Initial and permanent formation of permanent deacons in Brno diocese

Annotation The aim of this Bachelor thesis called "Initial and Permanent Formation of Permanent Deacons in Brno Diocese" is to describe and then evaluate the formation of permanent deacons, applicants and deacons already ordained in Brno Diocese in the time period of 2000 to 2010. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part describes the restitution of permanent deaconship after the II. Vatican Council, the general service of the permanent deaconship in the tradition of the Church and Church documents, which relate to this topic on a general level. The second part deals with the formation of permanent deacons including the initial formation for applicants for permanent deaconship and formation of permanent deacons after their ordination as it is implemented in Brno Diocese. The Textbook of History for Grammar school students - the qantitative analysis

The bachelor thesis contains the analysis of four volumes of the textbook of world and Czech history for grammar school and high school students, written in Czech language: 'Dějepis pro gymnázia a střední školy', Praha 2001 - 2002, author of it's conception is Petr Čornej. The bachelor thesis evaluates the frequency of content related to Christianity to all of the content of the texbook. This frequency in four volumes is 5,25%, 35,80%, 3,83% and 2,21% respectively. The bachelor thesis also identifies all the negative or positive statements on Christianity. The result of the thesis is that the frequency of content related to Christianity is adequate, if we take into consideration that the textbook mainly deals with political history. The negative and positive statements are not an intention of the authors, but a result of mistakes, clumsiness and unintentional acceptation of historical paterns we could find in school texbooks in era of the former state regime.
Objectives and tasks of catechesis in the current documents of the Magisterium

This thesis deals with the objectives and tasks of catechesis in the current documents of the Magisterium. The artist works primarily with the Apostolic Exhortations Evangelii nuntiandi, Catechesi tradendae and with the document Directorium generale pro catechesi. After a critical review of literature the thesis seeks identity of catechesis in the Churchʼs evangelising activity, than tries to analyse features of the Christian, Church Community and Church, to be achieved by means of catechesis. The objectives of catechesis are achieved through tasks of catechesis. The thesis seeks to look up tasks of catechesis of the analysed documents of Magisterium and tries to accord this tasks to three pillars of the identity of catechesis: education of faith, service to Godʼs word, the activity of the Church. The thesis analyses the tasks of catechesis as education of faith in three levels. First, tasks of catechesis according to degree of maturity of faith - to wake up, to develop, to lead towards maturity, to strenghten the faith. Second, the essence of tasks of catechesis as education of faith represent tasks to promote the knowledge of the Christian message, education to prayer, to participation on the liturgy, to moral formation, to responsability for the Community and to mission. The Impact of the Society of Jesus on education in The Czech lands

Firstly, the present thesis, "The Impact of The Society of Jezus on education in The Czech lands", introduces a person of Ignatius of Loyola, who founded the Society of Jezus, and gives a short overview of events including the establishment of the Society and its expansion mainly in Europe. Concerning this the thesis answers a question of some typical features of The Company. The history of the Society in the Czech lands follows. This chapter also includes some notable Czech members of the Society of Jesus. A view of process of education in the Czech lands introduces a second part of the thesis. In the second part of the thesis there is reflected education though time. There is pointed out the influence of the Society not only on process of school education, but also on process of education in general. However, it is difficult to see all of these in complexity of contemporary education. Moreover, it is not the point of the thesis to cover this complexity of problems of education, so the emphasis is put on some main periods and forms of Jesuits' activities. Considering all of this, of course it is possible to find some disadvantages of their impact on society, but anyway, in this case positive aspects are more noteworthy.
The Activity of Caritas in Archdiocese of Prague between 1989 - 2009

Submitted thesis describes charitable activity in Christianity and its history as well as charitable activity in other religions. Thesis focuses mainly on research and the analysis of Prague archdiocese charitable activity within years 1989 - 2002 of available information. Paper presents findings that result from the analysis of charitable activity within areas of social work, humanitarian aid and above all development co-operation. In diploma thesis, we described various fulfilments of supportive development projects, especially the most conspicuous and the most significant participation in development activity -on project Remote adoption. The significance of this activity between years 1993 - 2009 reflects its results. Submitted paper qualifies results of analysis and determinates further possibilities of given problem`s examination. The basic purpose of thesis is on the basis of gained results, pointed on significant contribution of Prague archdiocese charitable activity not only within Czech Republic, but also in foreign countries. Moreover, the practical importance of thesis is seen as a feedback on complexity, range and variability of Prague archdiocese charitable activity for reader, other institutions as well as for Prague archdiocese itself. Assistance to the handicapped people and their families

