Procházková, Martina ; Malý, Josef (advisor) ; Rozsívalová, Petra (referee)
Abstarct Analysis of the Therapy in Patients with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Author: Martina Procházková Tutor: PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aims: Methotrexate (MTX) is an effective and safe drug used for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and is well-known like a golden standart in the treatment of this serious illness. The aim of this study was analysis of therapy in patients with JIA focusing on MTX and faktors affecting its intolerance. Methods: The study was undertaken from January 2017 to February 2018 at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Patients younger than 18 years old, who have become ill with JIA for the first time or repeatedly between years 2015-2017 and were treated by MTX were included in this study. The prevalence of MTX intolerance was measured by "Methotrexate Intolerance Severity Score" questionaire every 3 months during regular rheumatological examinations. Simultaneously, medical records were reviewed. Data analysis was performed by means of descriptive statistics, correlation dependence and statistical signifikance of dependence was assessed with statistical two-choice...
Analysis of antibiotic administration in prophylaxis II.
Bobčíková, Martina ; Malý, Josef (advisor) ; Rozsívalová, Petra (referee)
Analysis of antibiotic administration in prophylaxis II Author: Martina Bobčíková Tutor: doc. PharmDr. Josef Malý, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Anna Patková, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aims: The term antibacterial prophylaxis (AP) refers to antibiotic (ATB) administration in prevention of surgical site infection (SSI). There are many factors in population which can potentially raise the risk of the incidence of SSI. The maintenance of basic rules of the AP and knowledge, influence and timely elimination of risk factors of SSI are the most important measures which can reduce a number of postoperative SSI. The aim of this study was to analyze antibiotic administration in prophylaxis in the local hospital in the Czech Republic and compare the results to well known international guidelines (ASHP-G) and latest scientific knowledge (LSK). Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted in October 2019. During the period from 2nd to 23rd October, the data of surgeries and used AP were collected. The patients who passed the entry criteria have been included in this study. Into prepared form, patient's identification, agreement, diagnosis, surgery type, operation date, the beginning and the end of surgery,...
The influence of pulse glucocorticoid therapy on ECG
Juríková, Nikola ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Rozsívalová, Petra (referee)
Candidate: Nikola Juríková1 Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Jiří Vlček, CSc.1 Consultant: doc. MUDr. Tomáš Soukup, PhD.2 1 Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University 2 2nd Department of Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology, University Hospital in Hradec Králové Title of the master thesis: Effect of pulse glucocorticoid therapy on ECG Glucocorticoid pulse therapy (PT) is used to terminate acute exacerbations of immunologically mediated diseases. The aim of this thesis was to analyze the influence of methylprednisolone (MP) PT on ECG changes, mainly on QT interval, as prolonged QT interval may induce ventricular arrhythmias and to identify other risk factors (RF) for QT prolongation. Data were gained retrospectively from medical records of patients hospitalized at II. Internal Gastroenterology Clinic of University Hospital Hradec Králové. QT was corrected to QTc using Bazzet (QTcB) and Fridericia (QTcF) formula, QTc >450 ms (men) and QTc >460 ms (women) was considered prolonged. QTc changes before and after pulse therapy were determined as ∆QTc. 325 pulses of MP were administered to 277 patients (66,0 % women), ECG was available in 94,2 % (n=306 from 325). After PT there was significant ∆QTcF 14,6 ms (p <0,001) and ∆QTcB 5,6 ms (p <0,001)....

The analysis of drug-related problems potentially leading to hospitalization among geriatric patients
Očovská, Zuzana ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Rozsívalová, Petra (referee)
Candidate: Zuzana Očovská1 Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Jiří Vlček, CSc.1 Consultant: PharmDr. Martina Maříková2 1 Department Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University 2 University Hospital Hradec Králové, Hospital Pharmacy, Head of the Division of Clinical Pharmacy Title of the master thesis: The analysis of drug-related problems potentially leading to hospitalization among geriatric patients Hospital admissions due to drug-related problems (DRPs) represent a relevant clinical issue with significant economic consequences. Polypharmacy and age-related pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes make elderly patients particularly prone to develop DRP. The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis was to introduce the issue of drug-related problems and to outline the results of previous studies concerning drug-related hospitalizations among geriatric patients. The aim of the practical part was to determine the prevalence of DRP potentially leading to hospitalization and to identify the most common medication classes involved in these DRPs. Over the period of six months 200 admissions to geriatric ward of III. Internal Gerontometabolic Clinic of University Hospital Hradec Králové have been retrospectively evaluated in order to determine whether the...
