Key barriers, opportunities and good practices for entrepreneurship and innovation
Křížková, Alena ; Marková Volejníčková, Romana ; Pospíšilová, Marie ; Vohlídalová, Marta
The report is focused on barriers, opportunities and good practices for gender-sensitive innovations and entrepreneurship. It is based on the analysis of 36 interviews with experts from the health, green and digital fields and the target groups defined in the quadruple helix of academia, citizens, industry, and government. The interviews were collected by 12 GILL partners in the 10 consortium countries in 2023. Gender stereotypical cultural beliefs and norms, masculine bias, gender segregation, lack of funding, lack of policies to support work-life balance and lack of political will and empirical evidence to remove these barriers are the main problems identified. The opportunities reflected largely correspond to these barriers and highlight the role of key actors, such as the EU, in setting standards. Projects focusing on fixing the number of women under-represented in certain fields and occupations and management positions predominate among good practices.

Extension of Working Lives in the Czech Republic: Employee Situation. Policy brief DAISIE project
Křížková, Alena ; Dudová, Radka ; Pospíšilová, Marie ; Heřmanová, Marie
This policy brief summarises research project results examining ageing conditions across three sectors: transport, healthcare and banking. It aims to respond to the still insufficient discussion on the needs and opportunities of women and men of pre-retirement age and in the process of retirement in the Czech labour market. Gender and age inequalities accumulate over the life course resulting in significantly lower pensions for women compared to men or making it impossible to retire with a decent pension. Uniform retirement ages does not suit everyone equally. The organisation of work in specific occupations has specific negative effects on the health of older women and men. Changes in profession, position or working time in pre-retirement age is not easily obtainable. The policy brief suggests recommendations for state and policy makers, employers as well as good practice examples. The impact of the pandemic on women in healthcare
Pospíšilová, Marie
Healthcare workers have become the new heroes, or rather heroines, during the pandemic, as 85% of healthcare workers in the Czech Republic are women. The crisis has further exposed the problems associated with the difficulty of reconciling work in the health sector and caring for one's own family. Almost a third of nurses have children under the age of 12. The closure of schools and kindergartens, together with the recommendation not to use grandparental care because they belong to a risky age group, has confronted many nurses and doctors with the question of whether to give priority to their patients or their families. Although special care institutions were opened for their children, their use presented practical complications. The crisis situation associated with the pandemic showed that family care commitments (for children or other family members) are perceived as private and therefore invisible, and are still primarily considered to be women's issues. Research shows that if the possibility of reconciling work and care in the health sector is not satisfactorily addressed, there is a risk of an exodus of these much-needed female workers into other fields.
Meaning of virtual reality for a social group of NEETs
Bjaček, Jakub ; Pospíšilová, Marie (advisor) ; Krištofič, Peter (referee)
Jakub Bjaček Meaning of virtual reality for a social group of NEETs Abstract In this bachelor thesis I tried to look in more detail on the current issue of NEETs (acronym for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training"), in short, people who usually do not voluntarily participate in socialization through employment or institutional education. I was mainly interested in the reasons why this is so. Whether it is more about external causes (changes in the labour market, youth unemployment, competitive environment) or even causes of an internal nature. The question was where the NEETs are presenting themselves and how they spend time. That is why I focused on an online space in which a certain part of them could be active more visibly. This leaves me a relatively narrow target group of people who can be ranked in the NEETs category and also are active in the online space. These links have built research objectives. The question is how NEETs are presenting themselves in the online space. I was interested in virtual identity as a way to gain new social capital. This bachelor thesis is not about a comprehensive insight into the sociologically issue of NEETs as a whole, but about a certain view on this issue from the perspective of a particular activity (activities in the online environment and the perceptions and...
Determination of rocuronium, vecuronium and pancuronium muscle relaxants by capillary electrophoresis with contactless conductivity detection
Böhmová, Lenka ; Polášek, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Marie (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Analytical Chemistry Student: Lenka Böhmová Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Miroslav Polášek, CSc. Title of Diploma Thesis: Determination of rocuronium, vecuronium and pancuronium muscle relaxants by capillary electrophoresis with contactless conductivity detection A new method of capillary zone electrophoresis with contactless conductivity detection for the determination of pancuronium bromide, vecuronium bromide and rocuronium bromide was developed. The separation was carried out in fused-silica capillary with internal diameter 50 µm, total length 75 cm and effective length 45 cm. Optimal background electrolyte was 30mM acetate buffer of pH 5,75 containing 20 mg/ml of hydroxypropyl-γ-cyclodextrin. Phenyltrimethylammonium iodide was used as internal standard. The separation was performed at 25řC, the applied voltage was 20 kV. The samples were injected hydrodynamically at 50 mbar for 6 s. Under such optimal conditions the separation took less than 4 min. Calibration curves were linear for all analytes in the range 50 - 250 µg/ml, the coefficients of correlation were in the range 0,9954 - 0,9983. The limits of detection were 13,2 µg/ml, 11,1 µg/ml and 11,3 µg/ml for pancuronium bromide, vecuronium bromide and rocuronium...
