Operative treatment of the fractures of the proximal humerus with angular stable nails - prospective study
Kloub, Martin ; Džupa, Valér (advisor) ; Čižmář, Igor (referee) ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee)
Dissertation work deals with the strategy of the operative treatment of the proximal humerus with angular stable nails. In experimental part were by the novel technique from cadavers prepared three part fractures and stabilized by the intramedulary nail Targon PH tested. In the clinical part were analysed long-term results of the treatment by this technique in own cohort of patients. Experimental part of the thesis showed excellent biomechanical features of the osteosynthesis and confirmed suitability of this technique for the treatment of humeral head fractures. Longterm results obtained in the clinical part then confirmed effectivness of the treatment by intramedullary nail Targon PH for all types of the fractures of the proximal humerus. In the group of the fractures of the surgical neck were found out majority of excellent or good results in all age groups with low rate of complications, in the group of the fractures of humeral head significant dependance of the clinical result and head necrosis development on the quality of the reduction of the fracture. Arbitrability of Anti-competitive Agreements in the Law of the European Union
Pavelka, Tomáš ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Šmejkal, Václav (referee)
In the past, an Irish barrister and arbitrator James Bridgeman remarked that the arbitration of competition law is a meeting of two black arts. This perception has not changed since and yet, the adjudication of anti-competitive agreements in arbitration is an everyday event of real life. This thesis, after a brief summary of history of arbitrability of competition law, picks specific issues closely tied to current practical problems that arbitrators must face. First, whether arbitrators should consider themselves as being under obligation to raise competition issues of their own motion (ex officio) during arbitration proceedings, secondly, whether national courts of the EU Member States must automatically set arbitral awards in breach of competition rules aside and thirdly, whether arbitrators are in a good position to address complex antitrust questions properly and whether they can receive some help from the official competition authorities entrusted with primary enforcement of antitrust law. Mainly EU law will be covered here albeit with few brief excursions into particular problems of national law of the Czech Republic, to which this thesis endorses relevant solutions.
Treatment of Pelvic Ring Fracture Using Spinopelvic Fixation (Types of Fixation, Indications, Functional Results, Mechanical Characteristics)
Weisová, Drahomíra ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Douša, Pavel (referee) ; Chaloupka, Richard (referee)
In the case of a high-energy injury (traffic accident, fall from above), a pelvic ring injury with vertical instability and/or a sacrum injury with spinopelvic instability may occur. Such instabilities threaten the basic functions of the pelvic ring and lumbosacral junction. Adequate transmission of body and limb load is not possible through such injured segments. The solution is some form of reduction and stabilization to achieve the restoration of anatomical conditions and a gentle and firm connection. Spinopelvic dissociation in some cases accompanying pelvic ring fractures and / or damages is a complex injury with a difficult solution. The frequency of occurrence is reported in the literature 2.9-3.1 %. The number of such accidents is on the rise with higher density and aggressiveness of traffic, the great popularity of dangerous human activities and the accelerating pace of life. Most of these fractures are treated surgically, non-surgical treatment is reserved only for patients who are unable to undergo surgery for internal or local reasons. In our study group, we evaluated a group of patients with a pelvic ring fracture and / or sacral fracture with spinopelvic dissociation who were treated at our workplace in the period 2009- 2019. During this period, 222 patients with a pelvic fracture...
Minimally invasive stabilization of posterior pelvic ring injuries with a transiliac internal fixator and two iliosacral screws: comparison of outcome and biomechanics
Salášek, Martin ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Džupa, Valér (referee) ; Plánka, Ladislav (referee)
Introduction: Vertically unstable sacral transforaminal fractures can be stabilized both with a transiliac internal fixator (TIFI) or iliosacral screws (IS). Goals: 1. comparison of radiological and clinical results between dorsal pelvic segment stabilization with TIFI, IS respectively, 2. evaluation and comparison of biomechanical parameters of TIFI and IS construct. Material and methods of clinical study: Prospective study, both TIFI and IS group had 32 patients, the most of injuries were assessed as type C1.3, only patients with a high-energy mechanism of injury were included. Radiological results were evaluated according Matta, clinical results according Majeed score, Pelvic Outcome Score. Categorical data were evaluated by two-sided Fishers exact test or Pearson's χ2 test, continuous data by Student's t-test, a test result with p <0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Methods of biomechanical study: Using CT images, finite element model of the pelvis was developed. Pohlemann type II fracture was simulated and fixed either with TIFI or two IS. The sacral base was loaded vertically (250-500 N), displacement magnitudes on medial and lateral fracture surface and the maximum bone stress were calculated. The intact pelvis was used as a reference. Stiffness was determined by linear...
Actor´s Work In The Project Theater And The Regular Theater
Lurie, Michal ; PAVELKA, Tomáš (advisor) ; ŠIKTANCOVÁ, Jaroslava (referee)
As a topic of my master thesis, I chose the comparison of the actor's work in the project theater and the regular theater. In individual chapters, I describe the work in progress in these different environments. I describe the differences between both subjects and their influence on the actor's work.
External and internal means of acting characterization
Trnková, Kamila ; PAVELKA, Tomáš (advisor) ; HLAVICA, Lukáš (referee)
External and internal means of acting characterization The diploma thesis deals with the differences between the external and internal means used by the actor in creating the role and the suitability of their use. The author first defines the basics terms with which she works in the course of her work and their mutual relationships. Than she deals with self-stylization as a factor that influences actor in real life and consequentlly also during his profession. At the hearth of the work is the author´s reflection on her own acting dewelopment in the context of the initial rejection of external actors, and their subsequent admission. The lessons learned by the author to analyze the possible advantages and disadvantages of the chosen medium have gained from the experience gained during the DAMU studies, the first experience in film acting and the professional theater scene.
SELF-CONFIDENCE AND FREEDOM IN ACTING
Kaňoková, Beáta ; SALZMANNOVÁ, Eva (advisor) ; PAVELKA, Tomáš (referee)
My thesis deals with lack of self-confidence and lack of freedom in acting that comes with it. It tries to search and denominate single aspects which can lead to stated issue or eventually to its intensifying. Furthermore it’s a subjective reflection of my entire studies at Theatre Faculty since my first year until graduation productions at Disk theatre
Modern systems for lighting control
Klein, Tomáš ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This Master's thesis deals with intelligent installation systems, focused on lighting systems using the DALI bus system. Theoretical part of this work includes a list of currently available intelligent installation systems and its use in both households and industrial buildings. A summarizing description of KNX and DALI bus systems and their actuators and actuating units are a part of this paper. The practical part proposes two examplary boards designed for laboratories of UEEN VUT in Brno and describes its construction, as well as the programs necessary for its programming, control and monitoring. The outcome of this Master's thesis is a survey of possible remote control of DALI bus system's actuators and mutual compatibility of KNX and DALI bus systems. Furthermore, this paper includes background material for laboratory task, based on data found about remote control and DALI bus system's monitoring.
