Life of Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer and His Contribution in the Field of Film Music

This diploma theses deals with the issues of music in movies. However, it is mainly focused on the life of Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer, one of the temporary Czech film music composer. I approached his life through a biography and an interview. Then I developed the matters of film music upon his work. First, I discussed the historic point of view and than the practical one - three interviewees helped me with that. Futher, I described the process of recording in Smecky Music Studio and I also analysed two parts of soundtrack from the movie Against the Wild which was composed by Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer. Last but not least, the results of a questionare are introduced to show how people perceive film music and its composers.

Josef Suk - important czech violinist of the 20th century

This thesis presents personality of Josef Suk, the great violinist of the 20th century, who followed his famous ancestors - Antonín Dvořák and Josef Suk. Describing Master not only as a violinist, but also as a chamber musician, conductor and pedagogue. Besides personality this famous violinist the work pointing on Czech violin school, which he representatived and his quality of playing the violin was on the top of the violin elite on the world. There is describe co-operation with the others artists, who have important place in his life. Excipting Suk's path work undrapes his private and ideas too. In the end of work is interview with PhDr. Jana Vojtěšková, the author of exhibition about Josef Suk, which was big benefit for my thesis.

Development of Interpretation of the Playing th Violin During the Second Level of Education at Basic Schools of Arts

The diploma thesis is focused on the development of interpretation of violin playing at the advanced level at music schools. The aim of the thesis is to go through different periods of music development and to deepen the quality of means of reproduction and develop basic principles of interpretation in advanced students on the basis of several selected compositions. Another objective is to handle the practising process of each composition creatively. The work is oriented practically and may become useful for violin teachers and advanced students. The problems connected with violin playing are treated from the point of view of performance. The teaching process goes from imagination to realization where the technical skills are means for the realization of imagination and, simultaneously, the final performance is a great deal influenced by the player's technical skills. Also, the possibilities how to develop musical imagination and accomplish successful realization of the process mentioned above are discussed. The central themes of the thesis are the development of interpretation of violin playing and the problems connected with it, both theoretical and practical. Personality of Eugèn Ysaÿe

This disertation turns its focus to one of the most significant personage of violin history. It portrays Eugène Ysaÿe not only as an interpret, conductor and pedagogist, but also as unconventional composer which established underlying milestone influented violin techniques of 20th century. We will point out to amity with leading artistic personalities which affected not only his evolution as composer. On musical examples, we will demonstrate his musical language, composition technique and personal input. This work should serve as complex oversight of Ysaÿe's life and persisting legacy.

Flute as part of chamber music and its use at elementary schools of arts

The main theme of the thesis is a musical instrument called transverse flute and its use in Chamber music subject in primary schools of art. The thesis focuses on chamber music in association with transverse flute, on an available music sheet and problems and benefits of chamber music at the primary school of arts from teachers' perspective. The paper is divided into three broad chapters. In the first chapter, the author focuses on the historical review, the structure and mechanics of the instrument and famous personalities who have influenced and contributed to the importance of transverse flute. In the second chapter, the author describes and characterizes chamber music and its history. She focuses on teaching students and on the method how to use the subject at primary schools of art. Part of this chapter is also a recommendation of specific literature for the students of primary schools of art. In the third chapter, the author addresses the research area which deals with the analysis of specific questions and answers of the questionnaire. Methodological Analysis of Instructive Literature at Music School
