Partial Czech translations of the Roman Breviary 1800-1974
PAVLÍK, Jakub
The thesis examines Czech translations from the Roman Breviary created in the period between 1800 and the liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council. Catalogue of such translations has been prepared. Based on the catalogue, the most important text families are identified and described in detail. It turns out that most of the translations were created for purposes of publicly celebrated Vespers, chanted in the vernacular. Based on historical experience with this pre-conciliar paraliturgical form, a few final suggestions are made for public celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours today.
Psalter of the Roman Divine Office and It's Changes in the 20th Century
PAVLÍK, Jakub
During the 20th century two new Latin translations of the Psalter were prepared for use in the Roman Divine Office. The "Pian Psalter" (1945) was a work of professors of the Pontifical Biblical Institute, fulfilling an order of pope Pius XII. Another translation was prepared in course of the Second Vatican Council's liturgical reform and included in Liturgia horarum (1971, 1985). The first part of the thesis, historical in it's nature, describes origin of both translations and their reception. The second part demonstrates their character on selected psalms and compares them. Finally, differences and meaning shifts are evaluated. How did both Psalter translations change meaning of the prayer of the Church?

Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Analytical Chemistry Candidate: Jakub Pavlík Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. PharmDr. Lucie Nováková, Ph. D. Title of Diploma thesis: Use of UHPLC-MS/MS method for the evaluation of the effect of flavouring additives on the content of catechins in tea samples and matrix effects This diploma thesis is based on the findings published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis [1], which describes the incidence of matrix effects in several samples of flavored tea infusions. Measured matrix effects were not very high (ranging from -5.3% to + 10.4%), as well as the number of analyzed samples. Therefore, the research in this thesis was focused on the analysis of commercially available teas using a tea bagged (Pickwick) and loose leaf tea (Basilur). Loose leaf tea has been used for the preparation of custom blends with better defined composition. In total, 11 different flavors which are commonly used were tested in this study including: cranberry fruits, mint leaf, rosehip fruit, lemon zest, orange zest, ginger root, rose flower, cinnamon bark, lemon grass, jasmine blossom and vanilla. Analyses were carried out on the ACQUITY Ultra Performance LC coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometer Quattro Micro (Waters)...
