This bachelor's thesis focuses on the relationship between the patient and the doctor, which can be changed by the influence of the Internet and modern technologies. Possible relationship transformation is investigated from the perspective of patients with Crohn's disease. The aim of the work is to find out whether Internet access can affect the relationship between the patient and the doctor. In the theoretical part, there is described the importance of trust, which fulfills an important function in the relationship between the patient and the doctor. Furthermore, the social role of the patient in society and the medical description of Crohn's disease are also clarified here. The results of the thesis are presented and analyzed in the empirical part. The data was gathered through semi structured interviews with six patients with Crohn's disease and two chairmen of patient organizations. The research results did not confirm the assumption that access to the internet may be the cause of a change in the relationship between the patient and the doctor. Respondents interviewed stated that the relationship with their doctor was based on trust, and the information found from the Internet would not be preferred to those provided to them by their doctor.

Who Has Bats in the Belfry: A Social Science Study of the Ghost Phenomenon from the Point of View of Castellans
Rybová, Tereza ; Spalová, Barbora (advisor) ; Novotná, Hana (referee)
Author of this bachelor thesis attempts to uncover the phenomenon of castle ghosts from the point of view of castellans (caretakers and managers of castles). The situations that castellans experience have some features of the so-called boundary objects. These objects are typical for their ambiguity and acquiring of different meanings, depending on the point of view taken. In this case, there are two opposite viewpoints. On the one hand, there is the visitors' desire to meet or see a real ghost that is known from books and legends. On the other hand, the experience of people who work and live in castles is totally different - more intimate and inward. The author would like to describe this so far unresearched phenomenon by analysis of thirteen interviews with castellans of Czech castles. Yet this study does not present a plain description of supernatural situations. The author rather attempts to conclude how castellans face these situations. These castellans are considered as very pragmatic and respectable persons who dedicated their lives to care for a historical building. Even in this fact there is a remarkable contradiction. It is apparent that castellans are captivated by the mystical atmosphere of their work places. Still, they are required to be rational persons who need to handle the upkeep...

The subject of this bachelor thesis is a catholic charismatic community called Spoločenstvo Piar (PIAR Fellowship). This fellowship aims at young people in the region of Prievidza, SK, and its goal is to explain them basic Christian values by attractive and comprehensible means. These means are generally called formation. In my thesis, I describe what the formation looks like, I explain the three phases of formation, how the formation is kept up to date and interesting for young people, and also what meaning is given to experience and emotions, since the importance of experience is becoming more and more popular in contemporary Slovak religiosity. My research has shown that the main values of this fellowship are relationship with God, relationship with people and developing personal potential. The main means of formation are common prayer meetings, talking about life in small groups, sermons and weekend renewals. Beside that, the members of Piar meet informally and encourage each other in the values. Formation can be split up in three phases: first is the excitement phase and it allows a new member to become emotionally involved, second is the purification phase which challenges the member and third is the anchor phase - that's when the member finds his life calling. To keep the formation up to...
