Mathematical model of groundwater flow in the permo-carniferous region of the Český Brod environs
Brožová, Magda ; Mls, Jiří (advisor) ; Polák, Michal (referee)
The aim of this thesis is an overall assessment of the hydrogeological conditions of the Český Brod Permian Carboniferous and overall the balance of upper groundwater aquifer in the northern part of the Český Brod Permian Carboniferous using a mathematical model. For the realization of the model was used ZABAGED data provided by the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre, which is located in Prague 8 Kobylsích. The mathematical model was created using computer applications such as FeFlow 5. 2, ArcGIS for Desktop 10. 1 and Surfer 10. 7. 972. The result of this work is to evaluate the overall balance of precipitation, surface water and groundwater in the upper aquifer north of Český Brod Permian Carboniferous, respectively, in the hydrologic basin of the Upper and Middle Elbe, in the hydrological basin fourth Order river Vyrovka (HEIS.VUV.cz). The evaluation was done by comparing the data obtained from the studied opinions and based on data obtained from calculations of the mathematical model. The results of the mathematical model were also compared with the original model hydroizohyps, which was created based on the coordinates of the individual wells in a given area and treble steady groundwater levels, coordinate and treble levels of selected points on each watercourse. Discrimination measures in credit risk
Polak, Michal ; Pešta, Michal (advisor) ; Zahradník, Petr (referee)
Scoring models represent a fundamental tool for the modern management of credit risk. This is mainly due to a significant development in the field of information technology. Such models are used not only when providing credit, but also in strategies relating to the future management of credit risk, or in strategies connected with enforcing receivables. In my thesis I deal with discrimination measures used in the validation of diversification potential of logistic scoring models. At the beginning, I focus on the term 'risk'. Then, I introduce a basic division of scoring models. Next, I describe the method of scoring logistic regression, I concentrate on estimating parameters, their significance and on testing their relevance. For the measurement and illustration of diversification potential of the model I mention the most commonly used methods such as the Lorenz and ROC curve, the Gini coeficient, the c-statistic as well as the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Finally, I apply the theoretical knowledge to real data. I design a scoring model and subsequently compare the discrimination measures which it contains. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The Role of a Man in a Modern Family in the Context of Czech and Anglo-American Imaginative Literature
Polák, Michal ; Holeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Paulíček, Miroslav (referee)
The bachelor thesis "The Role of a Man in a Modern Family in the Context of Czech and Anglo- American Imaginative Literature" investigates the relation between literature, sociology and science. In its following parts it considers the possibilities of sociological cognition by means of imaginative literature. It focuses the role of a man in a modern family. The role of a man is divided into three categories, which are further itemized into separate units. In the concluding chapter are these artificialy created categories confronted with fragments of novels and thus attempt to answer the question to what extent is imaginative literature able to describe this topic.
The reasons for force feeding prisoners at Guantanamo in the context of Foucault's theory of Power
Polák, Michal ; Hájek, Martin (advisor) ; Maršálek, Jan (referee)
Aim of this paper is to explain used forced feeding of hunger strikers at the U.S. Prison at Guantanamo, when this technique is prohibited in international law. I used the sociology of Michel Foucault, who devoted himself to the topic of imprisonment. His work is often used in the interpretation of what is happening at Guantanamo. With the help of these interpretations were generated two hypotheses. I tested compiled hypotheses in study of literature including news articles, research papers, reports of human rights organizations, legislation, interviews with former camp detainees or camp staff etc. We conclude that the prisoners at Guantanamo are not fed to be kept alive, but rather to be punished for a hunger strike protest. The conclusions highlight a new form of relationship between state and its citizens, which calls for more comprehensive analysis of current form of government, which we are not able to cover in this work.
