Historical development of steel manufacturing processes from the Middle Ages
Závodná, Marie ; Pešek, Jakub (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis was written during my bachelor studies of mechanical technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Brno. The topic was processed on the basis of professional literature and accessible web servers, which deal with the linear analysis of steel production principles since the Middle Ages and with theis sues of steel reduction and oxidation processes. Contemporary modern steel fabrication procedures are based on simile principles to those which have been used fort hefabrication of steel since thediscovery of iron.
Study of the effect of metallurgical and technological parameters on mechanical properties of aluminium alloys
Pešek, Jakub ; Krahula, Karel (referee) ; Zemčík, Ladislav (advisor)
Sugested thesis has been made with the intent to observe and describe the length of the modifying effect of three different types of modifiers and their effect on the mechanical properties of aluminium alloy. Next step was to process and evaluate links between mechanical properties and chemical composition. Chemical analysis and mechanical properties of cast samples were obtained. For this purpose and a method of metallographic processing was applied afterwards. The grain size was evaluated before and after the heat treatment. Measurements of the secondary dendrite branches and evaluation of the eutectic morphology were made. The hardness was measured on selected samples.
Reduction of automobile weight based on material choice
Svoboda, Svetozár ; Pešek, Jakub (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the choice of a material to reduce the passenger vehicle weight. The thesis also introduces an integrated list of modern materials used in automotive industry and materials with the future in automobile weight reduction and basic criteria of their choice.
History of steelmaking
Pešek, Jakub ; Kaňa, Václav (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This work aims to capture the historical development of treatment technology of iron and steel from the very beginning until about the 60th of the last century. To familiarize readers with the basic materials that are necessary for production of iron and history of procedurs that were and are important for the quality of the material . Another aim is to describe the basic furnaces and forges, which were used during this time and are still used.
Far from Integration: An Example of Disunity in the EU Social Policy - Parental Leave (2016)
Pešek, Jakub ; Brabec, Petr (advisor) ; Pekárek, Štěpán (referee)
Well-integrated economic policies, open market and advanced institutional frameworks are examples of successful EU integration process, nonetheless, EU still contains areas, such as social policy, which have been almost untouched by integration. This may be a serious issue because social policy influences economic growth, development and the level of employment. Therefore, the EU should search the most appropriate social policy and examine its integration. The thesis questions this integration of social policy on the apposite example of parental leave. Furthermore, it describes and examines the parental leave in three EU countries (UK, SE, CZ), which represent diverse welfare state models. Parental allowances are computed for five standardised families describing real-life situations. Also, they are compared to demonstrate the disunity and the specifics of the systems. The main contribution of the thesis resides in the unconventional approach of using the calculations of the benefits to directly investigate the integration of social policy.
