PAPÁČKOVÁ, Štěpánka
In my thesis i focus on the connection of psychotherapy and socialwork. Not only in psychotherapy its important to focus on mental well being. Social worker may also meet people who do not feel well and need psychological support. I focused on the definiti-ons of psychotherapy and social work. I also compared their goals. I focused on approaches and theories of social work which are taken from psychotherapy. In my thesis i tried to answer the question whether social work uses methods of psychotherapy and what elements they share. Part of my thesis is also description of ethics of these two subjects. The conclusion of my thesis is evaluation of common and different points of psychotherapy and social work as charity work. From the results of my task i concluded that social work uses some techniques, methods and approaches that are taken over from psychotherapy. It is important that social worker is well educated and has enough expe-riences and personal prerequisites so there is no possibility of damaging a client.
