Subsequent changes of anthropometrical parameters after three months physical therapy
Joachimová, Marie ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Slabý, Kryštof (referee)
INTRODUCTION: Therapy of obesity is currently based on weight reduction. The recommended strategies are effective for a short period of time but do not have long- term results. A steady rate of regain is observed from 6 months onward, reversion to baseline weight is predicted by 3 - 5.5 years. GOALS: The goal of this study was to evaluate short-term and long-term effects of three months physical therapy on anthropometrical parameters. The next goal was finding predictors of successful and unsuccessful long-term weight maintenance in this study and the literature. METHODS: We recruited 20 overweight or obese women (average BMI 28,6±2,6 kg/m2 ). Four anthropometrical parameters (weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference) were measured at the beginning, end and six months after finishing the program. The differences of parameters were statistically evaluated. Each participant filled in a questionnaire which was focused on potential predictors of successful l or unsuccessful weight maintenance. RESULTS: All anthropometrical parameters were lowered after the program. Six months after the end of the program all the average values of the parameters were increased. These results support findings of other follow-up studies. The influence of the eight selected factors was not proved. Even though...
CHR-test-method of excercise testing by endurance sportswomen related to renal functions
Šturmová, Anita ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Procházka, Michal (referee)
The aim of this study was to familiarize and imlement methodics of CHR-test. For using exercise testing were used endurace trained women. The results of exercise testing were compared with previously published study for untrained probands. The paper discussed resulting indexes of testing depending on individual fitness and the conslusiveness itselfs of this type of testing, that is not expanded to date. The next part of the thesis presents the results of experimental work: relations between stress and reaction of kidney in the form of microalbumiuria and transferinuria. The effect of extreme physical exertion on the percentage of dendritic cell subpopulations in professional athletes as correlated with change in adrenaline levels
Fischerová, Barbara ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
The main goal of this tesis is to describe changes in representation of various subpopulations dendritic cells (myelogenic and plasmocytoigenic) in peripheral blood after intense physical stress and to review their activation status. Early count changes and changes of function of basic elements of cellular immunity after a sport load was described, whereas a behaviour of circulating dendritic cells hasn't been studied yet. The amount and the stage of differentation of dendritic cells was specified by analysis of blood samples taken before and after the load. According to the result of the tesis the reaction to extreme physical load had two effects. The amount of dendritic cells was increased, whilst the expression of kostimulative molecules (their activation) was decreased. Described changes support an opinion, that physical load initates reaction to a danger of body damage. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Insulin resistance and strain
Zdeneková, Lucia ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Procházka, Miroslav (referee)
Diploma thesis "Information education of adults" deals with condition of human organism, when the effect of insulin on cells and liver is decreased. We can influence this status with exercise therapy, especially with endurance training combined with strenhgt training Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Physical Activity and Nutrition in Therapy of Metabolic Syndrome
Joachimová, Marie ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Illinger, Vojtěch (referee)
INTRODUCTION: Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of risk factors which tend to occur together and belong to the main causes of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. In the treatment of metabolic syndrome dominates pharmacotherapy of the individual components. However, this therapy usually addresses the consequences rather than the causes and puts the patient in the position of a passive recipient of drugs. Although a change of lifestyle should be the cornerstone of prevention and treatment of the metabolic syndrome, the vast majority of the general and professional public doesn't know how and to what extent it can help. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to find recommendations on physical activity and nutrition in relation to the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome and the mechanisms of action. METHODS: Information was sought in scientific journals, books and websites of healthcare organizations. Review articles and meta-analysis were selected primarily from the journals, general information and recommendations related to the issues discussed were obtained from the books and websites. RESULTS: The available literature confirmed that the modification of physical activity and nutrition can significantly improve all of the metabolic abnormalities associated with metabolic...
Performance measuring of individuals with physical handicap
Vít, Ondřej ; Kálal, Jan (advisor) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
The thesis is focused on the measurement of the energy consumption during the locomotion of the mobility disabled (riding a wheelchair a walking with 2 point support - crutch). The probands were handicapped by partial amputation of lower limb based on the vascular cause which represents approximately 90 percent of all amputations done in the Czech Republic. The thesis also presents a brief classification of amputations according to the extent of the separation, the history of amputations and the main etiologic factors leading to amputation. In the result section the measured data are discussed. In the last part of the thesis, the conclusions are discussed and compared to information available from similar studies. Subjective perception of during predominantly concentric and predominantly eccentric excercise
Opálková, Michaela ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Doubková, Lucie (referee)
This thesis pursues the function of human skeletal muscle. It describes the sarcomere and current theories of the muscle contraction. In addition to conventional sliding sarcomere theory the new large - scale model is included. It is called rotational theory and it works on the basis of rotating helical molecules which are functionally coupled. Muscle reaction to stretching in dependence on the stretch length and velocity are folded in. The chapter Neural Commands is not comprehensive. Its purpose is to review the differences between neural control of concentric and eccentric contraction, respectively. Following parts summarize the integration of eccentric contraction into human movement, instantaneous reactions and adaptation processes. The last theoretical part deals with subjective perception of stress during predominantly concentric and predominantly eccentric exercise. The applied part consists of the outcomes of measurement of peak and averaged heart rate before and after bouts of running with predominantly concentric (uphill running) and predominantly eccentric (downhill running) exercise. Subjective rate of physical and psychical condition were registered at identical situation using visual analogue scale. Twelve high school students were measured. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
