Leisure Time Centre Brno
Peterka, Jiří ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is a design of a leisure time centre. The intended location in Brno – Nový Lískovec adjoins optically interconnected tower blocks and group terrace houses on three of its sides. Additionally, there are walkways going through the site that connect the surrounding buildings. The centre should deliver the activity necessary for a fulfilling life similarly as the heart delivers blood in a human body. The heartbeat curve has therefore been an inspiration for the design of the edifice as is apparent from the dynamic edges of sloping roofs. During the design process I tried to link the centre to the existing walkways, integrate it as well as possible into the terrain and make sure that no view from the surrounding buildings is disrupted. This is why the two-floor design with angular roofs was chosen. The first floor verges into the second one where there is maximum super-elevation of the original terrain thus minimizing the need for grading. Piet Mondrian’s paintings have been an inspiration for the texture of the façade. Construction-wise, the building is designed as a ventilated one and its walls are covered with cement fibre panels (Cembonit FDA) in white and in two shades of grey. The panels are 0.5 m wide and tall according to individual levels of the edifice. This way I managed to unify the clean, regular grid of the façade with the windows and the access area.
Strategic management and its impact on development of czech small technological companies
Peterka, Jiří ; Koráb, Vojtěch (advisor)
The objective of the dissertation thesis is both to identify characteristics of strategic management carried out in Czech smaller technological companies and to find strategic aspects and behaviours that determine performance and developmental trend of these firms meaningfully. The thesis is a study in the field of strategic management with broadly understood concept of strategy and strategic management. It makes possible to research the phenomenon of strategy both under circumstances of conceptual pluralism and fragmented findings in the field and supposed specialities in strategic management pursued in SME sector. The thesis follows an abductive approach which means that there are no hypotheses explicitly defined but searching for crucial and fundamental answering up to specified research problem. The thesis exploits empirical data obtained by the mail survey of smaller technological firms around the whole Czech Republic. Using a specially designed fuzzy inference system and performance parameters derived from empirical data the sample of the companies is categorized according to their developmental trend. Consequently, as the most effective multimethod approach, several quantitative and qualitative analyses are made and their results are synthesized in final findings and resolution of the research problem to reach the objectives of the thesis. Also the benefits for theory and practice based on the thesis are evaluated at the end. The results of the thesis validates both the fact that there are patterns of strategic management typical for the population of Czech smaller technological companies and the fact that there is also a casual relationship between the strategic management and the trends of their development.

Study of the limnological components of the ecosytem of Lake Medard in 2022
Peterka, Jiří ; Hejzlar, Josef ; Nedoma, Jiří ; Znachor, Petr ; Seďa, Jaromír ; Vejřík, Lukáš
The report summarizes the results of research into the limnological and biological components of the ecosystem of the newly created Medard post-mining lake. The aim of the presented report is to summarize the results achieved for the year 2022 and recommendations for further monitoring. The year 2022 was the fifth year after the lake was completely filled, when water from the Ohře River was no longer added. Only small tributaries flowed into the lake from its own catchment area, and at the same time, water from the lake drained through seeps, which are apparently drained into the nearby rivers, the Ohře and the Svatava. The lake ecosystem reached the final state of its initial phase in terms of hydrological regime and nutrient load. This condition is characterized by very little water exchange and a low nutrient level with low productivity of plankton communities. There is the development of submerged macrovegetation in littoral zone and a specific seasonal change in chemistry and biological parameters. However, the aquatic ecosystem is still far from stabilized and the biological communities of the littoral zone (littoral) and open water (pelagial), including the fish community, still show significant interannual dynamics.