Diploma thesis Assistance to the handicapped people and their families deals with demanding challenges which parents with children born with handicap are faced. Concerning the exacting situations that aren't one - time but long-term, parents are grateful for each support or help. Therefore a sensitive assistance to these families is very important. To make it effective, it's necessary to understand both thinking, feelings, handicapped child's needs and members of their broad surroundings. That's why this thesis occupies with challenging life situations, stress and stress coping in general, child's handicap, accepting this child and related unexpected new situations by parents. The thesis deals with issues related to children with autism and with Down's syndrome. It presents significant role of support for children with handicap and their families provided by the self-governed associations and groups. It occupies with assistance to these families with handicapped children by means of challenge for pastoral work and evangelization. Internet and the Holy See

This diploma thesis called Internet and the Holy See deals with a specific question concerning relationship between the Catholic Church and media. It examines development of the attitude of the Holy See to the Internet in context of its attitude to mass media on the basis of exploration of ecclesiastical documents related to media and analysis of Internet and mass media use in practice. It takes the Internet as the latest fundamental milestone in development of human communication and probes how the Catholic Church represented by the Holy See deals with this phenomenon. Name of this thesis begins with the word Internet, to indicate perspective chosen on this topic. In the last chapter there are conclusions emerging from analysis of ecclesiastical documents compared with actual use of the Internet by the Holy See.
Christian Church Funeral Ceremonies

he diploma thesis "Christian Church Funeral Ceremonies" deals with Roman Catholic Church funeral ceremonies, both preceding and following the Second Vatican Council reforms, Greek Catholic Church funeral ceremonies and those of Eastern Orthodox Church, Czechoslovak Hussite Church and Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. It describes various ceremonies and their historical development. By means of comparing the structures of these ceremonies it attempts to find what they have in common as well as what makes them distinctively different in terms of liturgy and theological teaching. It examines the theme of death, after-life conceptions, and funeral ceremonies in life of ancient people and European pagans, Jewish tradition and culture of Middle ages. It also covers the area of the last things of a man and resurrection matter as far as it is mentioned in liturgical books. Finally it questions the suitability of available liturgical texts concerning special cases and new forms of funeral ceremonies. Catechesy for the adults. Situation in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic

Presented work introduces basic view of Catechesis in Czech Republic considerating from the foundation of the republic - Czechoslovakia - till now. There is a note in introduction of how we actually understand Catechesis to place the words to context. Reflections and opinions of the church are mentioned in the text as well as references to some documents of church and also notes of Catechesis held in the church outside the Czech lands to clarify the topic of Catchesis in the Czech Republic. Together with resources from books listed in the end of the work, some personal experiences of an author for the period of last thirty years are also noted. The work does not attempt to be a complete outlook on the whole issue but is rather a look at this issue from a new angle.
Existential-analytic concept of meaning in life and its implications for the care of seriously and terminally ill patients of health care facilities

In Czech hospitals, a patient's problems are usually perceived mainly as troubles of a somatic nature, which reduces the quality of the care provided. It is usually very professional in terms of fulfilling the patient's physical needs. However, the care provided in the domain of the patient's psycho-social needs is developing rather slowly, while caring for their spiritual needs is either totally absent or only beginning to be realized and offered. This thesis looks into the ways in which the spiritual needs, above all the need to find a meaning in one's life, can be examined, understood, and fulfilled - especially in people that are seriously, incurably or terminally ill. The hospital staff do not have enough experience concerning the care of the spiritual dimension of man, nor do they have enough knowledge and skills to provide the necessary care and assistance, although such needs could often be crucial for the quality of life of such patients. V. E. Frankl's antropology, which is the basis of his therapeutic approach of logotherapy and existential analysis, is applied here as one of the theoretical models that are suitable for the clinical application of this thesis.
