Environmental topics of Czech influencers

The aim of the thesis is the study of the phenomenon of environmental influencers and their relationship with responsibility. The theoretical part defines the nature of these modern opinion leaders from generations Y and Z. Moreover, it approaches the concept of responsibility from an ethical standpoint with focus placed on its environmental dimensions, and differentiates between its three constitutive aspects - the object, referential subject and the subject. Finally, the examination is grounded in the contextual framework of an individualized society defined by its increased emphasis on the role of an individual. The research part analyses the approach of social media influencers towards responsibility for their actions in the digital domain and the extent to which they are aware of their respective influences. It further examines whom they hold responsible for the climate crisis and the role of the individual in this context. Through qualitative research methods, including the analysis of shared content and semi-structured interviews, the thesis details the various approaches taken by the subjects of the study and subsequently subdivides them into two categories: educators and lifestyle influencers. Community supported agriculture - Case Study KomPot

Master thesis Community Supported Agriculture - Case Study KomPot examines functioning of the KomPot association and its development since 2012 when the association was founded. The thesis also describes its members and seeks their reasons for joining and their opinions about KomPot. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the term Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) which has its origins in the 1970's in Japan and has been developing rapidly in the Czech Republic for the last two years. The CSA theme is put into the context of the terms community and agriculture first. Then it is explained what CSA means and what its characteristics are. The terms food sovereignty, food self-sufficiency and food security are described as well for they are closely related to CSA. For a detailed comprehension of the topic the thesis explores the CSAs in the world, which can show the diversity of CSA. A part of the research is the question asked by a research team in the frames of Specific University Research of the Charles University in Prague that examines to what extent CSA is a resistance strategy to the modern society individualisation and commodification. Environmental attitudes - village versus city

This work explores the influence of place of residence on the environmental attitudes and particularly their formation. I try to find differences in environmental attitudes of respondents from village and town in the context of other factors which have influence on formation of environmental attitudes. These factors are family environment, personal nature experience or impact of social environment. For this reason, I conducted a case study of environmental attitudes and their formation process of the respondents from the village Hostouň and respondents from the Capital City of Prague. The theoretical part focuses on attitudes in general and issues of environmental attitudes. It provides an overview of socio- demographic factors which do affect the environmental attitudes, mainly the place of residence. I also deal with the measurement of environmental attitudes, and define the terms village and town. The empirical part provides analysis of twenty semistructured interviews - ten respondents from the village and ten respondents from the city. Current state and future perspectives of Tatra National Park from the viewpoint of stakeholders

The main research objectives of this master thesis are the stakeholders and their opinions on the management of Tatra National Park in Slovakia. There are many stakeholders in the national park and each one has different interests. The objective is to find a compromise between the protection of the nature and the degree to which the national park would be used for human purposes. As a result, the area would also be managed in accordance with the national legislation and international guidelines (IUCN) category II and also provide human society with a variety of benefits. The goal of the thesis is to find out how this management will look like in practice. Qualitative interviews were used in order to obtain the opinions of the main stakeholders. Framework analysis has been applied to analyse all the interviews. Phenomenon of walking

The thesis is focused on the phenomenon of walking and it's influence on the human perception of the environment. Walking is conceived here as a sustainable way of life and is discussed in three different dimensions: social, environmental and spiritual. It therefore maps the meaning of walking in the human life and it's impact on the environmental concern. The social, environmental and spiritual dimension of walking is presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. There is an analysis of the influence of walking on human health, formation and evolution of hiking trails and ways of the human life within them. In addition, it also deals with the concept of the perception of the nature and the human relation to it. The empirical part of the thesis introduces quantitative research of the pedestrians environmental concern which was carried out in the form of a questionnaire survey. The data from this research is then compared with the data from a representative sample of the population of the Czech Republic obtained in the framework of ISSP Environment III research. Barriers of Development of Biomass Growing for Energy Purposes in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis "Barriers of development of biomass growing for energy purposes in the Czech Republic" deals with an actual topic - renewable energy sources in the context of presently often discussed problem of climate change. The most perspective renewable energy source in the Czech Republic is biomass. It can be obtained from residues from agriculture, forestry and food processing industry (residual biomass) or it can be grown on purpose. Residual biomass cannot cover the current and future needs and fulfil the target of 8 % share of electricity production from renewables on gross consumption by 2010 set in the EU Accession treaty. Therefore it is necessary to support the development of biomass growing for energy purposes that has a significantly higher potential and is on the threshold of its development. The thesis analyses conditions of this development in the Czech Republic on the background of international context and aims for identifying its barriers.

The Influence of the Economic Crisis on Corporate Social Responsibility Activities

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and describe the relevance of corporate social responsibility activities. Due to the fact that, one of the basic characteristics of Corporate Social Responsibility, is long-term in character, which requires a dedication to CSR activities, even in times of financial difficulties when company does not have the optimal results, this thesis shows how selected companies fulfill the concept of CSR. The theoretical part is divided into two parts - the first is the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, which focuses on the development, pillars, benefits and concepts associated with this concept. I deal with crisis and describe financial crisis, economic crisis, its development, causes and consequences in the next part. The empirical part of this thesis is based on the methodological triangulation - expert interviews, documented examination and comparison. This thesis sampled five selected companies and shows how these companies perceive CSR, what activities they have implemented, how to cope with the crisis that affected them and how it affected the implementation of CSR activities.
