ANGLICKÁ ANOTACE Bachelor's Study: History of Libechov Parish within the years 1890 - 1935 Written by: ŠANTIN Miroslav Jan, 2007 On the turn of 19th and 20th century also in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy anticlerical activities are stirred following the results of the 1st Vatican Council and consequently the Old Catholic Movement. The 1st World War breaks out, and its sufferings terminates by the disintegration of the centuries-old Monarchy. The foundation of the Czechoslovak Republic brings demand to subdue entire pro-habsburgian and thus, in opinion of many, also Catholic Church. The Church in this newly formed society has to find and defend its place but for this religious struggle is not prepared. Social and church disquiet leads to foundation of the Czechoslovakian Church. This brings with it new wave of resignations which takes along laymen and priests. In the society again the nationalistic discord between German and Czech population grows, in the neighboring Germany Adolf Hitler takes the power, and finaly comes near to another war horror. Many of these evens forced permanent changes in behavior and thinking of idividuals and entire society. Activity of Church Secretaries at Šumperk region till 1968

Activity of Ecclesiastical Secretaries at Šumperk region till 1968. The thesis comprises of activities of ecclesiastical secretaries in Šumperk district. The frame of the work covers period from year 1948 till 1968. After a breaf description of situation in Olomouc diocese after February 1948, the text follows territorial delimination of Šumperk district during fifties and sixties. Then it takes a closer look at influence of secretaries during specific years and from their reports to the senior authority it's trying to determine the most important events and problems of roman catholic church at that time. Special part belongs to religious teaching (connected with difficulties of joining this subject) and antireligious propaganda, therefore atheistic education. Further the text follows litigations of priests, that were unlawfully sentenced and imprisoned based on fabricated cases of communist regime. Even though these were local cases, that no one knew about past the district borders, it is worthwhile mentioning them as they substantially influenced lives of these priest. Last but not least the attention is brought to persons of ecclesiastical secretaries and priests, that had to try to get on under the pressure despite being on oposite sides of the barricade.

The Administration of Prague's Archdiocese in the Years 1913-2006 in the light of the Catalogues of Clergy

ANGLICKÁ ANOTACE Administration of the Prague Archdiocese in years 1913 - 2006 in the light of the catalogues of clergy The history of administration of the Prague Archdiocese for the 20th century, especially for the period after year 1948 lacks its summary description. As the 20th century is a period of huge changes also in the relationship between the state and the church (or between the society and the church), there might be an interesting (and yet unanswered) question, if and how the church administration has reacted to the changes of the political, economical and demographical situation in this period. Exposed study is based on the till now mostly omitted collection of sources for studying of the church administration's structure, i.e. collection of catalogues of clergy, which are conserved at the chancellery of the Prague archbishopric. The study describes the catalogues of clergy, brings basic information about the changes of the structure of the administration of the Prague Archdiocese and about the changes in the religious structure of its inhabitants, indicates some possible contexts between both topics and finally describes the initial steps of the renewal of parishes' process, initiated at the threshold of the 21st century. Legalisation of intentional abortation in Czechoslovakia in the year 1957

The thesis The legalization of intentional abortion in Czechoslovakia i the year 1957 describes this topic in light of history- based on accessible historical documents- within the context of contemporary disputes and the creation of this law. In the preamble are given the discursions to theological ethics and church law, which should have sat this thesis in context of catholic theology. The thesis reflects also the progress and attepmts at full legalization of abortions soon after the Czechoslovakia was brought into being. The abortion act was enacted in the end of the year 1957. This fact is compared within the international situation. In addition more carefully is described the progress of the abortion act in USSR and several states of the Eastern bloc. The thesis also etchs in the activities of so-called "Prolicidal boards", which were settled down by the czechoslovakia government. These boards brought along that in the year of 1957 were abortions permitted only with partial restrictions. History of the Nusle Parish between 1903 - 1938

Resumé bakalářské práce Kateřina Kasková HISTORIE FARNOSTI NUSLE V LETECH 1903 - 1938 Cílem práce je zmapování života ve farnosti Nusle od jejího založení v roce 1903 až do začátku II. světové války. Vzhledem k tomu, že o obci, od roku 1898 městu a od roku 1922 nové pražské čtvrti Nusle, není dostupné mnoho seriosní literatury, bylo v této práci čerpáno hlavně z pramenů. Stěžejními prameny byla Pamětní kniha farnosti Nusle uložená na faře, Kronika náboženské obce církve Československé v Nuslích, uložená ve farním archivu církve Československé Husitské v Nuslích a Kronika II. chlapecké školy obecné v Nuslích, uložená na základní škole v Táborské ulici v Nuslích. Dále byly použity materiály z archivu hl. m. Prahy - Knihy změn náboženství, Knihy biřmovaných, Knihy pořádků služeb Božích a také zde uložený nezpracovaný fragment archivu farnosti Nusle. V Národním archivu byla objevena část korespondence Ordinariátu s prvním Nuselským farářem Karlem Jandou a na Pražském arcibiskupství bylo možno čerpat z Katalogů kléru. Záznamy o životě ve farnosti Nusle mají svá bílá místa, protože se v průběhu doby ztratil jak archiv obce Nusle, tak i archiv hejtmanství Vinohradského, kam Nusle správně patřily. Pamětní kniha farnosti také končí v roce 1919, po roce 1920 katolickou farnost zabrala pro své účely církev...

Cistercians and Osek monastery in the 20th century

Title of the thesis: Cistercians and Osek monastery in the 20th century. Abstract: The thesis aims to describe the Cistercian order and reflect upon it - upon its origins, its mission and its influence on society. It also recounts the events that happened in of the Czech Cistercian monasteries. The arrival of this order, which originated in France, is depicted. The main focus is put on the Czech Cistercian monastery in Osek within the Teplice region in the north of Bohemia, close to the border with Germany. The attention is especially given to the events, which happened in the 20th century, particularly those connected to the end of the Second World War, when the German monks were expelled after a period of imprisonment. Second important era came in the 1950's, when the monastery was turned into an internment camp for religious. The thesis is predominantly based on personal testimonies, which are put into the context of the Czech history - with special focus to the relation between the state and the Church. The conclusion proposes a vision for the future of the monastery as an important site and a place of spiritual life. Foundation and activities of the Czechoslovak Church in the catholic parish in Přerov between 1919 - 24

ENGLISH ANNOTATION. This bachelor work deals with the foundation and activities of the Czechoslovak Church in the catholic parish in Přerov nad Labem between 1919 - 1924. It describes the problems resulting from the effort to re-establish the catholic parish in Přerov nad Labem and Semice, after that parish actually went down after the parish priest and the believers all joined the Czechoslovak Church. It deals not only with the pastoral activities of the catholic administrators and parish priests, but also with their endeavour to get back the farmerly illegally confiscated possession. Last but not least it also describes the religious disturbances at those days, taking place between the believers of both Churches concerning mentioned problems.

The Grammar School in Litomyšl in the Context of the Political Changes of the 20th Century The dissertation discusse about grammar school in Litomyšl in the background of social changes in 20th century. It shows circumstances of origin of grammar school in Litomyšl and it describes its development and difficulties during an evolution. It focuses on staff, students, teaching subjects, foundation and student's activities. There are numbers of students in taught religion, catechists in individual school events and books used in lessons. It also shows other studies of absolvents. It says about difficulties of both war conflicts. Furthermore, it describes the events after 1948, which peaks by the process in Litomyšl with the students of grammar school and the rector František Ambrož Stříteský. There is a mention of the anniversary celebrations of grammar school as well.
