The diversity of personality and spirituality types in the priesthood
Beran, Jiří ; Sládek, Karel (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
The diversity of personality and forms of spirituality in the priesthood Every priest, who received the serving, sacramental priesthood, should try to be another Christ. Nevertheless, each person is an original however, and his behavior is influenced by inherited characteristics, congenital conditions, and different life stories. During my studies of theology, I tried to explain the differences related to the priests I followed, by their different attitude toward Christ and his church. During my studies, I also started to perceive the importance of the priest's attitude toward the humanity of Christ. The connexion to the orthodoxy has always attraced me. While I was writing my thesis, I tried to find the answer to the differencies in the diversity, which, for many people within the church, is a problem to settle with, or to justify. So, the thesis is dedicated to the research of the personalities of the priests, to their own attitude, their own spirituality, and its influence on people. I would like this thesis to help to make people understand that we can all reach the same Destination by using more possible ways, which depend on our humanity and our nature. I am convinced that just the good spirituality is something which respects the diversity and the unrepeatability of the particular ways. Key...

Tchaj-ti cchüan and its use in work with seniors
Bendová, Kateřina ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Eliáš, Vojtěch (referee)
The topic of this paper is a traditional Chinese health and exercise system called Tchaj-ťi čchüan. In the first chapter I introduce the system's philosophical roots, Taoism, and its connection with social work, and, due to fundamental differences between eastern and western modes of thoughts, I seek to give context, and make understandable the thoughts of and origins of tchaj-ťi. Next I describe what tchaj-ťi means, and a bit about its history. Because Tchaj-ťi has many different schools, it is important to describe each main style, as they all comprise the totality. The following chapter is a description of various styles of Tchaj-ťi art. The fourth chapter is a human connection of its physical and spiritual dimension. Physical dimension is important as spiritual and Tchaj-ťi connects both of them so that person can develop both of them equally. The next part is a discussion of the practical usage of tchaj-ťi, in particular with seniors. The chapter following is about Taoist tchaj-ťi, and is instrumental in giving some examples of this art playing a role in social work. The last chapter concerns my personal experiences with tchaj-ťi čchüan, and observations coming from my personal involvement. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Media without virtue? Ethical aspects of the digital structural transformation of the public
Vizina, Petr ; Štica, Petr (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
The thesis is an attempt to capture some of the ethical and social challenges posed by the digital structural transformation of the public. In the text I develop the idea of the social doctrine of the Church, which considers media as a means of communication as a gift from God. The paper investigates whether and how this fundamental aspect of Christian social ethics can be considered in the context of the fundamental transformation of social and individual communication during digital structural change. The thesis aims to explore how and where classic norms of journalism such as impartiality, balance and factuality on the part of the media are shifting and changing in a new context, in the context of the spread and availability of digital technologies and how digital platforms have transformed the production and dissemination of media content. Questions around the economic and knowledge asymmetries associated with the development of communication technologies, and the social and ethical implications for the actions of individuals and communities are part of the consideration. Bedřich Vašek and the "Christian Sociology" in the Context of the Development of the Church's Social Teaching in the First Half of the 20th Century. Implications for the 21st Century
M. Demartini, Lenka ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Štica, Petr (referee) ; Halama, Jindřich (referee)
The dissertation seeks an answer to the question of the content of the somewhat paradoxical phrase "Christian sociology", specifically the content of Christian sociology as conceived by the Moravian scholar of the first half of the 20th century Bedřich Vašek (1882-1959). At the same time, however, as a result of the insights brought by the research itself, the original thesis was supplemented by the question of the current state of this specific rejuvenating field. The idea of Christian sociology remained virtually dormant from the 1950s until the later 1970s. The revival of the field can be seen as an apparent response to both the methodological changes of the Second Vatican Council and the advent of postmodern society. The research has provided a wealth of stimuli for exploring the relationship between the historical phenomenon of Christian sociology and contemporary notions of the Christian or Catholic perspective in sociology and, more broadly, the relationship between the social doctrine of the Church, theology and sociology in international and domestic settings. Through a specifically chosen methodological approach, which combines the study of authentic papal documents from the first half of the 20th century, the study of archival materials related to the person of Bedřich Vašek, the...
