Stress Management in Conference Interpreting
Přibylová, Marie ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Rejšková, Jana (referee)
The present thesis focuses on stress management in conference interpreting. It explains the biological purpose of stress, stressors - aspects inducing a stress reaction, and the physiological, behavioral, emotional and cognitive symptoms and effects. Special attention is paid to occupational stress, namely in relation to interpreting, to the requirements on an interpreter's personality, and to stressors interpreters generally face. The thesis presents a detailed dscription of stress management- and coping styles, strategies and techniques. The empirical part explores the positive and negative expectations of interpreting students in the earliest stage of their studies in terms of stress, and aims at discovering whether students of interpreting as well as professional interpreters consider interpreting a stressful activity, whether they feel that stress management- and coping strategies and techniques should constitute an integral part of interpreter training, and whether this is or is not the case. The research concerned university institutes and departments of selected universities in the Czech Republic and abroad. On the basis of the outcomes of this research recommendations for practice concerning stress management, especially in terms of interpreter training, are outlined. Keywords: stress,...
Antiproliferative, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of quinones, terpenoids and their derivatives
Přibylová, Marie ; Vaněk, Tomáš (advisor) ; Smrček, Stanislav (referee) ; Hájek, Miroslav (referee)
Plant compounds play an important role in human medicine. They are a source of new drugs or serve as an inspiration for drugs' development. This thesis presents a study about syntheses of derivatives and biological activities of two groups of natural products, quinones and terpenoids. Terpenoids are plant secondary metabolites which are known for their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumoral activities. We have focused on two representatives, paclitaxel and carvacrol. GnRH-paclitaxel anti-tumor conjugates potentially suitable for targeted delivery to cancer cells were prepared. Their antiproliferative activities in vitro were evaluated on MCF-7 cancer cell line and cytotoxicity in rat hepatocytes. Carvacrol and its derivative were tested for its possible anti- inflammatory effect, which was assessed in vitro as their potential to inhibit prostaglandin E2 biosynthesis via cyclooxygenase pathway. Quinones, other targets of the thesis, are well-known for biological activities similar to terpenoids. Thymoquinone, juglone and their derivatives were tested in vitro as inhibitors of cyclooxygenases and 5-lipoxygenase. Derivatives of juglone were prepared to help us to suggest structure-activity relationship of this compound. Thymoquinone and its derivatives were evaluated for their antioxidant capacity...
Commented translation: Lace wars. Uniforms and equipment of the household of the French king and infantry soldiers under Louis XV. and Louis XVI., and of the British and Prussian infantry in the years of 1700-1800
Přibylová, Marie ; Šotolová, Jovanka (referee) ; Belisová, Šárka (advisor)
The work Commented translation: Lace wars. Uniforms and equipment of the Household of the French King and infantry soldiers under Louis XV. and Louis XVI., and of the British and Prussian infantry in the years of 1700-1800 consists of two parts: A Czech translation of the first part of the above mentioned publication, and a commentary on this translation. The commentary concentrated on the differences between the two languages (French and Czech) and on the translating strategies ensuing from these. It describes the structure of the text (the book as well as the chosen part) and gives information on the authors and the editor. As to translation, special attention has been paid to grammatical, lexicological, terminological, stylistic and factual aspects of the translated text, cohesion and coherence as well as mistakes and unclarities. The motives for choosing the text are listed, together with reasons of the importance of its translation. A brief conclusion and bibliografy follow.
Podpora mobility osob a transferu znalostí v EU: Erasmus+ na příkladu projektu venkovského turismu v rámci mobility mládeže
Přibylová, Marie
This bacherol thesis deals with the analysis of various possibilities of knowledge transfer in short-term projects under auspices of Erasmus+ Programme valid for the period of 2014-2020. The theoretical part briefly defines relevant concepts associated with mobility, regional policy and knowledge transfer. Furthemore, it outlines development of the educational policy of European Union, impacts of such programs supporting the mobility, and description of the Erasmus+ Programme, which is in the case of this thesis essential. The main emphasis is placed on demarcation of procedural and administrative requisites preceding the submission of the grant application for short-term projects of so called youth exchanges. The outcome of this thesis is a model youth exchange and its possibility of implementation in practise.
In vitro determination of antimicrobial, antioxidative and antiphlogistic aktivity of quinones from seeds of Nigella sativa

The in vitro anti-yeast, antioxidant, and anti-inf1ammatory activities ofblack cumin (Nigella sativa) seed quinones, namely dithymoquinone (DTQ), thymohydroquinone (THQ), and thymoquinone (TQ), were evaluated in frame of this work. The results showed that THQ and TQ possessed significant anti-yeast activity and affected the growth of aH strains tested at two pH levels with minimum inhibitory concentrations ranging from 8 to 128 !lg/ml. The best scavenging activity was produced by THQ, which showed a remarkable activity of 2.60 Trolox equivalents (TE) in a concentration range between 1.6 and 6.4 !lg/mL and lCso value of 2.4 !lg/mL in ORAC and DPPH assays, respectively. Contrastingly, TQ possessed only weak DPPH scavenging efficacy (ICso = 170 !lg/mL) but significant antioxidative action of 1.91 TE in ORAC assay. In anti-inf1ammatory assay, THQ and TQ possessed significant inhibitory activity against COX-l and -2 at the concentrations comparable with indomethacin. The data presented in this work suggest that THQ and TQ are biologically effective agents with potential for application in food or phalmaceutical industries.
A comparison of efficacy of direct and indirect methods of genetic transformation of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)
PŘIBYLOVÁ, Marie
Potato is one of the main targets for genetic improvement by gene transfer. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of genetic transformation of potato, cultivar Bintje, using two methods: Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediated transformation and microprojectile bombardment. The same plasmid p35SGUSint, which cosists of 35S CaMV promoter, gus and nptII genes, was used for both transformations of internodal potato explants. Kamamycin selection, transient and stable expressions of {$\beta$}-glucuronidase and PCR amplification of gus and nptII transgenes were used for transgenic plant selection, identification and analysis.

Several oligomers of L-glutamic acid (n = 2-10) were synthesized by a solid phase method, analyzed and separated by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) as anions in alkaline background electrolytes of different composition at pH range 8.1-10.0.
