Hidden cultural values of the protected areas
Fišer, J. ; Novák, David ; Šmejda, L.
The cultural character of the landscape stems not only from its current economic structure but also from the anthropogenic past reflected in numerous relics, which show that people in the past also used the part of the landscape that is now protected for its natural values. However, the intensity of these activities was linked to general settlement strategies with a strong respect to the geomorphological characteristics of the landscape. Large-scale protected natural areas are characterised by exceptional landscape features or significant natural values. Even in these parts of the landscape, past human influence was significant and left its traces. The intensity and specifics of this influence are presented in the paper on the basis of archaeological data. The archaeological data were processed into a grid whose values are related to the number of archaeological periods present in the given area. The protected landscape was used by people rather sporadically and the increase in activity can only be associated with the mediaeval and modern periods. Areas of the unprotected landscape were more intensively used in the past. However, the explanation for the difference is not based on social preferences but on the geomorphological structure of the protected landscape and its associated settlement history.

Vibration energy harvester as a tuned mass damper
Novák, David ; Machů, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rubeš, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis it's about vibration energy harvester as a tuned mass damper the design of a vibration generator as a dynamic vibration damper. The work contains a research part, which examines the methods of damping mechanical systems and the influence of the vibrating generator on the vibrating base. Based on this knowledge, equations of motion were derived for the design of the model in the SIMULINK program, where we optimized the parameters for maximizing the obtained electrical power and maximizing the damping effect.
Design of a Lean Manufacturing Process with the Realization of the Production Layout
Novák, David ; Zíma, Jakub (referee) ; Jurová, Marie (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a lean manufacturing process with the main focus on the modification of the production layout of the heat pump production line, at Daikin Device Czech Republic s.r.o. In the introductory part of the thesis, the theoretical background is elaborated and then the company is introduced briefly. The next part analyzes the currently produced models, production processes, the line in terms of current layout and finally the process times. Based on these analyzes, a new layout of the production line and storage space is presented. In the next part of the thesis, the conditions of implementation are defined. The final part evaluates the benefits of this work based on the real results that the new layout resulted in.
The Municipal Baths
Novák, David ; Nový, Alois (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The proposal of the municipal baths is situated in Staré Brno. It´s closely of Trade fairs Brno and river Svratka. This proposal has tendence to design of function building in the relation of river Svratka and surrounding area.
Response time of thermometers
Novák, David ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Foral, Štěpán (advisor)
The aim of the work is the analysis of the characteristics of resistive and termočlánkových sensors, the description of their principle, basic parameters, structural design and last but not least is probably the most important part of the work of the explanation, analysis and practical experiment to see the time constant of the sensor. In the first part of the thesis explains the basic concepts and principles of thermal quantities of phenomena. Then it is done the basic classification of methods of measuring temperature with the inclusion of the main points of the content of this work. The next section will deal with the main issues of the work. First comes an explanation of the nature of resistive sensors and is explained in the next chapter the principle of thermocouples. The following is the chapter on the construction of the sensors. Here is a design of the sensor for the dismantled the practical use in industry and in other applications.. In the next chapter is described in detail at the issue of the time constants of the sensor. This chapter contains not only an explanation of this concept, but also to derive equations for the description of sensor behavior important in changing the conditions of real traffic. The following is the part where they are dismembered influences affecting the time constant of the device. These effects can significantly affect the otherwise high accuracy thermometers mentioned above. The last chapter deals with practical measurement of time constants specified thermometers. The measurement was carried out in two different environments, in boiling water and warm air. The assessment of the results of the measurements showed that the time constant in an environment of boiling water is significantly smaller than in the case of hot air, and that for all of the measured objects.
Raytracing for GPUEngine
Novák, David ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is ray tracing optimization, especially with the use of acceleration data structure. It'll be focused on discretion about various structure build strategies and their traversal. Different algorithms on the CPU and on the GPU will be implemented and compared in the thesis, specifically will be compared the speed of build and final structure quality, which have a direct influence on ray tracing performance. A ray tracing application will be implemented for the purpose of the acceleration structure quality test. A part with acceleration structure building will be added to GPUEngine library.
Implementation of 10 Gb Ethernet Interface for Arria 10 SoC
Novák, David ; Košař, Vlastimil (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis addresses design, implementation and testing of 10 Gb Ethernet interface for chip Arria 10 SoC (combination of FPGA and ARM Cortex-A9). Composition of the interface, its parts and communication between them is described with main focus being on MAC layer, which was designed and implemented in the course of this work. Secondary aspect of this thesis is increasing CPU performance demands for processing of packets and problems it brings. The performance of common CPUs is seriously lacking with network speeds over 10 Gb/s and alternative solutions has to be considered - namely acceleration of some tasks using FPGA and utilization of new ways of packet processing. Therefore, the description of DPDK (library for fast packet processing) as well as implementation of DPDK interface for newly created MAC module, are part of this thesis.
Possibilities of CAx systems in industrial practice
Novák, David ; Tůma, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hermanský, Dominik (advisor)
Usage of computer aid becomes an integral part of every engineering company. The first part of this thesis contains a description of CAx systems, their historical development and use. Second part deals with problematics of 3axis machining in CAD/CAM system Inventor HSM from company Autodesk, Inc. The target of this part was to select optimal machining strategies, choose ideal tools, determine the cutting conditions and verify the whole process by simulation help.
Combined heat and biogas production using a bioreactor
Novák, David ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the bioreactor system and its use for the production of heat and biogas. The bioreactor uses the composting and metanogation process of fermentation that humanity has known for hundreds of years, but the combination of these processes is a relatively unexplored area. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes the existing possibilities of utilization of the heat generated in the compost, and also describes the used technology of small biogas stations and other small systems for biogas production. It follows the practical part of the work, when it was the task to design a bioreactor working at low temperatures during the winter. Part of the solution is the initial design and testing of the basic test structure of the bioreactor, followed by the implementation of a more advanced and more complex system, including a control and measuring center realized by a microcontroller.
