The history of the parish of Konska until ist division in 2003

Résumé HISTORY OF THE PARISH KONSKÁ UNTIL ITS DIVISION IN 2003 This thesis presents an overview of the history of the parish from its assumed foundation in 1228 until its division in 2003. The beginnings of the parish go back to the 13th century, when it was part of the parish called Rajec. After its independence, it maintained its position for not more than a century because it disappeared for a short period due to the power-political and property disputes of that time. In spite of various obstructions the parish was restored in the 14thI century. It lasted without major problems until the 16th century, when the owners of the lordship Lietava, which the parish was subject to, became Protestants. Two protestant parishes were founded: in the villages Konska and Kamenna Poruba. Due to the rule "Cuius regio, eius religio" the parish became subject to the catholic lordship Frantisek Révayov, from 1628 churches and property were catholic. During the uprising called Rakoci the protestant parish Kamenna Poruba was not renewed. However the parish Konska was restored in 1707. The latter lasted only several months, due to the period of so-called "recatholization", which was implemented in this area by Jesuits from the city of Zilina. German Anti-Vatican Policy and its reflection in the reports of the Czechoslovak embassy at the Holy See

This bachelor's thesis deals relationships between The Holy See and Germany in years 1933- 1939. The reaction of the Holy See to the rise of Nazism to power in Germany and what were the Nazis' attitudes towards the Catholic Church. Further, the work deals with diplomatic relations between of the two countries, where this thesis will be mainly devoted to the signing of the concordat. In conclusion, this thesis will focus on changing the attitude of the Holy See to Germany and how the Nazis welcomed the election of the new Pope Pius XII. Thesis will be written from the point of view of the political reports of the Czechoslovak Embassy at the Holy See and how the relations of these countries were described in them. Thesis will be primarily based on the archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in Prague and extensive literature. Former Crusader orders in the 21st century

The diploma thesis ,,Former Crusader orders in the 21st century" deals with knightly orders, which in the Middle Ages held crusades and operated in Jerusalem. At the same time, these are orders that exist until today and also operate in the Czech Republic. The work specifically deals with the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta, the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and the Order of the Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem. The work describes the historical development and rebirth of the former Crusader orders into charitable organizations of the 21st century. The work focuses on the interpretation of contemporary life and the organization of orders, which it compares with each other

The Dying Church; Searching for the interpretative key to the position of Christianity in postmodern Europe

The Dying Church, Josef Prokeš Abstract The Dying Church Searching for the interpretative key to the position of Christianity in postmodern Europe The main subject of this thesis concerns the search for the way in which the Church in the Czech Republic should live in order to fulfil its mission, that is to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Czech theologian and Franciscan Zdeněk Bonaventura Bouše was chosen as the starting point, especially his texts on the Church. His texts are read according to the interpretive key, which was chosen to be the verse in the Gospel of John where Jesus declares that he is the Way, the Truth and the Life. In the first chapter, this scripture (John 14:6) is discussed and applied to the Church. This leads to a characterization of the Church that is on the way, striving for truthfulness and is full of real life. It is according to this key that Bouché's texts are read and interpreted in the second chapter. The main part of the work is the chapter three. Here the three dimensions of the Church (on the way, striving for truthfulness and full of life) are discussed in specific terms in relation to the situation of the Church in the Czech Republic. The First Apostolic Nuncio in Prague Clemente Micara and his Reflection in the Contemporary Czech Press in the Years 1920-1923

In the newly formed Czechoslovak Republic, the Catholic Church lost the position it had in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. It was necessary to change almost the entire Church structure, replace the majority of the bishopric, establish new church schools and find a new way of coexistence of church and state. A papal nunciature was established in Prague and an embassy of the Czechoslovak Republic was established in Rome. The first Vatican nuncio, Clemente Micara, was sent to Prague, where he worked there for less than four years. His task was to carry out the necessary changes pro- posed by the Vatican to strengthen the position of the Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia, and his mission was successful.

The Life and Criminalization of Czech Queer Women in the first half of the 20th Century

The bachelor thesis deals with the everyday life and persecution of Czech non-heterosexual women in the first half of the 20th century. It therefore examines the status and overall situation of homosexual minorities in the society, primarily in the years 1918-1945, ie during the Czech First Republic and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, with a focus on women. The thesis doesn't cover the period before the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, due to limited sources and the absence of research. Apart from the historical context and the description of the perception of lesbian love at that time, the thesis will present selected queer publications, associations, favorite meeting places or restaurants and important female figures of this community in the given period. The second part of the thesis will then be carried out as a case study of criminal records concerning women accused of the crime of "fornication against nature", which can help us gain insight into the mentality and everyday life of lesbian women of the first half of the 20th century.

Relationship of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia towards the Catholic Church and Religion during the First Czechoslovak Republic

Relationship of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to catholic church in the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic The bachelor thesis analyzes the relationship of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to religion and churches in the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. It is based on an analysis of the contemporary party press through which the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia disseminated its views and informed the Czechoslovak public about its political actions. In particular, the author seeks to establish whether the persecution of the Church that occurred after the Communist Party seized full power in 1948 could have been predicted. At the same time, the author aims to discern whether the views and attitudes of the Communist Party towards religion evolved and changed during the interwar period. The Parish Budišov u Třebíče in the 2nd Half of the 20th Century Abstract: The Diploma thesis "The Parish Budišov u Třebíče in the 2nd Half of the 20th Century" approaches the life of the parish of Budišov u Třebíče between years 1950 and 2000. In context of the political-religious situation, it tries to map out religious life of the parish, introduces all of the church administrators, and watches the relationship between the village and the parish and all the reconstruction work accomplished in mentioned time. The main sources of information are materials from national and diocesan archives and also materials from archives of the security forces. The parish and municipal chronicles are helpful sources too. Margaret Thatcher's foreign policy in domestic and foreign press between 1979 and 1990

This master's thesis will focus on Margaret Thatcher's foreign policy, starting with her appointment as Prime minister of Great Britain in 1979 and ending with her resignation in 1990. Next it will reflect on the social and political situation in Europe during her reign. The key element of this paper will be the analysis of domestic and foreign press, both democratic and communist, in which the student will target the Falkland war, policy towards European Economic Community, the North Ireland conflict solution, attitude towards African continent and the Soviet Union, the Persian Gulf war and also special relationship between the Great Britain and United States of America. The goal of the student's research shall be a complex overview of the press in the period in question, put into the context of foreign policy of the first woman in charge of Great Britain.
