Action Research: Development of Reading Literacy at Secondary School
Nováková, Anežka ; Laufková, Veronika (advisor) ; Starý, Karel (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of reading literacy in lower secondary education (according to the international classification ISCED 2). It is divided into a theoretical and a research part. The theoretical part of the thesis defines reading literacy as an important competence for life in society, describes its individual components, its problematic position in the curriculum documents of Czech education and appropriate methods for its development. The research part of the thesis contains a description of the action research. The aim of the research is to improve the reading literacy of selected pupils at secondary school. First, we conducted an observation, a questionnaire survey to identify attitude to reading, and a pretest to determine students' reading literacy levels. Then, we designed intervention methods, implemented them and evaluated them. The research shows that regular and systematic inclusion of RWCT methods and reading workshops leads to the development of reading skills and a attitude to reading, especially it forms an inner need to read, creates reading habits and supports sharing reading experiences with each other. In conclusion, we propose recommendations for next work in the classroom, which will support the further development of reading literacy and motivate pupils to...
Critical areas of mathematics at the primary school - analysis of teachers' didactic practices (linear equations)
Nováková, Anežka ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
Kritická místa matematiky na základní škole (Analýza didaktických praktik učitelů - lineární rovnice) Critical Areas of Mathematics at the Primary School (Analysis of Teachers' Didactic Practices - Linear Equations) Abstract The goal of the diploma thesis is to describe didactic practices used by primary teachers when teaching linear equations, seen as one of the critical moments of primary school mathematics. First, semantic and structural models of linear equations and ways of teaching linear equations as suggested by selected textbooks for primary schools are described. Next, on the basis of literature review, pupil' problems and types of mistakes they make in this area are given. My research consisted of semistructured interviews with five experienced mathematics teachers and observations of their lessons. The interviews and observations were transcribed and the transcriptions were analysed by techniques of grounded theory. It was found out that the teachers use common didactic practices as well as their own which they develop. The practices, models which the teachers use when teaching linear equations, approaches to introducing equivalent operations, as well as a list of critical places within linear equations are the main results of the work. Keywords: Linear equations, models, pupils' problems,...
The effects and metabolism of anthelmintics in fodder plants

Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Anežka Nováková Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Lenka Skálová, Ph.D. Consultant: Ing. Lenka Langhansová, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: The effects and metabolism of anthelmintics in fodder plants Drugs are potentially dangerous contaminants of the environment. The entry of anthelmintics into the environment is mainly via excrement of treated animals. Anthelmintics can negatively affect the ecosystem by acting on non-target organisms such as plants and soil microorganisms. The accumulation of medicines in plants is also at risk. The consumption of these plants may promote the development of resistance in helminths. This thesis looked at the study of the influence and biotransformation of frequently used anthelmintics of albendazole (ABZ), ivermectin (IVM) and monepantel (MOP) in the forage plants of alfalfa seté (Medicago sativa) and the meadow clover (Trifolium pratense). Plants cultivated in in vitro conditions and plants grown in a greenhouse were used for evaluation. Phytotoxicity was monitored on seeds and whole plants by measuring the length of the roots, by determining the content of proline, light-collecting pigments and the total protein content. Mild phytotoxicity was observed after ivm...
Interaction of natural compounds with the molecule of HSA
Nováková, Anežka ; Boušová, Iva (advisor) ; Dršata, Jaroslav (referee)
Author: Anežka Nováková Publishing place: Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Farmaceutická fakulta v Hradci Králové Supervisor: PharmDr. Iva Boušová, Ph.D. Title: Interaction of Natural Compounds with the Molecule of HSA This diploma thesis is concerned with the interaction of chosen natural compounds (apigenin, naringenin, kaempferol) with the molecule of human serum albumin. In initial experiments, I observed the stability of these antioxidants under physiological conditions in time by UV-VIS absorption spectroscopy. Then I observed an influence of different storage temperatures on the stability using the same method. The proper interaction of chosen antioxidants with albumin was studied by UV-VIS absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy. Fluorimetric titration proved that mentioned antioxidants quenched the tryptophan fluorescence in the molecule of human serum albumin. Using the Stern-Volmer analysis I found out that a mechanism of fluorescence quenching was static for all antioxidants in the range of initial concentrations (2,5 - 10 µM) of antioxidants. Calculated binding parameters of antioxidants provided more specific information about their interaction with HSA and revealed the relationship between their chemical structure and affinity to HSA. The presence of 3-OH group with 2,3...
