Lill, Adam ; Rambousková, Jolana (advisor) ; Křížová, Petra (referee)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the diet impact on dental caries in adolescents. Nutrition and its components contribute significantly to the development of carious lesions and overall oral health. The study was conducted in a dental office in Planá u Mariánských Lázní with the help of a dentist and dental hygienists. The age range of 10-19 years, which meets the WHO definition of adolescence, was a condition for inclusion. The study was conducted by questionnaire survey, and a total of 52 patients (24 boys and 28 girls) participated. Patient's attitudes, nutritional knowledge, dietary habits and number of new cavities since the previous visit were collected. The data obtained were statistically evaluated by Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test for four-field tables. Statistical significance was determined as p ≤ 0,05 (5 %). Dental caries at dental check-up was 46 %, at the previous dental check-up was 52 %, 77 % of the patients performed oral hygiene twice a day, 54 % consumed sweetened beverages most often, 23 % consumed sweet foods once a day. The oral hygiene status of each respondent was assessed and only 8 % of respondents had excellent oral hygiene status. Statistical significance was not demonstrated in the groups with and without dental caries in relation to consumption of sugary...

Procházková, Linda ; Rambousková, Jolana (advisor)
The aim of this work was to validate and verify changes in the students of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University regarding their lifestyle and nutritional status with emphasis on the actual nutrition itself. Voluntary male and female students of 1st and 6th year were measured and their BMI values and percentage of body fat values were recorded using methods of bioimpedance measurement and questionnaires targeting their lifestyles and eating habits. A total of 35 female students of 1st year was measured as compared to 27 in their 6th year of studies and a total of 27 male students of 1st year compared to 7 in the 6th year. Questionnaire was filled in by 41 female students of the 1st year, 31 female students of the 6th year. Male students who filled in the questionnaire numbered 23 in the 1st year compared to 13 in the 6th year of their studies. In accordance of our hypothesis we came to conclusion that BMI index values and the percentage of body fat have midly risen in the students of the 6th year compared to the students of the 1st year. However, regarding lifestyle, a higher sport activity and lower use of alcohol and tobacco products was detected with female students of the 6th year in comparison with female students of the 1st year.
Microbiome of the human body and most commonly used probiotics by patients from pharmaceutical practice
Plíšková, Zuzana ; Rambousková, Jolana (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Pavel (referee)
This work is divided into theoretical and practical. Theoretical part discusses human microbiome, probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics. Beginning work describes the human microbiome, as a living ecosystem consisting of several hundred species of microorganisms, its development from birth to adulthood, for proper functioning of all organ systems including the skin. Normal microbial flora prevents the body against infection, re-creates health and serve as an example to prevent traveler's diarrhea. In cases which cause reduction in the number of microorganisms (constipation, diarrhea, antibiotic therapy, and others), the body needs help using probiotic products, usually in the form of capsules, for the faster restoration of the normal microbial flora. It is important to choose a formulation which is suitable for the chosen target - that is, select whether purely probiotic or prebiotic agent combined with differently therefore termed synbiotic. Practical part deals with statistical data processing of the sales of probiotic products for a period of one year and determines the trend of sales. The results show seasonal marketability, probiotics, when it occurs more in the summer months. To demonstrate higher sales of probiotic products was used to compare data from 2012 and 2017 from a pharmacy Mlada...

Šašková, Klára ; Dlouhý, Pavel (advisor) ; Rambousková, Jolana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the complementary sale of food products in schools and school facilities, which is, at the moment, regulated by the appropriate statute (the Decree No. 282/2016 Coll., on requirements on food products for which an advertisement is allowed and which can be offered for sale and be sold in schools and school facilities). In the theoretical part of this thesis, the contemporary legislation on the subject-matter is described first. A brief chapter is dedicated to school meals. Subsequent chapters are devoted to requirements set for child food and the question of technological opportunities for food modification. The underlying goal of the theoretical part was to raise awareness of the contemporary alarming state with a growing trend of the obesity occurrence and to provide the reasoning why an emphasis on a proper food, especially during childhood, is so essential and, consequently, why a certain level of legal regulation in this field is desired. In the practical part of this thesis, food products, which satisfy the requirements set forth by the Decree No. 282/2016 Coll., were searched for. The results were projected into tables and they were verbally evaluated in the form of a discussion and they were compared with the requirements, which are now set forth...
