Quality of living of children and adolescents in a children's home

This thesis focuses on the quality of life of children and young people in a children's home. The aim of the thesis is to describe the lives of children in the observed children's home and to compare possible changes and development since their placement to the present. This description and comparison were made through the case studies of two selected boys. To supplement the information and strengthen this topic, an interview was conducted with the host. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part consists of several chapters that are subsequently related to the practical part. Here, I mention the history and current state of children's homes in the Czech Republic, types of children's homes, causes of children's placement in children's homes, children's needs, and developmental stages of children. In the last chapter, the literature review describes the CAN syndrome. The empirical part is focused on qualitative research methods. The research was conducted by observing and getting to know the operation and schedule of the home, its staff, and the children themselves. Critical analysis of attitudes of the professional public to Montessori approach in social work with children

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out the attitudes of social workers who work with children as a target group towards the Montessori approach. This thesis deals with what social workers think about this specific approach, what they think about it and where they see the space for its use in their professional practice. In the theoretical basis of the work, 3 basic topics are presented: social work, Montessori approach and attitudes. The part on social work deals with defining social work and the profession of a social worker, including the legislative framework, it also deals with the specification of social work with children and the introduction of institutions where it is possible to work with children within this profession (e.g. Authority for the social and legal protection of children, low-threshold facilities for children and youth, children's crisis centres, etc.). The section on Montessori is devoted to this method and the basic pillars on which it stands. A sub-chapter is also dedicated to the founder Maria Montessori and the origin of the method itself. Types of social services provided to physically and mentally disabled persons by evangelical churches in the territory of the czech republic

The bachelor's thesis deals with the types of social services for physically and mentally disabled persons provided by the Evangelical Church in the territory of the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is to map these services and thus enable an insight into the operation of daily and weekly care centre facilities, as the main providers of these services, their clients and the workload of their workers and managers. At the same time, it also focuses on the evangelical church as the operator, its history and also the geography of the care centre facilities in the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis, in the form of a quantitative research strategy, three guardians determine their satisfaction with the facility and the staff of the Na palubě care facility and the benefit of the facility to their loved ones.
How social work has affected the lives of social workers.

79 Abstract This diploma thesis explores the effects of social work on a social worker. The goal of this thesis is to describe the effects regarding the worker's life and experience in depth. The theoretical part of this paper is compiled of four parts. The introductory part explicates the definition of social work and the characteristics of a social worker. The following chapter deals with the role as well as the responsibilities of a social worker in their professional life; in addition, some potential risks a social worker may experience in their line of work are presented. Next, the private life of a social worker is explored in connection with their profession. Finally, work-life balance and psychohygiene are delved into as preventative measures, which should be implemented at, as well as outside of work. The practical part of this paper is qualitative research, specifically, a semi-structured interview; in other words, an interview composed of open-ended questions was conducted with several social workers from a reception centre. The resulted data was analysed through coding techniques and delineated according to the theory explored in the first part of this paper. The theoretical part describes mediation - the term mediation, basic principles, objectives, advantages and definition of mediation according to Czech legislation, mediator - the role of the mediator, his main tasks and skills. It also describes the process of mediation, its phases and possible difficulties, that may arise at certain stages of the process. The bachelor thesis presents suitable and unsuitable cases for mediation.At the end of the theoretical part, the bachelor thesis is devoted to mediation in social work. It introduces the application of mediation and methods of mediation, the application of mediation in social work is presented and the target groups of social work are introduced. In the practical part, I chose a qualitative method to collect data through a semi- structured interview. The aim of the Bachelor's thesis was to find out, from selected social workers of Dobříš and Nový Knín regions, the awareness of mediation and its possible use as a method of social work.
The importance of communicationaids in socialising and improving the quality of life, of people with hearing disabilities

The main aim of this thesis is to find out the opinion of people with hearing impairment about the efforts of the majority society to reduce communication barriers and thus to facilitate better integration into the majority society. To achieve this and sub-objectives, I would like to prove this through a structured questionnaire sent out to people with hearing impairment (schools and organisations) across the country.
