Churche of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Stará Boleslav

Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Stará Boleslava This diploma thesis deal the pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Stará Boleslav. The first part will mainly dedicate the church, which according to the literature replace today's baroque church, but by the Archaeological Survey apparently found another place. Followed by a description of the course of construction, its architectural analysis and a brief mention of zhe buildings that inspired the church. The biggest part will be devoted to interior decoration of the church and a detailed description of each part of the decoration. Next chapter closer to building cloisters, their paintings and other aquipment. Final chapter is devoted Palladium of Czech land, legends associated with him, its history and pilgramages, which took place in Stará Boleslav. Svatá Hora and Bohosudov in Baroque Graphic

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is graphic depictions of Svatá Hora and Bohosudov, that were made in the 17th and 18th century. Administered by Society of Jesus, these Marian pilgrimage sites played its role during the huge recatholization after the Battle of White Mountain. Graphic depictions seem to be the signs of pilgrims devotion, as they worshiped miracle Madonna, objects of worship, and, simultaneously, very important part of Bohemia graphic printmaking. According to the vedutas, it is possible to watch the development of an architecture through the 17th and 18th century. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to collect graphic depictions mentioned above and make the catalog of them. Anotace: Bakalářská práce se zabývá novodobým liturgickým vybavením v kostele Panny Marie Vítězné a sv. Antonína Paduánského na Malé Straně, které navrhl a zhotovil český akademický sochař Otmar Oliva. Ten pro karmelitský kostel vytvořil nový oltář, ambon, kříž, křtitelnici s kropenkou v jednom a další liturgické předměty, které byly završeny slavnostním obřadem svěcení dne 18. října 2015. Práce má za cíl představit sochaře Otmara Olivu a seznámit s jeho pracemi pro kostel Panny Marie Vítězné. Tato práce je zaměřena v kontextu se zajímavou historií kostela, která je rovněž spjatá s historií naší země. Část práce se věnuje údajům od založení luteránského kostela Nejsvětější Trojice, a kdy po jejich vypovězení po bitvě na Bílé Hoře získali stavbu bosí karmelitáni. Dále se zaměřuje na samotnou architekturu kostela, na jeho interiér a vnitřní vybavení.

The thesis was named "Count František Josef Pachta in the role of the builder and architect. The architectonic transformation of the ancestral estates of František Josef Pachta in the late baroque period". Count František Josef Pachta was quite a notable person of Czech baroque and he held many significant political posts. Especially during the baroque period, members of Pachta family were involved in building activities at their ancestral residences, and František Josef Pachta was no exception. The thesis is primary focused on summarising Pachta's building activities and the architectural description of individual buildings such as for example mansion and church of St. Peter and Paul in Bezno, mansion Nový Falkenburg and Virgin Mary's Birth church in Jablonné v Podještědí or Pachta's townhouses in Prague. The thesis also deals with question, if count Pachta was also an "architect-dilettante", which in this case means a person, who deals with designing buildings even though he is not trained to do it. Roman baroque building elements on St. Joseph church compared to other churches in Central Europe

The master thesis "Roman baroque building elements on St. Joseph church compared to other churches in Central Europe" deals with Roman buildings features in the Carmelite nuns church of St. Joseph in the Lesser Town of Prague. It elucidates the main architectural theme, which is using the architectonic elements of the dome of St. Peter's basilica in the interior of the church of St. Joseph. The thesis sums facts about Abraham Paris - the most probable author of the ground plan. Apart from the detailed description St. Joseph church, the chapters devoted to architecture describe also some Roman churches which might have served as models for St. Joseph church. The thesis further mentions the influence of contemporary philosophical views on emerging baroque buildings in Rome and in Bohemia. The thesis also includes examples of using architectonic elements from famous Roman buildings understood as a way to communicate certain ideological intentions. Saint Elizabeth's spital in Pohořelec The extant altarpieces of the spital's chapel Abstract This thesis deals with the Saint Elizabeth's spital in Pohořelec near the monastery of Premonstratensians in Strahov. This spital was founded by the abbot Kaspar Questenberg and was located in the western part of Pohořelec. However, the original building wasn't preserved, because it had to yield to Prague's fortification in the 60's of the 17th century. Under the abbot Vincenc Makarius Frank the new spital was constructed. There was the chapel dedicated to the patron St. Elisabeth, which was mentioned in the written sources since the beginning of the hospital existence. During few years there were also ordered altarpieces. The contemporary literature associates only two paintings of saints with Saint Elizabeth's spital (St. Barbara and St. Rosalia). These paintings were placed on the side altars of the chapel and today are in the possession of the Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov. Thanks to the preserved written sources, we were able to discover additional information of the spital's equipment and the chapel main altarpiece. Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings Lysá nad Labem

The diploma thesis Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem deals with the area of Bon Repos and baroque monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem that arose thanks to the benefactor Count Francis Anthony Spork. Unfortunately, most of the monuments no longer exist. The first part of this diploma thesis deals with the history of the town Lysá nad Labem and also with its monuments including the life of Count Spork. In the second part of the thesis we can find the detailed description of the ecclesiastical and the secular monuments in surroundings of Lysá nad Labem, which were built at the times during the Count Spork's life. The monuments' description was done according to the engravings and sources from the period of the first half of the 18th century. The third part of this thesis describes the area of Bon Repos which was built by Count Spork. In this part we can also find the history of the site and the description of its baroque form. Unfortunately, the site of Bon Repos was rebuilt by archbishop Prichovsky in the second half of the 18th century. It is for this reason that the description of the baroque site was done thanks to the engravings and sources from that period. The diploma thesis deals with life and work of a baroque sculptor Jiří František Pacák in East Bohemia. The thesis focuses on Pacák's artistic beginnings in pilgrimage church in Chlumek u Luže. It illustrates influence of sculptor Matyáš Bernard Braun on Pacák's sculpture production and describes his artistic development in town of Žireč, Žacléř, Polička and other places in the region. The thesis includes a catalogue of Pacák's work
