Electric vehicles as energy storage element for electrical grid
Novák, Martin ; Minařík,, Daniel (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with possibilities of accumulation electric energy with the electric vehicles and their use for electric grid regulation services. In the introduction of this thesis is characterized the current world-wide state of electromobility, including the Czech Republic. Furthermore are summarized main advantages and disadvantages of the expanded involvement of the electric vehicles in the traffic. In the second part if this Master´s thesis the vehicles are divided into three main groups. The third part of the thesis describes the energy storage and generation units used in vehicles. In this part of the script are each of the energy storage parameters compared. The other chapter includes the list of current battery electric vehicles with all their important technical parameters. The fifth chapter summarizes the possibilities of the use of electric vehicles in the Vehicle-to-grid system. This chapter also discusses in detail the ancillary services of the electric grid in the Czech Republic. In the last part of this Master´s thesis there is calculated an economical potential of electric vehicles providing the primary and secondary regulation.
Analysis of the transport properties of graphene nanostructures
Novák, Martin ; Bartošík, Miroslav (referee) ; Lišková, Zuzana (advisor)
Graphene transport properties are analysed in this thesis. They are strongly dependent on doping with charge carriers. The number of charge carriers can be influenced by electric field, substrate or surface adsorbates. The graphene field-effect transistor (FET) has been prepared. Graphene made by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) has been con tacted through gold structures made by electron beam lithography (EBL). Dependences on electrode configuration, gate voltage and used substrate are observed.
Limits and a World-Wide Status of New Nuclear Installations
Novák, Martin ; Šťastný, Ondřej (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with new nuclear installations from the beginning of nuclear era to the present installations. In the introduction of this thesis are mentioned historical events that led to the current nuclear power engineering. Furthermore, there is summarized the present world-wide state of nuclear energy and its share of the total electrical production. The introduction also contains the basic division of nuclear power plants into generations. Current and past construction of nuclear power plants is divided to the generations with focusing on development and construction of individual nuclear power reactor types. This thesis also characterizes the first nuclear era with evaluation of factors which had influence on development and construction of nuclear power plants in different countries. In next section is a world-wide status of new nuclear installations in comparison with past nuclear installations. The following section contains comparison of age of permanently shutdown reactors and operational reactors with respect to their future replacement. The thesis figures out the possibilities of increasing nuclear power capacity and life extension of nuclear power plants in operation. Furthermore, there is summarization of all projects that are currently in process of construction. This thesis is also focused on analysis of the construction delays of two European nuclear power plants Olkuluoto 3 in Finland and Flamanville 3 in France. Developments in these individual projects are sorted chronologically to the present state with pointing to the cause of delays. The detailed analysis contains the characterization of the main projects participants and their parts in the projects. In the final part of this thesis the author presents a description of construction some other nuclear power plants projects in the world.
Intersection of highways No II/448 a II/449 by Drahanovice
Stejskal, Filip ; Novák, Martin (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with a modification of intersections of roads No. II/448 and II/449 in Drahanovice. The current situation is a 4-way intersection and there is an issue of the driver’s uncertainty whether he is on a main road or a side road. Therefore a modification to a roundabout instead of the existing intersection is designed. The thesis also includes a proposal for pedestrian communication.
Influence of underetching of plasmonic antennas on their optical response
Novák, Martin ; Nebojsa, Alois (referee) ; Šamořil, Tomáš (advisor)
Influence optical response on underetching of plasmonic antennas is observed in this thesis. When light falls with resonant wavelength on the optical antennas, the electromagnetic field is amplified near this antennas. The resonant wavelength depends on the length of the antenna and on effective refractive index given by the ambient properties around the antenna. The contact surface with substrate (dielectric) is reduced by underetching the antenna and the effective refractive index is changed and thus the optical response of the antenna is changed.
Geometry of vehicle trajectory and dimensions of parking lots
Výstup, Jan ; Novák, Martin (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis solves the problem of mathematical derivation of turning path boundaries based on the vehicle's geometrical properties specified by the manufacturer. It compares this data with the values measured on the real vehicle movement. Subsequently, it deals with the design of the dimensions of parking lots in relation to the angle of standing position of the vehicles and the width of the road. It compares the area of the parking spaces so designed in terms of their area. This can be used primarily to optimize the use of parking space.
REPAIR OF LOCAL ROADS AND PAVEMENTS IN THE VILLAGE OF STARÉ HRADIŠTĚ
Novák, Martin ; Klepáček, Josef (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The subject work is to repair local roads and pavements in the village of Staré Hradiště in the Pardubice region. The reason is the high speed of passing vehicles, excessive noise and poor drainage of existing roads. The proposal will be an overall calming sites, the establishment of parking spaces, drainage.
Design of the hydraulic circuit of the ASC 110 vibratory roller drive
Novák, Martin ; Rada, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rada, Zdeněk (referee) ; Klas, Roman (advisor)
This thesis presents a proposal of newly designed concept for travel hydraulic circuit of vibratory single drum roller ASC 110. The maximum machine gradeability was chosen as the main parameter for hydraulic circuit proposal. After selecting the new hydraulic travel concept, suitable hydraulic components have been selected. Length and local losses for two different machine speeds were calculated for sufficient hydraulic circuit design. Hydraulic losses have also been calculated for use in different climatic conditions. A new machine cooling concept has also been proposed. Heating and cooling curves of hydraulic circuit were calculated. For the purpose of comparing gradeability and energy balance of the newly designed travel concept compared to the existing one currently in mass production, both machines were fitted with measuring points. On both machines were measured for example, pressure, flow and temperature in each hydraulic circuit branch and others. From the time dependencies of the above-mentioned parameters it was possible to determine the energy efficiency of the newly designed concept. To assess the maximum gradeability, the slope of the hill was measured. Comparing the two machines, it has been found that the two hydraulic circuit solution has significantly improved traction properties in demanding machine applications, especially when driving uphill and downhill. This concept also affects less fuel consumption and places less demand on the hydraulic oil cooler due to its energy efficiency.
