Vladimír Páral's works from the Normalization period

V práci se snažíme podat ucelený výklad tvorby V. Párala z let 1969-1989 se z etelem k jejím širším kontext m literárn -historickým, genologickým i ideovým. V první ásti v nované specifik m autorova tv ího typu, logikou vývoje jeho díla a analytickému rozboru d l dospíváme k m o n o t e m a t i n o s t i jako konstitutivního rysu autorovy tvorby. Na základ toho se snažíme poukázat na ideovou kontinuitu a vnit ní koherenci celého Páralova díla a polemizovat tak se zjednodušujícími interpretacemi akcentujícími pouze politický rozm r autorova díla ze 70. let. V druhé ásti se díváme na Páralovo dílo na pozadí eské prózy poslední t etiny 20. stol.; autora pojímáme jako ideového protich dce M. Kundery (a kritika kunderovského racionáln -analytického postoje k životu) i B. Hrabalem reprezentovanou "postbeatnickou" vlnu literatury. Upozor ujeme na etickou dimenzi autorovy tvorby, všímajíce si i jejího zajímavého paradoxu stylov -ideové kontrárnosti (novátorský "technicistní" styl, postmoderní vlivy vs. obhajoba tradi ních hodnot a návratu ke ko en m lidské p irozenosti). Záv re ný oddíl je v nován úvaze nad tzv. normaliza ní (oficiální) prózou, jejím stylov -žánrovým i tematickým specifik m, z nichž vyvozujeme postuláty týkající se zákonitostí tvorby v ideologicky determinované spole nosti; rovn ž se snažíme...

Fight for Naked Life in Lustig's Presentation of Holocaust

This essay deals with the problems of Lustig's characters they without their real cause have to be commited the danger of the closeness to death. For understanding the choice and classification of the characters it is necessary the consequent face-off the biographical texts. A brief autobiography is indicated in the first chapter and then runs through the all other chapters (the biographic parts are in italics). The second chapter deals with the possibility of presentation of Holocaust in general and delimits the Lustig's opinion to this problems. My work treat of characters they found themselves in the threshold of sink or swim and they are obliged to fight for their dear life. Each of them chose other strategy how to approach a fight for naked life. This study divides the characters into four typological categories. To each of this category is devote one chapter with the brief presentation of the problems with several characters they correspond to this typology. First of them deals with the persons they fight against death by the act whether tragic defiance or revenge is concerned. The contribution of Ladislav Fikar for the Czech Culture

Diplomová práce celkově seznamuje s životem a dílem Ladislava Fikara. Hlavním cílem je proniknutí do Fikarova básnického díla, jež v sobě zahrnuje jednotlivé verše vydávané časopisecky, prvotinu Samotin a verše Kámen na hrob uspořádané z pozůstalosti. Práce podává jejich základní interpretaci, přičemž se zaměřuje na popis Fikarovy poetiky, zvláště pak na jeho ustálené motivy. Celou Fikarovu tvorbu zasazuje do kontextu české literatury a přesahuje i světové literatuře. S odkrytím autorské poetiky poukazuje na charakterické znaky Fikarova překladu, které odhaluje na základě komparace překladů veršů Rainera Maria Rilkeho a sovětského spisovatele Stěpana Ščipačova s jejich originálními texty. U druhého zmíněného překladu se zároveň zabývá jeho literárním a společenským významem pro českou poezii. Ve dvou životopisných kapitolách se práce zaměřuje na zachycení období působení Fikara ve funkci redaktora a ředitele v nakladatelství Československý spisovatel. Jeho osobní přínos postihuje i v oblasti kinematografie, kde působil jako hlavní dramaturg tvůrčí skupiny Šmída-Fikar.

Phenomenon Cimrman

The introduction of this diploma thesis summarizes the production of , and it identifies the two following layers of authorship. The first layer is the fictional authorship of Jara Cimrman; the second layer is the authorship of the Cimrmanologists and their so-called (or fictional) reconstructions of Cimrman's work. The introduction further discusses the importance of the radio show , which gave birth to the character of Jara Cimrman. Finally, the introduction analyses various aspects of Cimrman and his mystifying character. The core of this thesis consists of an analysis of Cimrman and his relation to Czech Dream. It also studies the Czech dream and its development. The second chapter provides a study based on the play , which is looking at the relation between Cimrman and Czech history and the national myth. The beginning of this chapter offers an overview of the history of the . The chapter then continues with an analysis of Cimrman's play with a special attention to its unusual political dimension. The third chapter studies the connections between Cimrman, or his creators, and Czech national consciousness and Czech culture as they are reflected in Cimrman's play . The play is set in the context of Kainar's poem , Klusak and Remunda's film , Macura's essay , and Kaspar's book .

Josef Nesvadba's Peklo Beneš as counterfactual fiction. Narrative and thematic analysis

This bachelor thesis is focusing on narrative and thematic analysis of Josef Nesvadba's Peklo Beneš (2002). This bachelor thesis has introduction, three chapters and conclusion. First chapter is focusing on counterfactual historiography and counterfactual fiction, second chapter is focusing on narrative analysis of Peklo Beneš (narrative categories) and third chapter is focusing on thematic analysis, that are main and minor topics, counterfactual events in the history of Czechoslovakia from 1938 to 1989 and science fiction invention of Indinet. This bachelor thesis is based both on professional literature of Lubomír Doležel and Niall Ferguson, and on paper of Erik Gilk, who follow up counterfactual historiography and literature, and on Kubíček, Hrabal, Bílek's professional narratology literature.

Towards a Theory of Characters in the Work of Karel Čapek

Práce se snaží přispět к interpretaci díla Karla Čapka ze specifického hlediska postav. Vychází přitom ze všech autorových děl (bez ohledu к žánru) včetně těch, které podepsal spolu s Josefem Čapkem. Cílem je odhalit hlubší systémové vztahy mezi jednotlivými typy postav. Práce se snaží vysledovat, jaké postavy jsou pro Čapka příznačné, jaké postavy jsou důležité pro smysl díla, jaké jsou postavy autorem privilegované, do jakých postav autor nejsilněji projektuje své já a jaký je vůbec vztah práce s postavou ke smyslu díla. První kapitola se pokouší stručně zmapovat dosavadní reflexi Čapkových postav v sekundární literatuře. Dalších pět kapitol pojednává o nej výraznějších okruzích postav: o postavách obyčejného člověka, o postavách žen, o postavách hrdinů, o postavách Jiného a o záporných postavách. Kobold - my reader's experience

Resume Main goal of this bachelor thesis is to create interpretation and deep literary analysis of two-thread novel Kobold. Author of the novel is Radka Denemark, one of the most respected Czech writers. In chapter Autorka are summarized biographical data relevant for the novel or important for understanding of Denemark's value and her ability of writing. Next chapter is Kontext vzniku díla. This chapter describes background of the Kobold's creation and factors which affected its origins as well as final form. The feminism and woman-oriented literature are the main topics of the chapter. Following parts are about genre of the two-thread novel and define its title and subtitles. Next two chapters have the same composition and analyse each of two storylines. Name of the first is Přebytky něhy. (O vodě.) and name of the second is Přebytky lidí. (O ohni.). Concern of both is in storyteller, characters and direction of storyline as well as analysis of cultural and geographical background of it. The chapter Kompoziční a jazyková rovina románu attend text structure and outer composition of the novel. It evaluates narrative situation and the uses of composition's tools too.
