The main puprose of this paper is to introduce some of algorithms used in face detection in images. This paper focuses on face detection by using a skin-color based segmentation that is computed in three color spectrums (RGB,YCbCr and HSV). This paper also includes software for face detection in pictures and videos.

Analysis and comparison of ROC curves of audio signals

This thesis deals with oportunity of ROC curve usage in the description of methods that work with sound signals. Specifically, it focuses on ways of detecting of stress in speech signals. The detection itselfs is done in a range of frequencies of the sound signal. There is also a classifier designed using ROC curves that decides whether the input signal is stressed or not. The output of this thesis are findings gathered from analyses and also some recommendation based on those analyses.

This bachelor’s thesis deals with steam turbines for mechanical drives. The first part de-scribes a production of steam turbines for mechanical drives in Siemens, s.r.o., Industrial Turbomachinery, subsidiary company in Brno, steam turbine’s components and particular products from company’s portfolio. The second part aims to a thermodynamic calculation and design of turbine’s steam path according to given conditions.

This bachelor’s thesis is focused on structural modifications of the universal columned hydraulic press. The thesis proposes justifiable structural modifications of fundamental parts of the press, including material choices, and necessary calculations and simulations of material strength and deformation characteristics. Calculated specifications of the unit that powers the press are also presented.

The bachelor thesis is prepared for a specific bookstore retail network, and its goal is to supplement/ modify marketing communication with appropriate sales support tools and advertising. Based on the performed partial analyzes, their summary is created, which is implemented using the SWOT approach and opportunities for improvement are suggested. The implementation of these proposals should primarily increase the satisfaction of regular customers, but also to increase the number of new customers.

This diploma thesis aims to thermodynamic calculation, carbon ring seal calculation and integrated gearbox calculation of single stage mechanicl drive steam turbine. The theoretical part of this work presents general classification of steam turbines, mechanicl drive steam turbine, types of blading and design of turbine seals. In the second part, we further discuss difference between carbon and labyrinth packing.

The diploma thesis focuses on the addition and modification of marketing communication of a specific master's degree programme. The theoretical part deals with the issues of the university, focusing on the marketing mix, marketing communication and applicants' decision-making. The analytical part focuses on the current state of affairs, where proposals are made based on the outcomes of the analyses. The implementation of the proposals will mainly lead to an increase in the awareness of the study programme, which will also help to bring about an increase in the number of applications.
