Sanatorium with Speleotherapy for Childern Ostrov u Macochy

Designed children´s sanatorium is situated on the cadastral area of Ostrova u Macochy town, in the protected area of Moravsky Kras. The architecture of this building fits in the surroundings of the landscape and respects its features. The building main attributes are its south-facing slope, the compositional construction from prefabricated reinforced concrete structure and perimeter sandwich structure, as well as the massive insulation. Thanks to these characteristics, it is classified as energy-efficient building. These eight buildings, interconnected by the massive colonnade in its middle axis, force the user to take advantage of all its energy-efficient advantages.

The Reconstruction, and the Re-use of the St. Thomas Yard in Brno

The complex of „Svatotomassky dvor“ creates after its reconstruction a place for social, cultural and sport activities.This object is an exemplary joinder of modern technologies and historical elements with the emphasis on its own traditional handcrafted construstion. The spirit of this place leads a visitor to demur to precise work of our antcestors in the contrast with composed modern architecture. The complex is complemented by components of fine architecture (such as pavillon, fountain, …) with undertone and memory of horses which had to be replaced because of new functional utilization. It deals with reconstruction and revitalization of four historical objects. From the constructional point of view it deals with one and two-storeyed objects based on concrete fundaments with bearing walls bricked up from building brick that is fully burnt about total thickness 0,3-0,85m and with wooden roof construction. The roof is covered by burnt tile roofing. The top walls in objects are made of semi-burnt wooden joist construction. Within the frame of reconstruction, predominant part of framework will be preserved.

Free Time Institutions for Youth up to 18 Years

Bachelor thesis deals with chosen institution for free time of children and youth. Theoretical
part is delimited for definitions of basic terms related to free time. Influence of environment
on education and educational activities and also patologies are described here. Other chapters
are dealing with definitions of leisure time spending, leisure time activities and insitutions.
Analytical part includes analysis of selected institution. The analysis is focused on
equipment, staff, services and financing. The aim is to find out whether the organization
fulfills its mission and has enough money. In the beggining of analytical history of the
institution and basic information are introduced. The results of the analysis are reviewed and
recommendations for improvement are made at the end.
