Modern methods of directional image representation
Mucha, Martin ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Zátyik, Ján (advisor)
Transformation methods are used to describe the image based on defined shapes, which are called bases or frames. Thanks to these shapes it is possible to transform the image with the help of calculated transformation coefficients and further work with this image. It is possible to image denoising, reconstruct the image, transform it and do other things. There are several types of methods of the image processing. In this field a significiant development could be seen. This study is focused on analysis of characteristics of individual well known methods of transformation such as Fouriers´s or Wavelet´s. For comparison, there are also new chosen methods of transformation described: Ripplet, Curvelet, Surelet, Tetrolet, Contourlet and Shearlet. Functional toolboxes were used for comparison of individual methods and their characteristics. These functional toolboxes were modified for the possibility of limitation of transformation coefficients for their potential use in subsequent reconstruction.
Interactive study utilities focused on computer graphics
Malina, Jakub ; Průša, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
In this thesis we focus on the basic properties of computer curves and their practical applicability. We explain how the curve can be understood in general, what are polynomial curves and their composing possibilities. Then we focus on the description of Bézier curves, especially the Bézier cubic. We discuss in more detail some of the fundamental algorithms that are used for modelling these curves on computers and then we will show their practical interpretation. The aim of the thesis is the creation of the set of interactive Java applets, simulating some of the methods and algorithms discussed in the theoretical part. These applets will help facilitate understanding of theoretical knowledge and will make the teaching more effective. Lecturers and students of the Brno University of Technology will be able to test these applets on web pages.
Applications of linear algebra and optimization in sound signal processing
Kolbábková, Anežka ; Veselý, Vítězslav (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is focused on sparse representation of audio signals. It consists of theoretical introduction to basic issues of sparse representation and also simulation on artificial tones of ``piano'' in program Matlab. The theory is verified on this generated tones and also on real signals.
JAVA-based effective implementation of an image compression tool
Průša, Zdeněk ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Malý, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with digital image lossy compression. Lossy compression in general inserts some kind of distorsion to the resulting image. The distorsion should not be interupting or even noticable in the better case. For image analysis there is used process called transformation and for choosing relevant coefficients process called coding. Evaluation of image quallity can be done by objective or subjective method. There is encoder introduced and realized in this work. Encoder utilizes two-dimension wavelet transform and SPIHT algortihm for coefficient coding. It was made use of accelerated method of wavelet transform computation by lifting scheme. Coder can proccess color information of images using modificated original SPIHT algorithm. For implementation the JAVA programming language was employed. The object-oriented design principes was made use of and thus the program is easy to extended. At demonstaration pictures there are shown effectiveness and characteristic way of distorsion of the proposed coder at high compression rates.
Applications supporting lectures in image processing
Hlavatý, Jindřich ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with development of the programs for supporting of the tuition. The aim of my work is create to set of java applets. Introduction of my thesis explains concepts associated with this topic and necessary for solving this issue. Then I will take a closer look at color models and spaces. The conversion of color models to RGB models are described in this section. The following section shows decomposition into a bit level binary or using Gray code. Then, I will focus on image processing using convolution, conversion color image into gray scale image and dithering. In the end of my thesis the individual java applets are shown and described.
Interactive web applications supporting image processing lectures
Šuňal, Štefan ; Dorazil, Jan (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
Main goal of this thesis is to design web applications focused on support of education in field of image processing, specifically image filtering, dithering, resampling and step-by-step convolution. It contains explanation of used methods and their practical application. Final part of the thesis describes design and implementation of each application in JavaScript.
Creating 3D models and tutorials for computer exercises in Modern computer graphics
Gros, Jan ; Frenštátský, Petr (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The content of this thesis is to introduce with the issues taught in the course MGMP and create tutorials and 3D models in Blender for computer exercises of course MGMP. The first part is devoted to some similar courses taught at universities in the Czech Republic. Another parts are dealing with the method of Catmull-Clark subdivision surfaces, texture mapping issues, issues of curves and animation of objects with using curves. The last part is about shading 3D models and about various methods which have been developed and are in use to this day. The output of work are video tutorials and models for MGMP course, dealing with different parts of the thesis.
Search for a dictionary for audiosignals
Martinek, Václav ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis should answer what constitutes audio signal. It deals with the dictionary learning based on sparse representations of signals. This thesis describing algorithms, which are important for the creation of learning dictionaries. We find a comparison of signal representation using Fourier transform and learned vocabulary. It describes the creation of a database of musical sounds.

Malina, Jakub ; Průša, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
In this master’s thesis we focus on the basic properties of computer curves and their practical applicability. We explain how the curve can be understood in general, what are polynomial curves and their composing possibilities. Then we focus on the description of Bezier curves, especially the Bezier cubic. We discuss in more detail some of fundamental algorithms that are used for modelling these curves on computers and then we will show their practical interpretation. Then we explain non uniform rational B-spline curves and De Boor algorithm. In the end we discuss topic rasterization of segment, thick line, circle and ellipse. The aim of master’s thesis is the creation of the set of interactive applets, simulating some of the methods and algorithm we discussed in theoretical part. This applets will help facilitate understanding and will make the teaching more effective.
