Structure - space - city Urban block complation
Burešová, Karolína ; Kurtis, Gabriel (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
Based on a regulatory plan, I chose a plot of the city corner for my diploma thesis, which is an introduction to Francouzská Street. At present, this plot is used only as a parking lot, but it is located in an interesting busy place in the mouth of the five roads. Based on the new regulatory plan, the plot is located on the dominant site of the city piazzetta with a function full of people and commercial partners. My goal is to create a significant city corner, which will be a local dominant of the nearby area. The filling of the house is commercial, administrative, and residential. The proposal will allow fluctuations in the ratio between these functions due to the variability of market demand. With the statue of a staircase, I want to create a communication space for the residents of the house, where PROMENADE will be created and at the same time will serve as an interesting backdrop for the parterre.

Galusková, Hana ; Ondrejka, Ľubomír (referee) ; Palaščak, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis intends to add a new perspective to the area of Kamenný vrch, which is currently dominated by a residential function. The urban design defines the center of the site, thus responding to the lack of a unified public space for the inhabitants. The designed mixed-use building is located in the southeast of the area and includes residential units on the upper floors, a vertical farm, and a market. The vertical farm and market bring new work opportunities to the area and are an interesting tourist attraction. The functions and form of the building are primarily influenced by the noise pollution from the surrounding roads and the orientation to the cardinal points.

Abstract: The Bachelor´s thesis is finding a design solution for the new City hall situated in Brno. It replaces the current one which has a lack of space. Primary quest is to revitalize the area by bringing a new functions. Thanks to its location it has a big potencial to become nice and attractive place. Based on urbanistic studies in this area, it has been decided to add an apartment houses next to the city hall. The important part of the concept is the light, which is forming the shape of the buildings. But the problem lies on the top of the block, where it is almost impossible to get the sun beams into the building. Therefore the top part is removed from the mass form, creating two blocks. The first one is moving foward. The second one is pushed back, opening the space in front of the City hall and also letting the sun beams to spread in-between the two blocks.

Slouková, Hana ; Palaščák, Michal (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The new transfer terminal in the former royal town of Dvůr Králové nad Labem brings together and connects public transport with individual. The main objective of the proposal is the functional merger of public bus and suburban bus services, pedestrians and the introduction of train connections on the existing siding. At present the town is mainly associated with the ZOO Dvůr Králové and is perceived more as "Dvůr by ZOO" then city itself with history. As a result of popularity of ZOO city loses a substantial part of the tourists. Concept of design is based on lines that lead or guide the passenger to the given points of interest in the city, but the primary remains a clear open space with direct links to the surroundings - the city. The proposal focuses on passenger comfort and easy orientation in space in response to the anticipated development of the structure and infrastructure of the city with the restoration of its identity.

The subject of my bachelor's thesis is the design of a multifunctional building in a selected gap in the center of Brno in Jezuitská Street. The main idea was to create a multifunctional house that will be suitably designed into a cramped and deep gap and will combine several functional units. It is primarily civic amenities with services, administrative functions and mostly student housing. On the ground floor there is a shop and a cafe. In my work I deal with the material connection to the surrounding buildings of the place and I respect it. In the cramped narrow gap, which has a given area, it was necessary to divide the building plot into 2 masses due to sufficient sun exposure of all spaces. The main mass, which closes the street line on Jezuitská Street and the second, which closes the gap in the park of Danuše Muzikářová. In the central part there is a smaller courtyard with vertical communication with a singlearm staircase and a barrier-free solution - an elevator. The horizontal communication consists of balconies, which connect the two materials on each floor and from them there are accesses to individual apartments and offices. In the proposed multifunctional building, there is a passage from Jezuitská Street through the courtyard with greenery to Danuše Muzikářová Park on the ground floor.

Gomboš, Michal ; Bujna, Tomáš (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
After successfully avoiding of the destructive scenario with the demolition of reservoirs and replacing them with parking house, the second question arises. How to stimulate the people's interest in these underground jewels, the interest that would confirm the decision to save reservoirs. One of the possible ways, in which I see a purpose and the one that I decided to chose is to make the reservoirs accessible alongside the pathway and let the natural curiosity of human to do the rest.

Daňová, Veronika ; Poláš, Michal (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The reconciled territory is situated on the western bank of the Svitavy River along Masná Street. Approximate distance to the center is circa 10 minutes. In the area which was used to abattior , most of it´s part is unused and unbuilt. The parcels are located in the industrial part of Brno. The aim of our urban design was to revive the area near the industrial zone and to add objects with function of services and housing that are missing here. The main objective is to connect the river with the city and to use its potential. The block of flats is designed as an end house. On the southern side there is a stairway that connects the pedestrian zone and the riverside. The facade facing the river is predominantly glazed and provides more view of the river and more interior lights.

The urban design creates a pleasant part of the city near the river in connection with the city center and offers various functions in the location with the river which is now isolated from the city life. The basic idea of the apartment building is opening the facade facing the south, offering various apartment floor plans and putting an accent on connection between the river and housing using the system of terraces.
Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)
Rozsypal, Petr ; Poláš, Michal (referee) ; Palaščák, Michal (advisor)
The area of water reservoirs on Žlutý kopec is a unique site of a technical herritage, which has the potential to be attractive to the general public. Its uniqueness lies not only in the interiors of individual reservoirs, but also in the large flat areas of greenery, under which the reservoirs are hidden. Due to the size and location of the area within the city, it would be irresponsible to sacrifice it only for tourism and keep it closed to the public most of the time. Since I am of the opinion that the city of Brno has more than enough underground structures sacrificed to tourism, the aim of my work is to find a way to meaningfully integrate this area into the structure of the city, so that it becomes as much a daily part of it as possible.
