Automatic detection of driving lanes geometry based on aerial images and existing spatial data
Růžička, Jakub
The aim of the thesis is to develop a method to identify driving lanes based on aerial images and existing spatial data. The proposed method uses up to date available data in which it identifies road surface marking (RSM). Polygons classified as RSM are further processed to obtain their vector line representation as the first partial result. While processing RSM vectors further, borders of driving lanes are modelled as the second partial result. Furthermore, attempts were done to be able to automatically distinguish between solid and broken lines for a higher amount of information contained in the resulting dataset. Proposed algorithms were tested in 20 case study areas and results are presented further in this thesis. The overall correctness as well as the positional accuracy proves effectivity of the method. However, several shortcomings were identified and are discussed as well as possible solutions for them are suggested. The text is accompanied by more than 70 figures to offer a clear perspective on the topic. The thesis is organised as follows: First, Introduction and Literature review are presented including the problem background, author's motivation, state of the art and contribution of the thesis. Secondly, technical and legal requirements of RSM are presented as well as theoretical concepts and...
Analysis of factors influencing the crime in the city of Liberec
Růžička, Jakub ; Spilková, Jana (advisor) ; Vávra, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with crime in the urban environment, focusing on the city of Liberec. The basic approaches to urban studies and the basic theories of criminality are mentioned in the theoretical background. The results of various Czech and foreign studies dealing with the same topic are also mentioned. The methodological section contains the explanation of statistical analyses based on the data obtained from the Police and Czech statistical office and from guided interviews with members of the Police and the Municipality of Liberec. The main aim of the thesis is to define characteristics which influence crime and its location in the urban space, and to sketch out what the best crime prevention in the urban space could be. In the empirical part of the thesis firstly, the most frequent offenders and the most frequent types of crime are identified. Then, the influence of the residents' characteristics and the characteristics of urban environment on the crime rates are considered in the subsequent analyses. These analyses are grouped into three factors called the socioeconomic conditions of residents, the living conditions and the quality of flats. The results of the analyses are combined with the outcomes of guided interviews to form the final conclusions. The first one is that crime in Liberec is mainly...
Study of student groups on Facebook focused on two different methods of data collection
Stavárek, Filip ; Růžička, Jakub (advisor) ; Remr, Jiří (referee)
The work focuses on student groups on Facebook, their structure, the highly acclaimed users and types of posts being posted in the groups. All those aspects are being observed by different methods, online survey and data mining. The main goal is to compare those methods of data collection and observe, whether are findings comparable and if, to what extend. The other goal is to highlight unique aspects of each of methods. Based on the results it is safe to say that the findings of both methods are interchangeable in limited extend. Those limitations are based on different approach to data collection. Each of chosen methods offer different advantages which ought to be considered while deciding one or another method. While one of advantages of web surveys is the ability to work with paradata and ask possibly on anything, data mining from Facebook offer the possibility to work with big data and their analysis. The main benefit of work is the demonstrational usage of both methods to better understand the limits of findings. Thus the reader will gain better idea when use one or another method. Saint Francis' quest for the Crucified through the San Damiano Cross
Růžička, Jakub ; Sládek, Karel (advisor) ; Červenková, Denisa (referee)
Saint Francis' quest for the Crucified through the San Damiano Cross Abstract The encounter with the Crucified is the constitutive element of the spirituality of Saint Francis of Assisi. The objective of my thesis is finding the deeper understanding of Francis' perception of the cross. The topic should be elucidated by the San Damiano Cross Icon and other moments of the Saint of Assisi's life. The study of Francis' relation to the cross will be put into an appropriate context: the theology of the cross is mainly ingrained in the Jesus Christ's Mystery of Easter. This knowledge is deepened in life of the Early Church and, through the enriching epoch-making interposition even the "poor little" of Assisi may experience its fruits. In the fundamental part of the text I will organize the key materials for the study of Francis' relation to the crucified Christ contained in the franciscan sources with the help of the newest literature. Therefore the thesis will offer a complex view to one of the crucial moments of Francis' conversion. Keywords Saint Francis of Assisi, San Damiano, icon, cross, theology of the cross, The Crucified, history of the cross, speaking cross, franciscan sources, St. Paul, St. Bonaventure
Determination of the working range and efficiency of the water hammer pump
Růžička, Jakub ; Himr,, Daniel (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on setting the range and efficiency of a water ram pump through experimental measurements in a laboratory. The measurements were carried out on three different constructions of water ram pump, each of the designed and assembled by the author of this thesis himself, to find out whether the weight on the pulsating valve has an influence on the water ram pump efficiency. Further on this thesis aims at the comparison of up to now methods of water transport arrangement used at a summer camp and the usage of the water ram pump and its advantages. The principal of water ram pump originates in hydraulic impact that is being precisely described in a great detail as well. On of the chapters even includes the placement manual for the water ram pump and its overall assembly and connexion. Because the presence of floating debris is inevitable, this thesis also deals with the possibility to solve the incoming water impurities by adding an inflow gating to prevent such problem. This inflow gating has only been designed in a Flow 3D programme to introduce the idea and functions.

Keeping linear objects of cycling infrastructure in topographical databases and digital cartography.
Růžička, Jakub ; Šára, Pavel (advisor) ; Novotná, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is creating of a new methodology of keeping linear objects of cycling infrastructure in the ZABAGED® database. The methodology determines the way of keeping data in the database including attributes, attributes' description and the way of their assignment to appropriate lines. Objects of interest are marked cycling routes and special types of infrastructure which have been designed for cycling (e.g. bicycle trails, traffic lines reserved for cyclists or cycling corridors). Theoretical part is an overview of different types of cycling infrastructure including legislatively-bounding properties (width, marking) and an overview of the methodology of marking cycling routes. Furthermore, there is an overview of existing databases in which cycling infrastructure is already being kept and five of these are further characterised. The practical part comprises creating of a new data layer to evaluate the function of created methodology in covering real-life object's parameters. The created data layer can be found in attachment of this thesis together with its visualisation on a map. Included in the practical part there also is a description of possible problems which occurred during vectorisation and possible solutions or precautions on how to prevent them.
Water supply of scout camp by hydraulic ram
Růžička, Jakub ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
This work is dealing with water supply of a scout camp from Trusovický potok. The water is pumped with a ram pump to the water tank. The construction of the ram pump is simplified and it is collected from commonly available fittings and fixtures. The water from the tank is distributed by pipe network gravitationaly. Operating charakteristics of the hydraulic ram pump were measured in the laboratory.
