The past and present of Liberec choirs Cum decore and Cum amore
Procházková, Eliška ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Pecháček, Stanislav (referee)
This bachelor thesis concerns two related Liberec choirs: Cum decore and Cum amore, also known as Potěr (Spawn). This paper offers insight into their history from 1991, when the original choir was established, up to April 2023. The aim of this thesis is to gather all relevant pieces of information spread across many sources into one document. These pieces of information are to be classified systematically with regard to their chronological order and their topic. The outdated data are to be updated. The period of existence of the choir or choir departments is divided into four main stages of development. The first stage refers to the period when there was the original choir which had been led by Ludvík Lukuvka. The second stage describes the first six years after Čeněk Svoboda became the main choirmaster. The third stage corresponds to the school year 2007/2008 as it is when the choir was divided into its two departments: Cum decore and Cum amore or Potěr. The fourth stage lasts from then up to the school year 2022/2023 and each of these two departments is described in its own section. Every stage contains information on the number of the members, repertoire, projects, uniforms and support specialists of the choir or.choir departments. The main and the secondary choirmasters are introduced...
The past and present of Liberec choirs Cum decore and Cum amore
Procházková, Eliška ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Pecháček, Stanislav (referee)
This bachelor thesis covers two related Liberec choirs: Cum decore and Cum amore (inicially called as Potěr) and their history (from 1991, when established, up to this day). The aim of this paper is to gather all relevant pieces of information spread across many sources, classify them systematically (with regard to their chronological order and their topic) and update the outdated data. The existence of the choir(s) is devided into 4 main stages of development. The first stage refers to the period when the (original) choir was led by Ludvík Lukuvka. The second stage describes the first 6 years after Čeněk Svoboda became the main choirmaster. The third stage corresponds to the school year 2007/2008 as it is when the choir separated into 2 departments. And lastly, the fourth stage lasts from then up to this day and each of these two departments is described in its own section. Each of these stages offers a description of the conditions, under which the choir (or choir departments) worked for that period of time - such as how the numbers of the choir members changed, what their repertoir consisted of, what projects they involved in (the projects are sorted into smaller groups based on their similarities), what their dress-code looked like and which people had a supportive role there at that time....
A Comparison of rakugo story Minashigo and the novel Oliver Twist
Procházková, Eliška ; Tirala, Martin (advisor) ; Kanasugi, Petra (referee)
(anglicky) The author of this bachelor thesis apply to comparison between the novel Oliver Twist (1838) written by Charles Dickens (1812-1870) and the rakugo Minashigo (The Orphan, 1896) which is adaptation of Oliver Twist. The author of Minashigo was Henry James Black (art name Kairakutei Burakku, 1858-1923), Australian with British origins, who most of his life lived in Japan, became citizen of Japan and actively took part in the cultural activities there. The main aim of this thesis is vy using comparative method find out what content and narrative shifts occurred between the selected texts, and what the audience or reader of the Meiji period could grasp from Black's adaptation of Oliver Twist. Keywords (anglicky) Kairakutei Burakku, Charles Dickens, rakugo, Meiji period, hon'anmono, Minashigo, Oliver Twist
Comparison of Montessori method approaches with procedures of structured learning in preschool children with Asperger syndrome
PROCHÁZKOVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis focuses on comparing approaches of the Montessori method with the procedures of structured learning in preschool children with Asperger's syndrome. Two children with Asperger's syndrome, who are guided according to the given educational system, were selected to fulfil the goals of the qualification work. The Montessori method and structured learning procedures were compared in terms of suitability for any child with Asperger's syndrome as it was based on the observation of children in the relevant system and on the interviews provided by children's mothers, pedagogue, and teaching assistant of one of the boys. Everything was done in the design of the case study. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part contains the specifics and basic information of Asperger's syndrome for the selection of the educational system, subsequent work with the child, and finally a description of the various approaches to the Montessori method and structured learning. The practical part deals with research data from interviews and observations, which are given to a broader context and are compared in terms of suitability for this type of disability.
Antioxidative effects of the analogues of nucleic acid components.
Procházková, Eliška ; Mertlíková Kaiserová, Helena (advisor) ; Zusková, Iva (referee)
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) naturally occur in the organisms where they play e.g. signaling and antimicrobial roles. The imbalance between ROS production and removal results in the oxidative stress. This condition is largely considered as unfavourable leading to the oxidative damage of the biomolecules (lipids, proteins, nucleic acids). The oxidative stress accompanies a number of civilization diseases and may also arise as a consequence of pharmacotherapy (side effects of some drugs). Modulation of the oxidative stress with the use of antioxidants remains a subject of intense research. The analogs of nucleic acid components represent a structurally diverse class of compounds with important pharmacological potential. While their antiviral and cytostatic activities have been described in detail, information on their potential antioxidant activity is missing. The aim of this study was to identify the antioxidant activity in a series of 126 analogs of nucleotides, nucleosides and nucleobases and to describe structural motives responsible for this activity. Several methodological approaches have been used to reach the goal: 1) determination of the ability of the compounds to scavenge ABTS radical in vitro (TEAC), 2) the influence of the compounds on lipid peroxidation and 3) their ability to...
The effect of flavonoids on selected biotransformation enzymes
Procházková, Eliška ; Szotáková, Barbora (advisor) ; Svobodová, Hana (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Eliška Procházková Supervisor: Doc. Ing. Barbora Szotáková, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: The effect of flavonoids on selected biotransformation enzymes In recent years, catechins which belong to flavonoids have been studied polyphenolic constituents of green tea. Especially their beneficial effects on the human health are mostly studied. The popularity of dietary supplements with high levels of flavonoids is growing and thus they can affect a wide range of biotransformation enzymes and also the metabolism of many drugs. The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out how the selected catechins - catechin (C), epicatechin (EC), epicatechin-3-gallate (ECG), epigallocatechin (EGC), epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and the green tea extract - polyphenon 60 (P) influence the viability of the Caco-2 cells and the activity and expression of the selected biotransformation enzymes in these cells - cytochromes P450 (CYP) isoforms 1A1, 1A2, and 3A, aldehydreductase (AKR1A1), aldo-ketoreductases 1C (AKR1C), carbonylreductase 1 (CBR1), UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT), sulfotransferase (SULT) and glutathione S-transferase (GST). The viability tests (NRU test and MTT test) proved that catechins...

Paradise Lost and Silmarillion:Rebellion and evil in literary myths by John Milton and J.R.R. Tolkien
Procházková, Eliška ; Charypar, Michal (advisor) ; Sládek, Miloš (referee)
There is no doubt that profesor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, while he was creating the oldest myths of his literary world, published under the title Silmarillion, worked not only with the Nordic, Germanic or Celtic myths, but as a Catholic did not forget about the christian stories. His inspirational sources certainly included it's biggest conflict, the Lucifer's rebellion against God. He apparently knew the most famous depiction of this theme, an extensive epic poem by an english baroque writer John Milton. In this thesis I will focus on Tolkien's own mythology and the strongest influences that could have affected it. And I will compare the story and destiny of Tolkien's Melkor with those of Satan. The biblical one and also the one as depicted by John Milton in his work. Keywords Tolkien, Milton, Silmarillion, Paradise lost, evil, mythology
