helps to look into this inherent chapter of the Czech republic history from a different point of view that is usual. The very core part comprises of the National Theatre statutes, which are described through similar pattern and thus bring natural comparison of this institution evolution. The Diploma thesis begins in the year 1929, when the nationalism of the National Theatre took place, and culminates with the first democratic statute in the year 1993, or more precisely with its novella in 1994. The work is enriched by look into the history of our country, as every chapter starts with a short summary of given time period for easier reader's orientation. Part not to be also missed is formed by legal aspects concerning the National Theatre in selected time period. I believe, that the work "Director of the National Theatre - statute development" will be useful to all future readers, who would like to understand the basic functioning of this organisation and the role of its director over the period of more than sixty years.

Hůlková, Kateřina ; SRSTKA, Jiří (advisor) ; VYSKOČIL, František (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to create a collection of the most commonly used types of theatre contracts and of their practical applications in theatre practice. The opening passage informs the reader about legal forms applicable for theatre activities. The main part of the work analyses legal conditions related to those contract types that are most commonly applied in theatre. The final part treats the application of contract types in theatre practice. So this part refers to concrete theatre professions and the contracts types concludable with them by the theatre. The following bachelor's thesis could become a helpful students' aid at the Department of Arts management at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague ? both for study purposes and realization of new theatre projects.
